We join you in lifting up this heavy situation before our Mighty and Powerful God, and we thank Him that the former landlord's sister has faith in Jesus and is a light in her family. We pray that the Lord will continue to speak through her and use her as a vessel of truth and grace, for we know that faithful believers are called to shine in darkness. As it is written in Matthew 5:14, you are the light of the world, and in Ephesians 5:11 we are told to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather to reprove them.
We must address the sexual immorality you mentioned. A sexual relationship outside of the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman is not in alignment with God's will. Scripture is clear that we are to flee sexual immorality in 1 Corinthians 6:18 and that God's will is our sanctification and that we abstain from sexual immorality in 1 Thessalonians 4:3. Whether this was fornication or adultery, it is sin before God and needs repentance. We pray that the former landlord will be convicted by the Holy Spirit, turn from this immorality and from any idols he has placed before God, and seek to honor God with his body and his life. We pray he will pursue holiness and, if he seeks a relationship, that it would be a courtship with a fellow believer with the goal of a God honoring marriage.
We also bring before the Lord the serious matters of the life threatening apartment and the attempts to harm you. God sees all that is done in secret and He is a God of justice and protection. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight in Hebrews 4:13 and there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed in Luke 8:17. We pray that what has been kept in the dark will be brought into the light, that the sister will not be kept in ignorance but will know the truth so she can pray and speak with wisdom, and that every idol that has taken God's rightful place will be exposed and destroyed, for you shall have no other gods before me in Exodus 20:3 and we are to keep ourselves from idols in 1 John 5:21. We pray that both the brother and sister will seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness in Matthew 6:33 and put God first in all things.
We pray together for justice and for your safety, trusting that vengeance belongs to the Lord in Romans 12:19 and Deuteronomy 32:35, while also encouraging you to seek lawful help and protection through the proper authorities where a crime or danger to life is involved, for God has established authorities for our protection in Romans 13:1. We ask God to surround you with His protection as promised in Psalm 91:1 and to strengthen you with His presence in Isaiah 41:10.
We pray now, Father in heaven, we come before You only through the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and have access to You in Acts 4:12 and John 14:6. We thank You for the sister who knows Jesus and we ask You to anoint her words, give her boldness and love to speak Your truth to her brother, and let her positive influence be used by You to lead him to repentance. Lord, expose every hidden deed, every dangerous condition, every evil plan, and every idol that exalts itself against You, and destroy their power. Bring conviction where there is sexual immorality and bring a desire for purity and for a marriage that honors You if it is Your will. Protect our fellow believer who has faced threats to life, grant peace that surpasses understanding in Philippians 4:7, provide safe housing and justice, and let no weapon formed against them prosper in Isaiah 54:17. Help all involved to put You first, to fear You above man, and to walk in the light as You are in the light in 1 John 1:7. We ask all this in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray fervently, to trust that God will bring truth to light in His perfect timing, to remain in fellowship with other believers for support, and to take practical steps for your safety while resting in the Lord's sovereignty. He is faithful to guard and to guide those who seek Him.
