The former landlord’s Christian sister

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol

We join you in lifting up this heavy situation before our Mighty and Powerful God, and we thank Him that the former landlord's sister has faith in Jesus and is a light in her family. We pray that the Lord will continue to speak through her and use her as a vessel of truth and grace, for we know that faithful believers are called to shine in darkness. As it is written in Matthew 5:14, you are the light of the world, and in Ephesians 5:11 we are told to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather to reprove them.

We must address the sexual immorality you mentioned. A sexual relationship outside of the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman is not in alignment with God's will. Scripture is clear that we are to flee sexual immorality in 1 Corinthians 6:18 and that God's will is our sanctification and that we abstain from sexual immorality in 1 Thessalonians 4:3. Whether this was fornication or adultery, it is sin before God and needs repentance. We pray that the former landlord will be convicted by the Holy Spirit, turn from this immorality and from any idols he has placed before God, and seek to honor God with his body and his life. We pray he will pursue holiness and, if he seeks a relationship, that it would be a courtship with a fellow believer with the goal of a God honoring marriage.

We also bring before the Lord the serious matters of the life threatening apartment and the attempts to harm you. God sees all that is done in secret and He is a God of justice and protection. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight in Hebrews 4:13 and there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed in Luke 8:17. We pray that what has been kept in the dark will be brought into the light, that the sister will not be kept in ignorance but will know the truth so she can pray and speak with wisdom, and that every idol that has taken God's rightful place will be exposed and destroyed, for you shall have no other gods before me in Exodus 20:3 and we are to keep ourselves from idols in 1 John 5:21. We pray that both the brother and sister will seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness in Matthew 6:33 and put God first in all things.

We pray together for justice and for your safety, trusting that vengeance belongs to the Lord in Romans 12:19 and Deuteronomy 32:35, while also encouraging you to seek lawful help and protection through the proper authorities where a crime or danger to life is involved, for God has established authorities for our protection in Romans 13:1. We ask God to surround you with His protection as promised in Psalm 91:1 and to strengthen you with His presence in Isaiah 41:10.

We pray now, Father in heaven, we come before You only through the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and have access to You in Acts 4:12 and John 14:6. We thank You for the sister who knows Jesus and we ask You to anoint her words, give her boldness and love to speak Your truth to her brother, and let her positive influence be used by You to lead him to repentance. Lord, expose every hidden deed, every dangerous condition, every evil plan, and every idol that exalts itself against You, and destroy their power. Bring conviction where there is sexual immorality and bring a desire for purity and for a marriage that honors You if it is Your will. Protect our fellow believer who has faced threats to life, grant peace that surpasses understanding in Philippians 4:7, provide safe housing and justice, and let no weapon formed against them prosper in Isaiah 54:17. Help all involved to put You first, to fear You above man, and to walk in the light as You are in the light in 1 John 1:7. We ask all this in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray fervently, to trust that God will bring truth to light in His perfect timing, to remain in fellowship with other believers for support, and to take practical steps for your safety while resting in the Lord's sovereignty. He is faithful to guard and to guide those who seek Him.

We hear how heavy and unsettling this has been for you, carrying worry about your former housing and feeling unsafe, while also longing for honesty to come to light. It makes sense you would hope the sister's faith would be a steady, positive influence and that nothing important would be kept hidden.

We are joining you in prayer that God continues to work in her life and give her wisdom and clarity in how she speaks and acts, and that He guides both her and her brother to put Him first. We also pray with you that whatever has been put in God's place would be exposed and surrendered to Him, and that truth would be handled in a fair and open way.

One steady step that can help in a season like this is to keep your own safety and support anchored close to you. If concerns about housing or feeling threatened still weigh on you, it can help to stay connected to a trusted pastor, counselor, or other safe person who knows your situation and can walk with you day by day, alongside prayer.

Father, we lift this sister to You and ask You to strengthen her and guide her. We ask for Your protection and peace over our friend who has been carrying fear, for wisdom for each next decision, and for Your will to be done in this family. Lead them all to seek You first and to walk in truth. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden has been brought before the Lord and we join you in prayer to our gracious God who hears the cries of His people.

We thank Him for the sister who has faith in Jesus Christ, for it is by His ransom alone that any soul is delivered from going down to the Pit. We pray that the Lord will continue to speak through her and make her a faithful witness, that she may speak the truth in love and with holy boldness, and that her life and testimony may be used by the Holy Spirit to call her brother to repentance and to faith.

We pray for the former landlord, that God who alone can deliver from the power of darkness would open his eyes to his sin and to his need of Christ. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His holy Word, for sexual union belongs only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and all that lies outside that covenant is sin before a holy God. We pray instead that He would grant true conviction, that every idol would be exposed and destroyed, and that this man would turn from immorality and from all unjust dealing, seek forgiveness through the blood of Christ, and put God first in all things.

We pray also that what has been hidden in darkness would be brought into the light. If a dwelling was rented that endangered life, and if evil has been plotted against you, we ask the Lord who looks down from the height of His sanctuary to reveal the truth, to restrain wickedness, to execute justice, and to be your deliverer. He is gracious and has found a ransom, and He is able to deliver from the attacks of sin and from the malice of men, and to set the feet of the oppressed in a safe place. We pray that the sister would not be kept in the dark, but that with wisdom and truth she may know what is needful to know, that she may act as a faithful sister and as a servant of Christ.

We pray for you who have suffered, that you would see even this sore trial as under the hand of your heavenly Father who refines as a refiner at the furnace door, not to destroy but to chasten and to purify. May the Lord keep you, heal what has been wounded, guard you from further harm, and give you grace to live and to declare the works of the Lord. May He deliver you from all fear and from the power of darkness, and establish your heart in the peace which comes only through our Lord Jesus Christ, in whose name alone is salvation.

We ask that both the brother and sister, and all concerned, would put God first, seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and walk in the light as He is in the light. May every idol be cast down and Christ alone be enthroned.

We commit all these things to our Mighty and Powerful God, trusting that He will do what is just and what is merciful, according to His perfect will. Amen.
