The former landlord’s Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol

We join you in lifting up this burden before our Mighty and Powerful God, and we thank Him that He sees all that has been hidden and that He is sovereign over every injustice.

We thank God for the former landlord's sister and for her faith in Jesus, and we pray that the Lord will continue to strengthen her and speak through her as a light in her family. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven. We pray she will have boldness and wisdom and love to speak the truth, and that her godly influence would be used by the Holy Spirit to bring conviction and change. We also pray that the truth about the life threatening condition of that apartment would not remain hidden from her. For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light as promised in Luke 8:17. We ask that God expose what has been done in darkness, for we are told in Ephesians 5:11 to have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather to reprove them.

We must also address what you have shared about the sexual relationship between the former landlord and this woman. According to scripture, sexual intimacy outside of marriage between a man and a woman is fornication, and if either is married to another it is adultery, and God calls all involved to repentance. We are told in 1 Corinthians 6:18 to flee sexual immorality and in Hebrews 13:4 that marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. We pray for true repentance for both of them and that they would turn from this sin and pursue holiness. We also hear your deep concern that this woman may have hired people to try to harm you. We do not take such a serious matter lightly, and we pray that God will bring all truth to light and establish justice, while we leave vengeance to Him. As it is written in Romans 12:19 vengeance belongs to me, I will repay says the Lord. If you are in danger we encourage you to also seek lawful protection and help while trusting God as your refuge, for He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty in Psalm 91:1.

We agree with you in praying that both the former landlord and his sister would put God first above all else, for Matthew 6:33 teaches us to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness. We pray that our God would expose and destroy every idol that has taken His rightful place in their hearts, for God has said in Exodus 20:3 you shall have no other gods before me and in 1 John 5:21 to keep ourselves from idols. We ask Him to tear down every false trust, and that they would worship and serve Him alone.

We now pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace. We lift up this sister to You, strengthen her faith, fill her with Your Spirit, give her discernment and courage to speak Your truth in love and not to be kept in the dark. Shine Your light into every hidden place concerning this apartment and every harmful deed, and let truth and righteousness prevail. Bring the former landlord to repentance for any sin, including sexual immorality and idolatry, and draw him to salvation and transformation in Jesus. Destroy every idol in their lives and be enthroned as Lord over them. Protect the one who has been harmed, bring healing from fear and trauma, provide safe shelter and justice according to Your will, and guard this dear one from all evil. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We hear how heavy this season has been for you, and how much you want truth to come into the light. It makes sense you would care about the sister's faith and influence, and that you long for both of them to put God first and for anything that has taken His place to be exposed.

We are joining you in praying for her, that the Lord would keep strengthening her walk with Jesus and give her wisdom and courage to speak with grace and clarity as she has opportunity. We are also praying for your former landlord, that God would work in his heart and draw him toward what is right and good.

We also hear the fear and distress underneath what you described about the apartment and feeling unsafe. When those memories and worries press in, it can help to have a steady, trusted person to walk with you, a pastor, counselor, or other wise support, who can help you sort what happened, what is still a concern today, and what next steps would be most helpful. If you are still in an unsafe housing situation or feel threatened now, please reach out right away to someone you trust locally and to the proper authorities who can help you assess safety. Keeping a simple written record of dates and facts can also make conversations with those helpers clearer.

Father, we lift this sister to You and ask You to keep her close to Jesus, to guard her and give her discernment. We lift the former landlord to You and ask for Your work in his life. We lift our friend who is praying, asking for Your protection, peace, and wisdom, and that truth would be made clear in Your way and timing. Lead each one to put You first and to walk in Your will. We join you in prayer and bring your burden before the Lord who sees and knows all things.

We thank God for the former landlord's sister who has faith in Jesus, and we pray that the Lord will continue to speak through her according to His Word. May He give her wisdom, courage and love to speak the truth in grace, and may her influence be used for righteousness. We pray that what has been hidden will be brought into the light, for though His people may be hidden by Him for safety, they are never hidden from Him. He reads every thought and sees every tear, and He will bring truth to light in His perfect time. We ask that she not be kept in the dark concerning what you have suffered, but that the Lord will give her discernment to know what is true and to act in a way that honors Him.

We pray also for the former landlord, that God in His mercy would seek him even as He first sought Adam when Adam fled and hid. Man does not first seek God, but God in grace seeks the sinner. We pray that the Lord would draw him to Himself, that he would put God first and seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, letting consecration to God govern every part of his life. May every idol be exposed and destroyed, for the Lord has purposed to break down everything which sets itself up in opposition to Him. We pray that Ephraim's word would become his word, What have I to do any more with idols, and that his whole heart would become the temple of the living God, cleaving to the Lord alone and drinking from the pure fountain.

Concerning the sexual relationship you mention, we do not ask God to bless what His Word calls sin, for marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and all sexual intimacy belongs within it. Instead we pray for repentance and mercy. We pray that both persons involved would hear the voice of grace calling, Sinner, where are you, and would confess sin, turn from it, and find cleansing in the blood of Jesus Christ, through whom alone there is salvation. We pray that they would keep themselves from idols and flee from every place and practice where idols are honored.

We pray for you, that the eternal God would be your refuge in this present trial as well as in the last great day. He is willing to help in minor sorrows and in major griefs, and those who trust in Jesus are hidden in that ark of safety. May He hide you, keep you, and supply you from His abundance, and may He give you peace as you entrust all judgments to Him who judges righteously. If you remain in danger, we urge you to also seek help from the proper authorities for protection and for a just accounting of the conditions you describe, while we continue to ask God to expose what is evil and to establish what is true and right.

We pray that all of you would put God first, that His Kingdom would have sovereignty over every life concerned, and that every idol would be utterly abolished, so that Christ alone is exalted. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and refuge, to whom be all glory.
