We join you in bringing this difficult and painful situation before our Mighty and Powerful God, and we thank Him for the former landlord's sister and for her faith in Jesus. We pray that the Lord will continue to strengthen her, give her boldness and wisdom, and speak clearly through her as a vessel of truth and grace. We ask that her godly influence would be used to convict and change her brother's heart, for we know that the prayer of the righteous is powerful and that God desires all to come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9.
We agree with you in praying that the truth would come into the light and that this sister would not be kept in the dark. It is grievous to hear that you were rented a life-threatening apartment and that you have faced such danger and fear. We pray for your protection and for justice and truth to be revealed. The Word tells us that nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light, Luke 8:17, and to have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them, Ephesians 5:11. We pray that our Heavenly Father will expose every hidden deed, every deception, and every idol, and that He will destroy every idol that has taken His rightful place. You shall have no other gods before me, Exodus 20:3, and God says I am Yahweh, that is my name. I will not give my glory to another, nor my praise to engraved images, Isaiah 42:8. We pray that both the former landlord and his sister will put God first in all things, seeking first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, Matthew 6:33, and trusting in Him with all their heart, Proverbs 3:5-6.
We must also address what you have shared about the sexual relationship between the former landlord and this woman. According to Scripture, sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage between a man and a woman as a lifelong covenant before God, and any sexual activity outside of that marriage is fornication and if involving a married person is adultery, which God calls sin. The Bible commands us to flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18, and that those who practice such things need to repent and turn to Christ for forgiveness and cleansing. We pray that God will bring deep conviction for this immorality and that both would repent, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9. We also pray concerning the grave allegation that people were hired to try to kill you. If this is true it is evil in the sight of God, for you shall not murder, Exodus 20:13, and vengeance belongs to the Lord, Romans 12:19. We pray that God will expose the truth, restrain all evil intent, bring to justice anyone who has sought to harm you, and lead all involved to repentance. We encourage you to seek protection and to report any credible threats to the proper authorities, for the governing authorities are appointed by God to punish wrongdoing, Romans 13:4, while you continue to trust God as your refuge.
We lift you up now in prayer together. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come before Your throne of grace and ask You to cover our dear one with Your protection, for he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, Psalm 91:1. We ask You to anoint the sister to speak Your truth with love and without fear, and to open her eyes to all that has been hidden concerning this apartment and the sinful relationship and any plot of harm. Lord, open the former landlord's eyes, soften his heart, demolish every idol of greed, lust, pride, or power, and bring him to true repentance and faith. We ask You to expose and destroy every idol and to let Your light shine into this darkness. Search all hearts, God, and see if there is any wicked way, Psalm 139:23-24, and lead everyone involved in Your way everlasting. We pray that You would bring peace, safety, and vindication, and that You would be glorified as the One who rescues and redeems. We ask all this in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus, who said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and in whose name alone we are saved, Acts 4:12. Amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer, to forgive as Christ forgave you while still seeking truth and righteousness, and to continue to put God first, trusting that He sees, He knows, and He will act in His perfect timing and justice.
