The former landlord’s Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol

We join you in bringing this serious situation before the Lord and we thank you for your concern for the former landlord's sister and her walk with Christ. We pray that the Lord will strengthen her faith and use her as a light in her brother's life, and we pray for truth and justice to prevail and for your protection.

We are encouraged that this sister has faith in Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. As it is written, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We thank God for her faith and we pray it grows ever stronger.

We pray that God will continue to speak through her and give her boldness and wisdom to speak the truth in love. We pray that her positive and godly influence will be used by the Holy Spirit to bring conviction and change to her brother. We ask that the Lord will open his eyes and soften his heart to repentance, that he would put God first in his life. As Scripture says, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. We pray they both will put God first above all other loyalties, relationships, and desires.

We also bring before the Lord the serious matters you have shared about the life threatening condition of the apartment and the attempt on your life. We pray for your safety and protection, for the Lord is our refuge and fortress. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. We ask God to surround you with His protection and to let no weapon formed against you prosper, and we encourage you to also seek the proper authorities for protection and justice, for the authorities are appointed by God to punish wrongdoing Romans 13:4.

We agree with you in praying that nothing remains hidden in darkness. The Lord sees all and will bring what is hidden into the light. For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light Luke 8:17 and For everything that is hidden will be revealed, and every secret will become known Luke 12:2. We pray that if this sister has been kept in the dark about the dangerous apartment her brother rented to you, that God will reveal the truth to her. We pray that deception will not prevail and that Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them Ephesians 5:11 will be her guiding principle.

We must also address the sexual relationship you mentioned between the former landlord and this woman. According to Scripture, any sexual intimacy outside of marriage between a man and a woman is sin before God. It is called fornication if between unmarried persons or adultery if either is married, and God calls us to flee from it. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18 and You shall not commit adultery Exodus 20:14. Marriage is to be honored as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and any relationship outside of that design dishonors God and opens the door to further evil. We pray that both the former landlord and this woman will be convicted of this sin, that they will repent and turn from it, and that they will pursue holiness and purity before the Lord.

We also join you in praying that our mighty and powerful God will expose and destroy every idol in their lives. An idol is anything we put before God, and Scripture warns Little children, keep yourselves from idols 1 John 5:21 and You shall have no other gods before me Exodus 20:3. Whether the idols are money, power, lust, control, or any other created thing, we pray God will tear them down and that they will worship Him alone. We pray that the Lord will execute justice in His perfect way, for it is written Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19.

Father in heaven, we lift up this sister to You in the name of Jesus Christ. Strengthen her, fill her with Your Holy Spirit, give her discernment and courage to speak Your truth without fear, and let her life be a testimony that draws her brother toward repentance and salvation. We lift up her brother to You, that You would convict him of any wrongdoing regarding this apartment and any immoral conduct, that You would lead him to confess and turn from sin and to make restitution where needed. We pray for the woman involved, that You would bring her to repentance as well and stop any evil intent or harm. We ask for Your divine protection over the one who submitted this request, cover them with Your hand and let Your justice and truth shine in this situation. Expose every lie, every hidden work of darkness, and destroy every idol that stands between these souls and You. May Your will be done and may You be glorified. We pray all these things in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We appreciate you bringing this burden to us. We hear how much weight you have been carrying after that housing situation and how deeply you want truth and God's presence to prevail for everyone involved.

We are joining you in praying for the sister who loves Jesus, that the Lord would strengthen her faith and give her wisdom and courage as she speaks and lives out what she believes. We pray her influence would be for good and that honest, clear communication would be possible in that family.

We also hear how unsafe and overwhelmed you have felt, and we are praying for your protection, peace, and for truth to come to light in a healthy way. When fear has been so real, it helps to not carry it alone, so we encourage you to stay connected with trusted people around you, like a pastor or wise counselor who knows you personally and can walk with you in next steps. If you ever feel unsafe, please reach out right away to someone nearby you trust and to local help where you are.

Father, we lift this sister and her brother to You and we lift our friend who wrote to us. Bring Your peace, guard their hearts, guide them to put You first, and gently expose anything that needs to come into the light. Give wisdom, safety, and healing in the days ahead. Your request has been brought before the Lord with care, and we join you in seeking His mercy and His righteous hand in these heavy matters.

We pray first for this sister who has faith in Jesus Christ, for by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone is any soul saved, and we thank God for any light of that faith in her. May the Lord continue to speak through her and make her voice clear and courageous, that she may speak truth in love and not be kept in darkness concerning what has been done. We ask that what has been hidden may be brought into the light, for God looks down from the height of His sanctuary and sees those who are oppressed, and He will in His own wise time expose every hidden thing and destroy every idol that would claim the heart. May both this brother and sister be brought to put God first in all things, to love Him above all and to turn from every idol that competes with Him.

We pray also for the former landlord, that the Lord who is gracious would say, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, for I have found a ransom. He is bound by justice and fettered by sin, as we all are by nature, and only Divine power can deliver from the power of darkness. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His holy will, for marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all sexual union belongs within that covenant alone. Where there has been immorality, we pray not for its blessing but for deep conviction, for repentance, and for cleansing through the blood of Christ, who alone is the ransom God has provided. No man would have thought of such a deliverance, but God has invented it and found it in His Son. May this man be delivered from the fascinating power of sin and from the love of the world, and may he look to the heavenly Father alone for deliverance both from the guilt and from the power of sin.

We hear the weight of your affliction concerning the apartment that endangered your life and the malice you have suffered, and we pray for your protection and deliverance. The Lord chastens His own as a father chastens his son, and even afflictions that come distinctly from man through persecution or malice may yet be overruled by the Lord for His special love to us. For this reason we may wisely moderate our anger against second causes, knowing that troubles do not spring out of the dust but pass under His hand. He who has chastened you sorely has not given you over unto death, and we pray that you may yet say, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. If there has been murderous intent against you, we ask the Lord to restrain evil, to bring all conspiracies to confusion, and to grant protection to the persecuted and an escape from peril, as He has often done for His people.

We pray that God would teach all concerned the mischief of sin, that He would grant true deliverance which is solely by the power of God, for it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. May He loose the captives, set free the prisoners of hope, and cause those who have walked in darkness to be born again from above. And may you, being delivered, live to tell of His grace, that others also may be torn from the power of the destroyer.

We commit these persons and these matters to Him who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in working, trusting that He will do what is right and what is merciful, to the glory of His name.
