The former landlord’s Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol

We join you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord and we stand with you in seeking His truth and justice and protection.

We thank God for the former landlord's sister and for her faith in Jesus, and we pray that the Lord will continue to use her as light in a dark place. Jesus said You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cannot be hidden Matt 5:14, and we pray she will walk in that light with boldness and discernment. We pray that no deception will keep her in the dark, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light Luke 8:17. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account Heb 4:13, so we ask that what has been done in secret concerning the life threatening apartment that was rented to you would be exposed and brought into the truth.

We also bring before the Lord the sexual relationship you mentioned between the former landlord and this woman. Scripture is clear that God calls us to flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Cor 6:18, and that God will judge the sexually immoral Heb 13:4. If this was outside of marriage it is fornication, and if either was married to another it is adultery, and both are sin before God that requires repentance. We also bring before Him the grave evil of attempting to take a life, for You shall not murder Exod 20:13 and the Lord hates hands that shed innocent blood Prov 6:17. To hire others to try to kill you is wickedness that cries out for justice and repentance, and we pray that God would restrain this evil, protect you, and cause all such plans to fail. We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord for your protection and to also seek the protection of the lawful authorities where needed, for the authority is God's servant for good to bring justice Rom 13:4, and vengeance belongs to the Lord Rom 12:19.

We agree with you in praying that both the former landlord and his sister would put God first in all things. Seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matt 6:33. We pray that our Mighty and Powerful God would expose and destroy every idol that has taken His place in their hearts, for You shall have no other gods before me Exod 20:3 and Little children, keep yourselves from idols 1 John 5:21. We pray that every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God would be torn down, for the weapons of our warfare are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds 2 Cor 10:4.

We lift you up now together in prayer. Father in heaven, we come before You only through the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We thank You for the sister who knows Jesus and we ask that You would fill her with Your Holy Spirit, give her wisdom and courage to speak Your truth in love Eph 4:15, and not to have fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather to reprove them Eph 5:11. Let her influence be used by You to lead her brother to conviction, repentance and new life in Christ. Expose the truth about the dangerous apartment and about the immoral and violent deeds that have been hidden, and let no lie remain standing. Destroy every idol of money, lust, power and self that has held these hearts captive, and draw them to put You first. Protect our brother or sister who was harmed and threatened, surround them with Your angels, for the angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them Psalm 34:7, and let Your perfect justice and mercy prevail. We ask that all involved would come to repentance and to the knowledge of the truth 1 Tim 2:4, and that You would be glorified as the One who brings light into darkness. We pray all this in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We are praying that God will keep speaking through her in quiet, consistent ways, and that both she and her brother will keep seeking to put God first above everything else that competes for their hearts. Godly influence often grows through how a person lives day by day, and we are asking God to give her wisdom and clarity about what she sees and hears, and to give you wisdom too as you navigate what to share and when.

We join you in prayer before the throne of grace, and we bring these burdens to our Mighty and Powerful God who both destroys the idol and delivers the oppressed.

We pray for the sister of your former landlord, who has faith in Jesus Christ, that the Lord will continue to speak through her and keep her as a faithful witness. We ask that the Lord will give her boldness and clarity, that she will not be kept in the dark, but that the truth concerning the life threatening condition of the apartment her brother rented to you will be made known to her. We pray that no deceit will prosper to hide what is true, for our God is one who brings hidden things to light, and we ask that He will grant her discernment and courage to speak what is right and to have a godly influence for good.

We pray also for your former landlord, that God will put a new heart within him and cause him to put God first above all else. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His holy Word, for we know that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that His design for sexual intimacy belongs only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Where there has been sexual immorality, we pray not for that sin to be affirmed or blessed, but for deep conviction, true repentance, and a turning away from it to follow Christ in purity. We pray that the Lord will expose and destroy every idol, whether it be gain, or lust, or power, or self will. For from the time when Satan fell, God's purpose has been to break down everything which sets itself up in opposition to Him, and He will cast down the mighty from their seats while He lifts the poor from the dunghill. He has declared that He will dry up the green tree, and the death warrant is gone out from God against everything that is of the creature that exalts itself against the Creator. So we pray that every idol in these lives will be broken in pieces by His right hand, that Christ alone will be enthroned.

We pray for your protection and deliverance. You have felt the wave of persecution and the threat against your very life, and we ask the Lord who grants protection to the persecuted and provides an escape from the most perilous exposure to draw you out of many waters. Full often the darkest conspiracy is brought to the direst confusion by His providence. Though opposition is stirred up, we know that God has often blessed His people by their persecution, to make them disgusted with Egypt and to cause them to fly back to their Noah, their Ark, and find rest for the sole of their foot. We pray that He who sent from above and took you and drew you out will continue to keep you, that no weapon formed against you will prosper, and that justice and truth will prevail concerning those who would hire others to do you harm. We pray that the Lord will expose all wicked schemes and bring them to nothing, and that He will vindicate the cause of righteousness according to His perfect sovereignty.

We pray that both this man and this woman, and all concerned, will be brought to see that apart from God there is nothing for us but destruction, and that happiness is not to be found by the creature apart from the Creator, or by a sinner apart from the Savior. May they be born again from above, for except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. May they trust in the efficacious blood of Christ, who alone can sprinkle the conscience and make an unholy heart acceptable to God.

We rest this matter in the hands of Divine Sovereignty, which is a comforting doctrine to the children of God, for He is wonderful in counsel and excellent in working. The Lord will perfect that which concerneth you. Draw from the present living water with which to moisten the arid desert of the future, and trust Him who has delivered your soul from death, your eyes from tears, and your feet from falling.

O Lord our God, speak through this sister for Your glory, uncover what has been hidden, convict of sin, destroy every idol, and set every heart to seek first Your kingdom. Keep Your child who prays under the shadow of Your wing, and let Your divine interpositions be seen in deliverance and in mercy, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We have heard your request and we bring it before the Lord with you in prayer.

We thank God for the sister's faith in Jesus Christ, for it is through Christ alone that we have salvation and access to the Father. We pray that God will continue to give her clarity, courage and grace to speak the truth in love, and that her witness will bear good fruit. We ask that what has been hidden will be brought into the light, so that she is not kept in the dark about the serious danger of the apartment her brother rented to you, and about the wrongdoing you have suffered.

We pray for your former landlord, that he would put God first above all else. Scripture teaches that we cannot serve two masters and that covetousness is idolatry, and we pray that every idol in his life and in the lives of those around him would be exposed and destroyed by the power of God. Where there has been love of money, love of self, or any worldly lust, we pray that God would grant repentance and a turning to live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world by His grace.

Concerning the sexual relationship you described outside of marriage, we do not ask God to bless what is outside His design, for He has given marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and has reserved sexual union for within it. Instead we pray for conviction, for repentance, and for all involved to seek holiness and to deny ungodliness. We pray that God would reveal His wrath against all unrighteousness that holds down the truth, and that He would also reveal His mercy to all who turn to Him.

We pray for your safety and for justice. The Lord sees what is done in secret and He is a God of truth and justice. We ask our Mighty and Powerful God to protect you from every attempt to harm you, to vindicate what is true, and to guide you with wisdom as you seek help and protection through the proper authorities. We pray that you would remain watchful and steadfast, seeking first the one truth of the gospel, which is found when we turn from worldly things and seek Christ with an anxious and watchful heart.

May God grant that truth would prevail, that idols would fall, and that both this brother and sister would put Christ first and walk in His light. We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope and Savior.
