We join you in prayer together in Jesus' name for this difficult situation and we thank God for the former landlord's sister and her faith in Jesus. We pray that the Lord will continue to strengthen her and use her as light and salt in her family.
We are grateful that she knows the Lord, for Jesus said in Matthew 5:14, You are the light of the world, and in Matthew 5:16, Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven. We pray that God will give her boldness and wisdom to speak the truth in love, Ephesians 4:15, and that her godly influence will be used by the Holy Spirit to bring conviction and change to her brother.
We also bring before the Lord the serious matters you have raised about the apartment that endangered your life. To knowingly rent out a dwelling that threatens life is unjust and unloving, and God loves justice, Psalm 37:28. We pray that what has been hidden in darkness will be brought into the light, for it is written in Luke 8:17, For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light, and in Ephesians 5:11, Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. We ask our Mighty and Powerful God to expose the truth about this apartment and about any wrongdoing, so that no one else is harmed and so that the sister is not kept in the dark but can speak and act with full knowledge.
We must also address the sexual immorality you mentioned. Scripture is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage between a man and a woman. Outside of marriage it is fornication and if involving a married person it is adultery, and God calls His people to flee from it. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18, Flee sexual immorality, and in Hebrews 13:4, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. We pray for both the former landlord and the woman involved that they would repent of this sin, turn from it, and pursue purity and holiness before God. We pray that any relationship would be brought into alignment with biblical principles, which means either repentance and separation from fornication, or if it is to continue, a commitment to a godly marriage between believers that honors God, not a continuing immoral relationship. We also pray for the woman you described, that if she has done evil or sought to harm you, God would convict her heart deeply and lead her to repentance, for God desires all to come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9.
Concerning the fear that people were hired to try to kill you, we lift up your protection and your heart to the Lord. We pray Psalm 91:1-2 over you, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. We ask God to surround you with His protection and to bring perfect justice in His time. We encourage you to not seek vengeance yourself, for Romans 12:19 says, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. If your life has been threatened, we encourage you to also seek help from the proper authorities, for God has ordained them to uphold justice, Romans 13:1-4, while we continue to trust God to reveal the truth.
We join you in praying that they both will put God first above all else, for Matthew 6:33 says, But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. We pray that every idol, anything that is loved or served more than God, whether it be money, property, pleasure, or immoral relationships, will be exposed and destroyed, for Exodus 20:3 says, You shall have no other gods before me, and 1 John 5:21 says, Little children, keep yourselves from idols. We ask that God alone would be enthroned in their hearts.
We thank you for coming in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, John 14:6, and there is no other name by which we can be saved, Acts 4:12.
Father in heaven, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this sister in Christ and ask You to fill her with Your Spirit, with courage, discernment and love, that she may speak Your truth without fear and that her life would be a powerful witness to her brother. Lord, open her eyes to the truth about the apartment and about the sin that has taken place, and use her to call her brother to repentance and righteousness. Lord, convict the former landlord of any injustice, greed, or sexual sin, and bring him to a place of godly sorrow that leads to repentance and new life in Christ, 2 Corinthians 7:10. Expose every hidden deed of darkness and destroy every idol that has taken Your place in these lives. Protect our dear one who has prayed, guard his life and his heart from fear and bitterness, and let Your perfect peace and justice prevail. Help all involved to seek You first and to honor You in their bodies, their business dealings, and their relationships. We ask all this in the powerful and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope, amen.
