Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this heavy and painful burden. What you have walked through with a dangerous living situation and the sense of being targeted and betrayed is deeply distressing, and it is right to bring it before the Lord honestly. He sees what has happened, He loves you, and He is watching over you. Even when His work is not visible to us, He is at work, carrying out His purposes and shaping those who trust Him to be more like Christ. You can trust yourself to Him as to One who covers His people with protective care, as a mother hen covers her young under her wings.
We join you in praying for the sister who knows Jesus. We thank God for the gift of a godly heritage and for the powerful influence a faithful life can have on family. Scripture shows how a sincere faith living in a grandmother and mother can shape the next generation, and in a similar way God can use a sister who walks with Him to speak truth with love. We pray that the Lord will continue to give her wisdom, courage and a clear voice, and that He will send out His light and His truth to lead her. We ask that nothing that needs to be known will stay hidden in darkness, but that what is true about the condition of the apartment and about the wrongdoing you have described will be brought into the light so it can be dealt with rightly.
We also pray for the former landlord himself. Our prayer is not that God would bless what is outside His will, but that He would bring conviction and repentance. God calls His people to have no other gods before Him and to turn away from every idol, whether it is a person, a relationship, money, comfort, or self. Anything that takes the place of God must be removed. We pray that both he and his sister would put God first above all else, that they would cleanse themselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit and pursue holiness in the reverent fear of God. This includes turning from any sexual relationship outside the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, for that covenant is where God has placed sexual intimacy. We ask that God would expose every idol and every hidden sin, not to shame alone but to lead to godly sorrow that brings repentance and restoration through Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation and who came to seek and to save the lost and to redeem what was given over to darkness.
For you, we pray that you will keep yourself in the love of God, remaining close to Him in obedience and trust. We cannot walk away from Him and expect His protection while living outside His covering, but as we remain in His love He watches over us, blesses and keeps us. He does not promise to keep us from every hardship, but He does promise to be with us, to be our Father, and to give grace, mercy and peace to His children. He will recompense those who trust under His wings and give a full reward in His time.
So we ask our mighty God to be your refuge and defense, to guard your life, to give you peace in place of fear, and to let His perfect work be done in you. We ask Him to reveal the truth, to bring justice according to His righteous ways, to destroy every idol, and to draw all involved to return to Him with whole hearts, that He may speak to them and deal graciously with them.
May the Lord show you His mercy when you cry for help, extend His grace which gives what we do not deserve, and keep you in His peace as you trust Him.
