The former landlord’s Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol.

We join with you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord and we thank you for sharing it with us. We hear your concern for the former landlord's sister who has faith in Jesus, and we agree with you that God can and does speak through His faithful children to bring truth and conviction to those around them. We also hear your distress over the life threatening conditions of the apartment you were rented, and the grave evil you have experienced, and we take your plea for truth to be revealed and for safety very seriously.

We pray that God will strengthen this sister and make her a bold witness in her brother's life. Jesus said in Matthew 5:14, You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can't be hidden. We ask that she will not be silenced or kept in the dark, but that the Lord will give her discernment, courage, and words seasoned with both grace and truth. We pray that her positive, godly influence will be used by the Holy Spirit to bring conviction and lead her brother toward repentance and change.

We also pray that what has been hidden will be brought into the light. Scripture assures us in Luke 8:17, For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed; nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. And in Ephesians 5:11 we are told, Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them. We ask our Mighty and Powerful God to expose every deception concerning the dangerous apartment and every evil scheme intended to harm you. If there has been wrongdoing and violence plotted against you, we pray that God will thwart those plans, protect you, and bring justice according to His perfect will. We remember that vengeance belongs to the Lord alone as it is written in Romans 12:19, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. We trust Him to be your defender and refuge.

We must also address what you have shared about the sexual relationship between the former landlord and this woman. If they are not married to each other as husband and wife, this is sexual immorality before God. The Bible is clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and that sex outside of that marriage is fornication and, if either is married to another, adultery. We are told in 1 Corinthians 6:18, Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. We pray that both the former landlord and this woman will be convicted of this sin, that they will flee from it, repent, and pursue purity and holiness before God. We pray they will seek godly marriage if it is His will, rather than immoral relationships.

We agree with you in praying that they both will put God first and that every idol will be exposed and destroyed. God has commanded in Exodus 20:3, You shall have no other gods before me. Whether the idols are money, power, lust, control, or self, we ask God to tear them down and to establish Himself as Lord over their hearts.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him we have access to Your throne. We lift up the sister of the former landlord to You. We thank You for her faith in Jesus. Strengthen her, fill her with Your wisdom and boldness, and continue to speak through her. Do not allow her to be kept in the dark, but reveal to her the truth about the life threatening apartment her brother rented and about the evil that has been done. Use her as an instrument of Your light and truth in her brother's life. Lord, we pray for the former landlord, that You would soften his heart, bring him to repentance for any greed, negligence, deceit, and sexual immorality, and draw him to put You first above all else. We pray also for the woman involved, that You would convict her of sin and bring her to repentance, and that You would stop every evil plan to harm Your child who is praying to us. Expose every hidden work of darkness, destroy every idol that has taken Your place in their hearts, and let Your justice and mercy prevail. We ask for Your divine protection over the one who was harmed, that he would dwell in Your shelter. As You promise in Psalm 91:1-2, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust. Be his refuge and fortress now. We ask all this in the powerful and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord as your protector and to rest in His promise to bring all things into the light in His perfect timing. Continue to pray for the salvation and repentance of those who have wronged you, knowing that God desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance. Keep walking closely with Jesus, seeking Him first, and trusting that our Mighty God is both just and merciful.

We join you in asking that God would keep strengthening her walk with Jesus so her life and words continue to be a steady, godly influence in her family. Real influence often works quietly over time, and we pray her brother would have ears to hear what is true and good, and that truth about the apartment and what you experienced would come to light in a clear and safe way.

We also understand the weight of feeling unsafe and wronged, and wanting every hidden thing exposed. It makes sense you would long for justice and for God to be put first above all else. We are asking God to give you wisdom, protection, and calm as you navigate this, and to help both of them seek Him above anything else that competes for their hearts.

Father, we lift this sister to You and thank You for her faith. Keep drawing her close and use her life for good. We have received your burden and we bring it before the Lord with you in prayer, seeking His mercy and His truth.

We thank God for the sister of whom you speak, that she has faith in Jesus Christ, for salvation is through Him alone. We pray that the Lord will keep her faithful, that she may walk in the fear of God which gives strong confidence, and that she may be as a pillar and ground of the truth in her family. May the Holy Spirit give her wisdom and courage to speak the truth in love, not with a cowardly or sneaking manner, but with holy boldness, declaring the whole counsel of God. We ask that what is hidden in darkness may be brought into the light according to the will of God, who is true to His nature and true to His covenant, and that she may not be kept from knowing what she ought to know to act justly and mercifully.

We pray also for the former landlord, that he may be led to put God first and to turn from every idol. The Scriptures teach us that this is the easily besetting sin of our nature, to turn aside from the living God and make idols, and the true work of grace is to make a man say, What have I to do any more with idols. We do not ask God to bless any union or practice outside His holy design, for marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all sexual intimacy belongs within it alone. Where there has been sin in this matter, we pray for conviction, repentance and cleansing through the blood of Christ, and for a new obedience that yields to God as Master and not as servant. May both the brother and the sister, and all concerned, be brought to enthrone the Lord Jesus in their hearts and to seek first His kingdom.

Concerning the apartment which you describe as life threatening and the great wrong and danger you believe you have suffered, we ask the Lord who is slow to anger but will not at all acquit the wicked, to show both mercy and justice. He knows all purposes and all deeds, and whatever He has decreed will come to pass. We pray for your protection and peace, that the Lord will be your tower of strength, that He will expose what needs to be exposed, destroy what dishonors Him, and preserve what is of truth and righteousness. We ask that every idol, whether of gain, of lust, of self or of any created thing, may be abolished and that Christ alone may be exalted. May the God who breaks in pieces what is arrogant and exalts the lowly bring humble hearts to repentance before judgment comes.

We pray that the Lord, who has been faithful to His people in every generation and has kept His Word to all who have trusted Him, will keep you also, give you wisdom for each step, and draw you nearer to Himself through this trial. May you know that a full atonement has been made for sin through Jesus Christ, and may you rest in His unchangeable love and omnipotent strength on your behalf. We ask all these things not upon merit but upon mercy, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
