We come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach You and be saved. We lift up to You, asking that You would draw him close and reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way. Father, we know that no one can come to You unless the Spirit draws them, and so we pray that You would open his eyes to see the truth of Your Word and the beauty of a life surrendered to Christ.
Lord, we ask that You would remove any barriers or distractions that may be keeping from fully embracing You. Whether it be doubt, fear, worldly influences, or past hurts, we rebuke those things in the name of Jesus and ask that You would break their hold over him. Your Word tells us in John 6:44, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day." We trust in Your promise to draw him near and to complete the good work You have begun in him.
We also pray that would come to understand the gravity of sin and the need for repentance. Romans 3:23 reminds us, "For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God." Help him to see his need for a Savior and to turn away from anything that separates him from You. May he experience the freedom and forgiveness that comes only through faith in Jesus Christ.
Father, we ask that You would surround with godly influences, believers who will speak truth into his life and model what it means to walk with You. Let him see the joy and peace that comes from living in obedience to Your Word. We pray that he would hunger and thirst for righteousness, as Jesus promises in Matthew 5:6, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled."
Lord, we also lift up any struggles or temptations may be facing. Strengthen him to resist the enemy’s lies and to stand firm in his faith. Your Word assures us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We claim this promise for and ask that You would give him the strength to overcome.
We pray that would come to know the depth of Your love for him. Help him to understand that You sent Your Son to die for his sins so that he could have eternal life. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." May this truth take root in his heart and transform his life.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would give a heart that seeks after You. May he desire to know You more each day and to live in a way that honors You. We pray that he would find his identity in Christ and walk in the purpose You have for him. In all things, may Your will be done in his life.
We pray these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, knowing that nothing is impossible for You. Amen.

The prayer that has been lifted for this soul, that he find his way to the Lord, is already touching the hem of the great truth: salvation is of the Lord. As we have often declared, "Salvation" is older than creation; it is "of the Lord." No one has helped to provide salvation; God has done it all himself. This is the ground of all our hope for him.
What ails you, poor seeking soul, when Christ is so near? You do not know how near that salvation is to you. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved." The badness of your present condition is no barrier whatever to your salvation if you can now, enabled by divine grace, trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to save you. Leave the whole matter of your salvation with Him in unquestioning confidence. Depend upon Him without fear as to your present and eternal salvation. This is the faith which saves the soul.
Faith must be stirred, for without it there is no salvation. But mark this well: the language is not merely "Believe Him", such belief is a part of faith but not the whole. We must go a step further and trust Him. This faith is believing on a Person, "He that believes on Him." Trust Christ Himself. Let the heart rest upon the living Saviour. That which we privately and personally rest upon for salvation, we are to publicly and emphatically avow to others. For with the heart, man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
Let this be an encouragement to the one who prays: the Lord has to apply it, to make the unwilling willing. The Holy Spirit is the Creator of our faith, be it ever so little. Little faith has only to travel along the royal road, and he shall overtake his stronger brother. Strong faith perseveres in seeking the Lord, and it wears the keys of heaven at its belt.
Let us therefore continue in prayer, rolling this burden upon the Lord. Hast thou faith about the God who answers prayer? Is it habitual with thee to roll thy burden upon the Lord? The Lord teach us to have faith seven days in the week. And when salvation comes, there will be a glad confession: "I will rejoice in thy salvation", not our own by merit, but His own by gift. For all who are saved will ascribe their salvation entirely to the ever blessed God, and join with Jonah, who in the very depths of the sea made this his confession of faith, "Salvation is of the Lord."

How great a treasure you have laid up in simply giving thanks to the Lord Jesus even as you bring this petition. You have not begun by doubting, but by praising the Giver of every good. Hold fast to that. For the salvation of a soul is not a small matter, and when we pray for another to find his way to the Lord, we are asking for nothing less than a miracle of healing. Do you recall how the prophet spoke of those who were unwilling to see, that if they would turn, He would heal them? That word was spoken not to shut the door, but to draw them, to make plain that the Physician stands ready, yearning for their conversion. So your prayer is not against a reluctant God; it is a cry that reaches the very heart of the One who wills all men to be saved.
But take care that in this holy desire you do not seek your own glory. There is a temptation, subtle and swift, to make a display of another’s calamities, or to grow weary and say, “I have prayed long and see nothing.” The enemy of souls would have you despair, for despair ruins the one who prays and cuts off the one prayed for. Do not let your doing good grow tired. Consider Moses: he forsook Egypt, not fearing the king’s wrath, because he endured as seeing the invisible God. So you, when you see no visible change in , endure as seeing the invisible work of grace. The hand that heals is often hidden, but it is not idle.
Let your own life become a book read by all, a constant walking in the divine Scriptures. Adorn your soul with the image of virtue, so that without words you may build him up. For it is possible to destroy a brother for whom Christ died even while intending to help, if we come with harshness or impatience over things that are not essential. Remember that you are not the head to command, but to benefit, to steer like a pilot for his good. Pray, then, with deep humility, and let your prayers be mingled with fasting for him, for the medicines of our salvation are strong. Commit the whole matter to God, and whether affliction or comfort comes, know that both work together for salvation. Do not cease, and do not let him be cut off by your silence or your hopelessness. The deep longing you have is rooted in something true: faith is the only way anyone truly finds their way to God. Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever comes to God must believe that He is, and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. That is the door. No amount of good behavior, no sincerity in trying to live a decent life, can substitute for simple, childlike trust in Jesus Christ.
When we pray for someone in this position, there is often a quiet fear. We wonder if they will ever really listen. But remember that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. The Lord works through His truth. That same grace will sustain you as you wait, and it will be the same grace that opens his eyes when the time is right.
Do not be discouraged if the process takes time or if he seems resistant. The natural mind does not seek after God; it fights for its own peace on its own terms. But the Holy Spirit uses the truth of Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection to break through that. Miracles did not create saving faith in the heart of the rich man’s family in Jesus’ story; only Moses and the prophets, the word of God, could do that. So keep sowing the seed of the word in love, keep praying without ceasing, and trust that God knows his heart entirely.
The life that is truly changed by faith will show it. Real faith does work; it produces works of love and a new direction. You are not asking for a surface adjustment but for the very life of the Son of God to be formed in him. That is exactly what happens when someone is joined to Christ by faith: old things pass away, and all things become new.
So press on in hope. The One who began a good work in you will be faithful to hear your intercession. May your own faith increase as you meditate on these promises, and may your heart be at rest, knowing that the God who justifies through faith is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine.
