Father, it's no small thanks to give You for orchestrating events to answered prayers ending silence and running from your will and replacing it with some movement, some peace and restoration of times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord, Acts 3:19. Thank You for agreement in some small yet important matters. I ask for be filled with wisdom toward outsiders, to walk circumspectly, redeeming the time because the days are evil. Grant me radical return to my 1st Love, Jesus Christ, Rev 3:19-20, that I may freely receive and freely dump love all over everyone within earshot. May Your will, words and love be first and evident in conversations with the youngster, help form a gracious and compassionate view of God, help me and her both hold our tongues, yet realize I hold nothing against her, but put her in your hands. Guard her from evil, hardness of heart and help her receive Your mercy, so she might be merciful to others, or be merciful to others that she might receive mercy, Matt 5:1-10, and let me have creative ways of showing love, learn his love language and he learn mine -- games, short kids Bible movies, counting, English, also let me learn the native tongue and other languages, and keep us all from evil people, imposters, deceivers and avoid these -- 2 Tim 3:5, 2 Tim 3:13, 2 Thes 3:2, Tit 1:16. Only You can let light shine out of darkness, Gen 1:1-3, 2 Cor 4:4-6, and give wisdom and revelation, Eph 1:17. keep us all from temptation and evil, Luke 11:4, Temptation and the evil one, Matt 6:13, deception and the ancient serpent, the dragon, devil and satan, the evil one and deceiver of the world, John 17:15, Rev 12:9, grant open doors for the word of our testimony, which with the blood of the lamb and the power of death destroyed we overcome him, Rev 12:11, for greater is He tat is in us than he that is in the world, 1 John 4:4. Thank you for all this and more, as You are gracius, compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, forgiving iniquity and sin, Ex 34:6-7, for those who come to You You will never cast out, John 6:37. thanking You again is appropriate, we seek Your glory in all these matters, John 7:18, Ps 115:1-3. With thanksgiving we give thanksgiving and offer requests and thank You for the accompanying promises of peace passing comprehension guarding our faculties, Phil 4:6-7, in Jesus' Name, John 14:13-14, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We rejoice with you in the movement of God’s hand, the restoration of refreshing times, and the peace that comes from His presence. Your gratitude is a sweet aroma before the Lord, and we join you in thanking Him for answered prayers and the wisdom to walk circumspectly among those who do not yet know Him. The Scriptures remind us, "See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil" (Ephesians 5:15-16 WEB). Your desire to redeem the time and shine Christ’s light in every conversation is commendable.

Your heart for the young one in your care is deeply moving. We pray that the Lord would indeed guard her heart from hardness and evil, that she would receive His mercy and extend it to others, just as Jesus taught in the Beatitudes: "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy" (Matthew 5:7 WEB). May your interactions with her be filled with grace, patience, and creative expressions of love that point her to the Father. The Lord delights in giving wisdom to those who ask (James 1:5 WEB), and we pray He would grant you discernment in teaching her His ways, whether through language, games, or the timeless truths of Scripture.

Your cry for a radical return to your first love, Jesus Christ, resonates with the Spirit’s work in your life. The church in Ephesus was warned, "Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works" (Revelation 2:4-5 WEB). We pray that the Lord would reignite that passion in you, that your words and actions would overflow with His love, and that you would freely give what you have freely received. May your conversations with her, and with all those around you, be seasoned with salt and full of grace (Colossians 4:6 WEB), reflecting the heart of Christ.

We also lift up your desire to avoid deceivers and evil influences. The world is indeed full of those who oppose the truth, as Paul warned Timothy: "Evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived" (2 Timothy 3:13 WEB). But we take heart in the promise that "He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4 WEB). We pray that the Lord would sharpen your discernment, guard your steps, and open doors for your testimony to shine brightly. May the light of Christ break through every darkness, just as He spoke light into existence in the beginning (Genesis 1:3 WEB), and may your life reflect His glory.

Your prayer also highlights the battle against temptation and the evil one. Jesus taught us to pray, "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one" (Matthew 6:13 WEB), and we join you in that plea. The enemy seeks to devour (1 Peter 5:8 WEB), but we stand firm in the victory of the cross. Through the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, we overcome (Revelation 12:11 WEB). We pray that the Lord would fortify you and the young one in your care, that you would walk in the power of His Spirit and resist every scheme of the devil.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your faithfulness and mercy. We thank You for the answered prayers and the restoration You have brought into this life. Lord, we ask that You fill this dear one with Your wisdom as they walk among those who do not yet know You. Give them discernment to redeem the time and shine Your light in every conversation. Ignite in them a radical love for Jesus, their first love, so that their words and actions overflow with Your grace and truth.

When we’ve felt ourselves drift from that first-love devotion, often the way back is quieter and simpler than we expect. The return begins not with more effort but with stopping just long enough to remember who He is and that you are already His. A few minutes each morning, maybe only a handful of quiet breaths before the day gets loud, can anchor that desire: “Jesus, I’m Yours. Fill me again.” That small opening can become a steady place to receive His affection until it overflows naturally toward everyone within earshot, as you said.

As for the youngster, what you already carry is a beautiful picture of care. Trying to learn a love language or discover a way to connect through games and little movies is exactly the kind of loving attention that makes a child feel safe. This week, maybe choose just one small thing: sit with her through a short Bible film and simply let her lead the conversation afterwards, no agenda. Notice what makes her face soften or what she returns to; that can become a quiet way of building trust and showing her a gracious, companionable God.

The prayer that has ascended from your heart is a tangle of true longings, of holy desires and conscious weakness, and it is well that it is so, for the Lord hears the cry of the needy and does not despise the sigh of the contrite. You ask for a radical return to your First Love, and that is the very core of the matter. You have touched the secret nerve of all spiritual decline. What was our first love? It was a love that thought nothing of self and everything of Christ. It was a love that made sin bitter and the Savior sweet beyond all comparison. How did we lose it? Is it not often by forgetting how much we owe to Him? You have rightly gone back to the great foundation stone, the cross of Christ, for that is the only path back to that first fervor. The love that bled for you when you were in your sins, that loved you before the daystar first proclaimed the morning, that is the love that kindles ours afresh.

Concerning this return, do not think it a small thing that the heart searches itself with the question, “Do I love the Lord or not?” That very fear is a godly fear, a blessed jealousy that the Spirit Himself has stirred. The Lord remembers the kindness of your youth, the love of your espousals, and He prizes those early tokens. Yet He is a jealous God, and He is determined to have all your love. He will not share it with lesser things. The tepid heart must be reheated at the flame of His own abounding love. And what is that love? It is love abounding precisely at the time when we deserve wrath. It is love that declares, “I created you, I formed you,” speaking both of the first creation and of that day when He flashed into your soul the first ray of repentance and the first look of faith. Sustain your soul on this: He who loved you gave Himself for you. He could give no more.

You plead for wisdom toward outsiders and for a guarded walk, and you are right to ask for it, for the days are indeed evil. But remember, the victory you need has already been won. So let us now think ourselves to be victors. Our Lord has won the victory. The grizzly head of the monster Sin is in the hand of our conquering Hero. You speak of the ancient serpent, the devil, and you would avoid imposters and deceivers. You do well to groan over the presence of evil, but do not let the haughty arrogance of the wicked, who walk confidently and talk with disdain, cause your foot to slip. The heel of the Almighty shall be lifted higher than their haughty head. The Philistines may seem mighty, but they fled when their champion fell. Every Israelite that day became a victor through the victory of David. You are more than a conqueror through Him that loved you.

As for the little one committed to your care, in whom you would form a gracious and compassionate view of God, this is a holy labor. You cannot draw her to Christ except the Father draw her, and He uses means. Let your love for her be a spark of that eternal flame of God’s love for you. Be creative in showing love, as you have asked. In this, nothing is too hot or too heavy for a man whose heart is on fire with divine love. Yet in all your doing, let the lifting up of Christ be the test of every method. Does it draw her to trust in Christ? Does it draw her to love Christ? That is the divine operation for which you must look and pray. Hold nothing against her, but put her entirely into the hands of Him who is gracious, compassionate, slow to anger, and abounding in love.

The rest of the prayer, the request for open doors for the word of your testimony, the overcoming by the blood of the Lamb, the keeping from temptation, all this is gathered up in the one grand security: the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. You have the sure token of it if you are looking to Christ alone. This love has given you everlasting consolation for the present and good hope for the future, the hope that when days and years are past we all shall meet in heaven. The ultimate victory of Christ is sure, made certain by a divine promise and guaranteed by the Father Himself. Go, then, in this peace which passes comprehension, for you have not come with a vain repetition of words but with the true entreaties of a soul that knows its own poverty and His infinite fullness.

You speak of wanting to return to your first love, and this is not a small thing. The flame of the Spirit is kindled again when the soul remembers the warmth from which it has fallen. But consider what love truly requires. Many pray for love, yet when they are called to show it without seeing signs and wonders, they grow cold. The great proof that you have returned to Christ is not that you feel fervor in prayer alone, but that you love without demanding pledges from God. To love when you see no immediate fruit, to pour yourself out when the other does not yet respond, this is the love that abides. The Corinthians sought miracles and fell into divisions; but the nobler path is to believe God and cling to the beloved without such props.

You ask for wisdom toward outsiders and for grace in your words with the young one. Here is wisdom enough: make room for her in your heart. Do not merely tolerate or instruct from a distance. Long for her good with the tender mercies of Christ, affection that is warm, glowing, familial. The apostle did not call God to witness lightly, but to show his longing was genuine, without flattery. Examine yourself. Does your heart burn with that same fire for this soul? If you desire her to receive mercy, show her a love that thirsts for her love in return. For nothing kindles love in another so much as knowing the beloved earnestly desires it.

You pray against deceivers and evil people, and this is needful. The days are evil. But the surest guard is not constant fear, but such a rootedness in Christlike love that no imposter can find a foothold. The gospel will go forth and overcome, not because we are shielded from every danger, but because the patience of the saints outlasts every trial. Fear not, neither be troubled. Walk closely with Him, and He will keep you. Let your first love be shown not in seeking consolations, but in honoring the other, in creative kindness that learns their language, that stoops to their small joys. In this, you will find the peace that passes understanding, not as a theory, but as a living reality guarding your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

We love Him because He first loved us, and His love has never cooled. The rekindling happens as you intentionally go back to those simple acts of devotion, those first works of receiving and then freely dumping His love everywhere you go. The depth you are longing for is met by a giving, self-sacrificing love, the kind that doesn’t just feel something but actively gives itself away.

This directly shapes how you love the youngster in your life. You are asking for a gracious and compassionate view of God to be formed in her, and that formation happens most tangibly through you. The love that the Spirit sheds abroad in our hearts is not a mere human affection that can be misinterpreted or run dry. It is a divine, steady, creative love. Learn his language, play the games, wash over him in short, quiet moments of grace. But guard your tongue, as you've asked, especially from any jesting or teasing that might seem harmless but can provoke a child’s spirit to wrath. A wise and loving adult builds security, not frustration. When you hold nothing against her and place her entirely in God’s hands, you are showing mercy, and you are making the way clear for her to receive it too.

The wisdom you need to walk circumspectly toward outsiders and to guard against the evil one, imposters, and deceivers begins with a holy hatred of evil. We live in an age of high tolerance, but wisdom’s very first steps are the fear of the Lord and a decisive turning from what He calls crooked. This is not a harshness toward people but a clear-eyed separation from the spirit of the age. Wisdom cries out with truth, and there is nothing perverse in her words. As you walk in this wisdom, you become a light that gives no occasion for stumbling. And remember, wisdom is not a collection of cold facts, but a person. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. He is that wisdom calling out to you, directing your path to the right action in every situation.

So pray, as you have, to be kept from the evil one. The serpent is the deceiver, but greater is the One who is in you. You overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of your testimony, and that testimony is lived out in a love that does not count its own life dear. This is a love that covers a multitude of sins, your own imperfections and the offenses of others. It is a love that is proven in deed and in truth, not just in words and tongue. As you walk this path, refusing bitterness and choosing to love the unlovely, you will assure your heart before Him. There is no law against such a life, because it is the very fulfillment of the command to love God and your neighbor.

Continue in that thanksgiving, for it is the guardian of your mind. The peace that passes understanding is not the reward for a perfect life; it is the direct fruit of bringing every specific request, with gratitude, to the One who is gracious, compassionate, slow to anger, and abounding in love. You are coming to the One who will never, ever cast you out. What a firm foundation for all you have asked.
