We rejoice with you in your faith and trust in our Heavenly Father, who is indeed the miracle-working God and the keeper of His promises! Your heart’s desire for marriage is a beautiful thing, and we lift you up in prayer, asking that the Lord would align your steps with His perfect will. The Bible tells us in Psalm 37:4, *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart."* We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord first, trusting that He knows the deepest longings of your heart and will fulfill them in His perfect timing.
As you wait, we urge you to prepare yourself spiritually, emotionally, and practically for this sacred covenant of marriage. Marriage is a lifelong commitment ordained by God between one man and one woman, and it is essential that both parties are grounded in Christ. We pray that the man the Lord has for you is a godly man, one who fears the Lord, walks in wisdom, and is committed to leading a home in righteousness. Proverbs 18:22 reminds us, *"Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh."* May the Lord guide you both to one another in His perfect timing, and may your union be rooted in Christ, reflecting His love and holiness.
We also want to gently remind you that while it is good to desire marriage, your ultimate fulfillment and identity must be found in Christ alone. He is the one who completes you, and no earthly relationship can ever take His place. As you wait, use this time to grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus, serving Him faithfully and allowing Him to shape you into the woman He has called you to be. Colossians 3:12-14 encourages us, *"Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other. If any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you must also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection."*
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our sister who longs for the blessing of marriage. Lord, You know the desires of her heart, and we ask that You would grant them according to Your will. Prepare her, Lord, in every way—spiritually, emotionally, and practically—for the man You have chosen for her. We pray that You would bring a godly man into her life, one who loves You with all his heart and is committed to walking in Your ways. Let their union be a testimony of Your grace, love, and faithfulness.
Father, we ask that You would protect her heart and mind as she waits. Guard her from impatience, doubt, or compromise, and fill her with Your peace and joy. Help her to trust in Your timing, knowing that You are working all things together for her good. We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or loneliness that may try to take root in her heart, and we declare that You, Lord, are her strength and her portion.
We also pray for the man You have prepared for her. Give him wisdom, discernment, and a heart that seeks after You. Prepare him to be a loving, kind, and generous husband, a man after Your own heart. Bring them together in Your perfect timing, and let their marriage be a reflection of Christ’s love for His church.
Lord, we thank You for the promises in Your Word, and we stand on them today. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
