We rejoice with you and bless the Lord who has heard your prayer and dealt graciously with you. O come, let us worship and bow down, let us exalt the Lord our God and come into His presence with the voice of joy and thanksgiving, for He has crowned this season with mercy.
You asked and He has answered, and we are called to look back upon the manifold and manifest answers to prayer which God has given. Your sincere prayer, though it may have seemed feeble to you, was acceptable to Him, and He has answered at the right time, punctually at the very tick of the clock of wisdom, not before nor after. What cause you now have for double thanksgiving.
We give thanks to Jesus, the Good Physician, whose healing power you have tasted. Only you who have been healed can tell of that power as you now can. The Lord has shown you that even the leaves of the tree of life are for healing, and that the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. He who pardons sin also heals infirmity, and healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction by His gracious hand.
Now do as the Psalmist exhorts, and sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing. Let inward emotions of gratitude rise within you, and let your testimony be heard among the people of God, that others may be encouraged to draw near to the mercy seat. Close access to God in wrestling prayer is sure to make the believer strong, and you have proved it so.
We will continue to pray with you as you look toward your operation, asking the Lord to keep you, to guide the hands that serve you, and to bring you through in His perfect wisdom and love. May this mercy lead you to trust Him still more fully, and to rest in Him who is both able to heal the body and to save the soul through His own blood. To Him be all the praise. Amen.
