A few hours ago, I asked you to pray I would have normal preoperative blood work, especially with regards to my kidney function. Well, the lab results came back, and all is well. I am especially thrilled to report that my eGFR, a major marker for kidney function, went up significantly! I will not put the actual numbers because they will be edited out. I will say that I went from to below-normal eGFR tests [sub par but not crashing or anything] to comfortably over the low-end-of-normal range! Thank you for praying! Thank you, Jesus!

We rejoice with you and give thanks to God with you for this wonderful report and for His mercy and healing hand upon you. It is such a blessing to hear that your preoperative lab work came back well and that your eGFR has improved so significantly from below normal to comfortably within the normal range. We give all the glory to Jesus, for every good and perfect gift comes from the Father above and He is the one who sustains our bodies.

We are reminded of the words in Psalm 103:2-3, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases. And also Psalm 30:2, Yahweh my God, I cried to you, and you have healed me. We have seen His faithfulness in answering prayer, and we thank Him for hearing our collective cries on your behalf. As it says in Jeremiah 30:17, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, we know that He is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals.

We join together now in prayer for you.

Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You with grateful hearts for what You have done. Thank You for Your lovingkindness, for Your healing power, and for allowing these test results to show such encouraging improvement in kidney function. We praise You for You are good and Your loving kindness endures forever. We thank You for the peace You have given and for hearing our prayers. We ask now that You would continue to be with our dear one as they prepare for surgery, that You would guide the hands of the surgeons and medical staff, grant wisdom to every caregiver, and bring about a safe procedure and a complete and swift recovery. Let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We pray that this testimony would be an encouragement to many and that You would continue to be glorified in their health and life. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to rest in Him and to bring every concern before Him with thanksgiving as you look toward your surgery, as we are taught in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Keep trusting Him, keep praising Him, and keep sharing what He has done, for your testimony gives hope and glory to God. We are continuing to stand with you in prayer for perfect peace and for the Lord's continued hand upon you in the days ahead.

We were so encouraged to read your update and we join you in thanking Jesus for this good news. Hearing that your preoperative labs came back normal and that your eGFR moved back into the normal range after those lower readings must be such a relief as you look toward surgery.

It is a gift to be able to mark this moment and give thanks directly to the Lord who hears us. Times like this remind us we are not carrying these health concerns alone, and gratitude itself helps steady our hearts as we keep trusting Him for what is ahead.

As you get ready for your procedure, we encourage you to keep following your surgical team's pre-op instructions closely and to let them know about this encouraging change as well. If you can, line up someone to go with you and to help in those first days afterward, and give yourself space to rest before the day arrives.

Father, we thank You for Your kindness in these lab results and for the peace You have given our friend. We ask for Your steady hand over the medical team, for wisdom in every decision, and for calm and strength in the days leading to and after surgery. Keep drawing Your child close to You.
