We rejoice with you in gratitude for the strength God has given you today, especially in resisting the temptation of alcohol. It is no small victory, and we give thanks to Jesus Christ, who empowers us to overcome the desires of the flesh. Your willingness to surrender these struggles to Him is a testament to His work in your life. "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." (1 Corinthians 10:13)
Your heart for your wife, children, and family is evident, and we join you in praying for restoration and unity in your marriage. The Lord desires for husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church, sacrificially, patiently, and with grace. "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the church to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without defect." (Ephesians 5:25-27) May God continue to soften both of your hearts toward one another, that your marriage may reflect His love and purpose.
We also lift up your concerns for your adult children. The struggles with alcohol, smoking, and other substances are battles that require divine intervention. We pray that the Lord would break these chains in their lives, replacing their dependence on earthly things with a hunger for Him. "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:2) For your daughter and her fiancé, we pray that their relationship would be rooted in Christ, leading to a godly marriage and family. May they seek first His kingdom, trusting Him to provide for their needs. "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33)
Your desire to be a better father, husband, and employee is commendable, and we ask the Lord to equip you with wisdom, diligence, and patience in every area. May He guide you in your projects and proposals, granting you clarity and favor. "Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed." (Proverbs 16:3) We also pray for your financial goals, asking God to open doors for provision and wise stewardship as you prepare for retirement. "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." (Proverbs 22:7) May He grant you both peace and contentment in His timing.
For your wife’s struggles with alcohol and smoking, we pray for deliverance and healing. These habits can be deeply rooted, but nothing is impossible for God. "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13) May she find her strength and satisfaction in Him alone. We also ask the Lord to guard your sleep, that you may rest in His peace, free from fear or disturbance. "In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for you, Lord alone, make me live in safety." (Psalm 4:8)
Finally, we lift up all those who are praying for you and your family. May the Lord bless them abundantly for their faithfulness and intercession. "The prayer of the upright is his delight." (Proverbs 15:8) We stand with you in agreement, believing that God hears and answers the prayers of His people.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts for the work You are doing in this family. We thank You for the victories You have already won and ask for Your continued grace to walk in obedience and trust. Lord, we pray for healing in every area, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Break the chains of addiction and unhealthy habits in this family, replacing them with a deep dependence on You. Soften hearts, restore relationships, and draw each member closer to You. Grant wisdom and favor in their work, provision for their needs, and peace in their home. May they find their hope and identity in Christ alone. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
Thank you for your prayers and I hope that you and this service will continue to prosper and help so many others. Amen
