Thank you for sharing your need and asking for prayer for the swelling in your legs and feet. We are joining you in prayer right now in the name of Jesus.
We believe God is able to heal, and we also want to be honest about what Scripture teaches concerning healing. On one hand, the prophet Isaiah spoke of the suffering of the coming Savior, and Matthew under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit applies that prophecy to physical healing when Jesus healed all who were brought to Him. That helps us see that Christ's suffering was not only for the forgiveness of sin but also touches our physical brokenness, which is why when we remember the bread of communion we remember His body broken for us.
On the other hand, Scripture also shows us that healing does not come in the same way or at the same time for everyone. Paul prayed three times for what he called a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet him, and the Lord did not remove it. God’s answer was to give grace to endure it. The Bible also teaches that gifts of healing are given by the Spirit as He wills, and asks, do all have gifts of healing, and the expected answer is no. This reminds us that we can trust God’s power while also trusting His wisdom and sovereignty.
There is much about healing we do not fully understand. Sometimes God heals instantly, as when Peter in faith lifted the lame man to his feet and strength came at once. Sometimes healing is gradual, as in the one recorded case where a man’s sight returned in stages. And often God heals through the ordinary processes He built into our bodies. Every healing process is from Him, for He is the Creator of nature and of the ways our bodies mend. He can heal directly and He can heal through the skill of doctors and the care they provide, and both are divine in the sense that they come from His hand.
So we pray for you with both faith and submission to His will. We ask the Lord to touch your legs and feet, to reduce the swelling, to reveal any underlying cause and to guide those caring for you. We pray for relief from discomfort, for restored strength to stand and walk with ease, and for peace as you wait on Him. Whether His healing comes quickly, gradually, or through ongoing treatment, we ask Him to make His presence and comfort very real to you and to use even this trial to strengthen your spiritual life as you lean on Him.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. You see the swelling in the legs and feet and You know the cause. We ask for Your healing touch. Lay Your hand upon this body, ease the inflammation, restore healthy circulation and function, and grant wisdom to any medical help that is sought. Give peace, patience, and confidence in Your love, and let Your will be done. We trust You for what is best and thank You that You hear prayer through Jesus our Lord. Amen.
