Thank you for sharing this need about the swelling in your legs and feet. I am praying for you now and asking the Lord to bring relief and healing in Jesus name.

Scripture shows us that God does care about our physical bodies and that healing is part of what Jesus accomplished. When Matthew writes about Jesus healing many people who were brought to Him, he connects it to the prophecy of Isaiah that He took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. That helps us see that the suffering of Christ was not only for the forgiveness of sin but also touches our physical needs. When Jesus broke the bread and said this is my body which is broken for you, He was inviting us to remember that His body was given for our wholeness in every part, spirit, soul and body.

At the same time the Bible keeps us from presuming that God will bring immediate physical healing in every case in the way we expect. Paul prayed three times about his thorn in the flesh, which he described as a messenger of Satan buffeting him, and the Lord did not remove it. And the Scriptures teach that gifts of healing are given by the Spirit as He wills. Paul asks, do all have gifts of healing, and the expected answer is no. The body has many members and not everyone is given the same gift. That reminds us that healing comes from God according to His wisdom and not because we have a certain formula.

There is also much about healing that we do not fully understand. If we were in the place of God we would likely heal everyone immediately, but God sees what we cannot see. Sometimes Jesus healed instantly, and at least once the healing came gradually. Sometimes He heals directly and miraculously, and sometimes He heals through the ordinary processes He has built into our bodies. Any true healing process is from Him, for He created nature and the natural processes of restoration that work within us. He also brings healing that is emotional and spiritual, bringing peace to the mind and heart even while the body is still waiting for strength.

So I will pray for the Lord to touch your legs and feet, to reduce the swelling and to restore health, whether that comes through a sudden touch or through a gradual recovery and the wisdom of medical care. Please continue to seek appropriate medical help as well, trusting that God can work through those means too. And I pray that even now He will give you comfort, peace and assurance of His presence and love.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I lift up this need to You. You see the pain and discomfort of swollen legs and feet and You know the cause. I ask that You would lay Your hand upon this body and bring healing according to Your will. Ease the swelling, restore circulation and strength, and give wisdom to any doctors or caregivers involved. Above all give a deep sense of Your nearness and peace, and help trust to remain in Your goodness whether the answer comes quickly or over time. Amen.
