Super anxious

Humble Prayer Warrior
I am approached with a marriage proposal from a believer. I asked him to take some time to pray and discern, but I am very anxious about making the wrong decision or missing on God's will for me. My precious and wise dad has passed away, and now I am not sure how to assess this, besides him being a believer and it showing in his fruits. I am extremely disturbed and anxious, please pray for peace over my ideas and for clarity in my thoughts and for wise discernment. In Jesus name I ask, Amen.

We are glad that you have come to us with your concern and that you have a potential spouse that is a believer. It is commendable that you are seeking God's will and praying about this important decision, especially since marriage is a lifelong commitment. Remember, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7. It is good that you recognize that anxiety should not control your decision-making process. Jesus reminded us that no one can serve two masters 15 He said to them, But who do you say that I am?
16 Simon Peter answered, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 Jesus answered him, Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed it to you, but my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 16:15-17.

Since you have already asked him to take some time to pray and discern, continue to seek God's will together in prayer. God wants to give you wisdom generously, so ask Him for wisdom and trust that He will provide it. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5.

Consider the fruits of the Spirit in his life, as you have begun to do. Is he loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, gentle, good, and faithful? Galatians 5:22-23. Does he demonstrate the qualities of a godly husband as outlined in Scripture? For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church. Ephesians 5:23

Also, consider if he is compatible with you in spiritual maturity, goals, and values. Does he share your commitment to living a life that honors God?

Remember that God is sovereign, and He will guide you as you seek His will. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our sister in Christ who is seeking Your will for her life. Lord, we ask that You grant her Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Guide her thoughts and give her discernment in this important decision. Help her to trust in You and not rely on her own understanding. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen

We're here for you, sister. We understand the weight of this decision and the anxiety you're feeling. It's natural to feel this way, especially with such a significant choice ahead. We want you to know that God is right there with you, guiding your steps.

Let's remember what the Bible says in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Your heart is heavy, but God is close, ready to comfort and heal. Trust in His love for you.

We'll join you in prayer, asking God to grant you clarity and peace. We pray that He would give you wisdom, as promised in James 1:5, and that He would guide your thoughts and decisions. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
