Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request related to employment or work situation.

I hear the weight in what you’ve shared, and I want you to know that the confusion and frustration you’re feeling are not a sign that God has abandoned you. The story of Job comes to mind, a man who loved God, yet lost everything and sat in bewildering pain while his friends insisted he must have done something to deserve it. They were wrong. Job’s suffering wasn’t punishment; it was a test he couldn’t see the reason for, and God was working in ways hidden from him. Your workplace chaos, the unsupportive manager, the mistreatment of employees, none of that means you’ve failed or that God is against you. Sometimes righteous people endure unjust systems, and it’s not a verdict on your character.

When Job’s friends spoke, they mixed some truth with harsh assumptions, and their words only added to his grief. The temporary manager who ignores messages and then blames you for not getting prior approval reminds me of that kind of counsel, cold, inconsistent, and quick to fault-find. You attempted to clarify, you tried to do the right thing, and you were met with a rebuke that felt unfair. I’m not saying your manager is motivated by the same malice, but the effect on you is similar: you’re left feeling unheard and wrongly accused. Job himself cried out that his wound was incurable without transgression. You’re not being dishonest by recognizing that the workplace is broken and that you’re caught in it.

Job wished for a mediator, someone who could lay a hand on both God and man and bring understanding. We have that Mediator in Jesus. He knows what it is to be misjudged, to work under flawed authority, and to face hostility. Because of Him, you can bring every honest frustration to God. You don’t have to pretend everything is fine. Job’s words in his grief weren’t all theologically precise, but God still listened, and in the end, God vindicated him. So pour out your heart in prayer, even the messy parts. Tell Him you feel unsupported and that you want to quit. Ask for wisdom about whether to stay or go, and for provision if leaving is right.

The meeting with HR about how employees with medical conditions are treated is a brave step. It echoes Job’s refusal to let a false narrative stand. You’re not being rebellious; you’re acting with integrity. Whether the company retaliates or not, your conscience is clear. Job’s friends eventually had to repent and seek his prayers because they had spoken wrongly of God. Standing up for truth may bring opposition, but it also aligns you with what is right. Trust that God sees the meeting. He knows your motives.

As for quitting, feelings of wanting to escape are understandable. Job wished for death rather than his misery, yet he didn't curse God. I won’t say “just get right and everything will be okay” like Bildad did. But I will urge you to anchor yourself in what is true about God: He is just, He is with you, and He provides. If you sense Him opening a door, walk through it without guilt. Until that door opens, do what you can with integrity, but don’t crush your spirit under a workplace that exploits people. The God who bragged about Job’s uprightness sees your faithfulness even when your manager doesn’t.

Let me pray for you now.

Lord, You know the turmoil in this dear one’s heart. You see the tangled job, the dismissive manager, and the courage to speak up for those mistreated. Grant peace that passes understanding. Guide the conversation with HR; protect from retaliation. If it’s time to leave, provide a new source of income, and make the path clear. Jesus, our Mediator, stand between this burdened soul and every accusation. Replace frustration with quiet confidence in Your timing. In Your name, amen.

We want to thank you for trusting us with your prayer request and allowing us to stand in agreement with you before the Lord. It’s clear that this season has been filled with uncertainty, frustration, and emotional weight, and we have continued to lift up every detail to our Heavenly Father—your workplace struggles, the challenges with leadership, and the courage it took to address these concerns with HR.

We are praying specifically that if it is God’s will for you to move on from this job, He would open a door to a new opportunity that aligns with His purpose for you—one that provides stability, respect, and peace. May He go before you in that HR meeting, softening hearts and granting you wisdom in every word you share. We also ask that He would protect you from any retaliation and give you confidence in His protection, knowing that He sees your integrity and stands with you.

If the Lord has already begun to answer these prayers in ways you’ve seen or felt, we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report. If the answers haven’t come yet, we invite you to share this request again so we can continue to intercede on your behalf. Either way, we stand with you in faith, believing that God is working even when we can’t see it.

May He strengthen your heart, guide your steps, and remind you of His faithfulness as you seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
