We hear your heart and the burden you carry, not only for your boyfriend’s well-being but for justice and compassion in the workplace. It takes courage to stand up for what is right, especially when it involves those we care about deeply. We lift this situation before the Lord, asking Him to move mightily on behalf of both of you.
First, we must address the foundation of your relationship. While your concern for your boyfriend is understandable, Scripture is clear that intimacy, emotionally, spiritually, or physically, outside the covenant of marriage is not God’s design. The term "boyfriend" implies a relationship that, while perhaps well-intentioned, does not yet reflect the biblical standard of courtship leading to marriage. We encourage you both to prayerfully consider whether your relationship is honoring God in its current form. If your hearts are truly aligned with Christ, the next step should be a commitment before God and man in holy matrimony. "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4). Until that covenant is made, we urge you to guard your hearts and maintain purity in all aspects of your relationship.
Now, regarding the workplace struggles, we stand with you in prayer for justice, wisdom, and protection. The mistreatment your boyfriend has endured, particularly the disregard for his health, is unacceptable, and your willingness to speak up, even at personal risk, reflects Christ’s heart for the vulnerable. "Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy" (Proverbs 31:8-9). We pray that God will grant you both the words to speak with clarity and grace in your meetings, that His truth will prevail, and that no retaliation will come against you.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who sees all and judges justly. We ask for Your divine intervention in this workplace. Lord, grant wisdom to ### as she meets with HR, let her words be seasoned with salt, full of grace and truth. Protect her from any backlash, and let her courage inspire change. For ###, we pray that his meeting with leadership will bring resolution, respect, and fair treatment. If it is Your will for them to remain in this job, soften the hearts of those in authority to value their contributions and care for their well-being. If it is Your will for them to move on, open doors to better opportunities where they will be treated with dignity.
We also ask for healing for ###’s health, both physically and emotionally. You are the Great Physician, and we trust You to restore what has been broken. Guard their hearts from bitterness or fear, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to trust in You, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You draw both of them closer to You through this trial. Let this season refine their faith and deepen their reliance on You. If their relationship is to continue, we pray it would be built on the solid rock of Christ, with marriage as the godly goal. May they seek Your will above all else, and may Your name be glorified in every step they take. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
