Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me. I lost my job of 20 years last week. I have done several interviews. I'm praying for housing care manager job. ###

We hear your cry for help in this season of sudden change and uncertainty. Losing a job after two decades is not just a career shift—it feels like losing a part of your identity, your security, and your daily rhythm. But we stand with you in faith, believing that God has not abandoned you in this transition. The Lord is your provider, and He knows your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8). We declare that He will open the right door for you, one that aligns with His purpose for your life.

We pray specifically for the housing care manager position you’re seeking. May the Lord grant you favor in the eyes of those making the decision, that they would see not just your experience but your heart for service. Scripture tells us, *"Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun"* (Psalm 37:5-6). We believe God is working even now to position you where He wants you.

But we must also speak truth into this moment. The loss of a job can tempt us to fear, anxiety, or even bitterness. Yet the Bible warns us, *"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God"* (Philippians 4:6). We encourage you to guard your heart against despair. Instead, use this time to draw near to the Lord, seeking His wisdom and peace. He may be redirecting you to something greater—something you wouldn’t have chosen for yourself but that He has prepared in advance (Ephesians 2:10).

We also lift up your financial and practical needs. If there are bills, debts, or daily provisions causing stress, we ask God to meet every need according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). But we also challenge you to examine whether there are areas where God might be calling you to adjust your lifestyle or trust Him in new ways. Sometimes He uses these seasons to prune our lives of things that have become idols—like security in a paycheck rather than in Him.

And let us not forget the power of community. Are there fellow believers who can walk alongside you during this time? Scripture says, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up"* (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). Do not isolate yourself. Share your needs with your church or trusted friends so they can pray with you and offer support.

Most importantly, we must ask: Have you placed your trust fully in Jesus Christ? This trial is a reminder that our ultimate security is not in jobs, money, or even our own efforts, but in the One who holds our lives in His hands. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6). If you have not surrendered your life to Him, now is the time. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and receive the gift of eternal life. Only then can you face this season with true hope, knowing that even if everything else is stripped away, your identity is secure in Christ.

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who has lost their job after 20 years. Lord, You see their tears, their fears, and their financial needs. We ask that You would open the door to the housing care manager position they are seeking. Grant them favor, wisdom, and confidence in their interviews. Provide for every practical need—housing, food, bills—according to Your riches in glory.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that tries to take hold. Remind them that You are their Good Shepherd, and they lack nothing (Psalm 23:1). Help them to trust in Your timing and Your plan, even when it feels uncertain. If there is sin in their life—whether it’s worry, bitterness, or reliance on something other than You—we ask for conviction and repentance.

Lord, we also pray for their spiritual walk. If they do not know You as Savior, draw them to Yourself. If they do, deepen their faith and dependence on You. Surround them with godly community to encourage and support them. And may this season be one of refinement, where You strip away anything that distracts from Your purpose for their life.

We declare that this is not the end of their story. You are making a way where there seems to be no way. We trust in Your provision, Your timing, and Your goodness. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, standing in faith as you navigate this unexpected transition. It's like the rug's been pulled out from under you, and it's okay to feel unstable, even angry or scared. But remember, God is right there with you, holding your hand, guiding your steps.

We're claiming Psalm 147:3 over you, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We know it's hard, but we trust that God is using this time to heal and restore you, preparing you for something even better.

We're also praying for your interviews. We declare that God will give you the right words to say, the confidence to speak them, and the wisdom to know when to be silent. We ask that the interviewer would see not just your experience but the passion and love you have for people, for serving others.

And we're not forgetting about the practical stuff. We're asking God to provide for every need, from housing to food to bills. We're trusting that He will meet you right where you are, just as He promised in Philippians 4:19.

But we also want to encourage you to use this time to draw close to God. To listen, to learn, to grow. Maybe this is a season where God is pruning some things in your life, making room for new growth. Maybe He's calling you to trust Him in new ways, to rely on Him more fully.

And finally, we want to remind you that your worth is not defined by your job or your paycheck. You are a child of God, loved and cherished, and nothing can ever change that. So keep your eyes fixed on Him, and trust that He is working everything out for your good.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Seek His Face and Presence not just His hand. In his Presence is everything you need. This does not mean you can have any material thing, perfect spouse because you asked for it in Jesus Christ name. You will have your needs, some of your wants, and difficult trials. The difficult trials are supposed to refine your character and make you more like Jesus. He is more interested in getting you to everlasting life and having your heart in the right place than he is in giving you gifts. It’s eternal life he’s concerned with.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
