Summary (due to privacy): A specific job application.

Beloved of All
There is a specific job application that asks whether or not the applicant is receiving SNAP. This is for the company’s tax credits and they are willing to hire recipients. I am asking the slots in Jesus name if I should apply. It’s a part time job which I am open to.

We hear your request and understand your desire to seek the Lord’s guidance regarding this job opportunity. It is wise to bring such decisions before God, asking for His will to be done in your life. The Bible encourages us to seek wisdom in all things, as James 1:5 tells us, *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."*

First, let us address the mention of applying "in Jesus' name." We are grateful you included this, for it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Acts 4:12 reminds us, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* It is good to approach every decision with the acknowledgment that our lives belong to Him, and we desire to walk in His ways.

Now, regarding the job application itself, we must consider a few things. The question about receiving SNAP benefits is not inherently sinful, as it pertains to the company’s eligibility for tax credits. However, we should prayerfully examine our motives and ensure that we are not being dishonest or manipulative in any way. Proverbs 16:2 warns us, *"All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weighs the motives."* If you are currently receiving these benefits and the question is asked in good faith, answering truthfully is the right course of action. Deception, even in small matters, is not pleasing to the Lord.

That said, we must also consider whether this job aligns with God’s provision for your life. Part-time work can be a blessing, especially if it allows you to serve the Lord in other ways, such as ministry, family, or personal growth. However, we should also be cautious of any potential pitfalls, such as a workplace culture that may not honor God or a schedule that could pull you away from your spiritual priorities. Colossians 3:23-24 encourages us, *"And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."*

Let us also remember that God is our ultimate provider. While it is good to seek employment, we must not place our trust in a job—or in government assistance—but in the Lord alone. Philippians 4:19 assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* If this job is part of His provision, He will open the door. If not, He will lead you to something better.

We will now pray for you, asking the Lord to guide your steps and reveal His will in this matter.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, seeking Your wisdom and direction for our brother/sister in this decision. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, and You know what is best for their life. We ask that You would make Your will clear regarding this job opportunity. If this position is part of Your plan, open the door wide and grant favor in the application process. If it is not Your will, close the door gently and lead them to the path You have prepared.

Father, we pray that You would guard their heart against any temptation to be dishonest or to rely on anything other than You for provision. Help them to walk in integrity and to trust in Your promises. Give them peace as they wait on You, and fill them with confidence that You are working all things together for their good.

Lord, we also ask that You would bless their efforts in seeking employment. Whether through this job or another, provide for their needs abundantly. Help them to see every opportunity as a chance to serve You and to bring glory to Your name.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness and Your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

In closing, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord’s guidance through prayer and Scripture. Trust that He will direct your steps, and be open to His leading, even if it looks different from what you expect. If this job is not the right fit, do not be discouraged—God has something better in store. Keep your heart aligned with His Word, and He will never lead you astray.

We're right there with you, friend, as you navigate this job application process. It's a big decision, and we're glad you're seeking God's guidance in it. We believe that God is interested in even the smallest details of our lives, and He wants to guide us in all our ways.

We're impressed that you're asking for prayer in Jesus' name. That's the key to accessing the Father's heart. As it says in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." So, let's keep praying in Jesus' name, trusting that He will lead us in the right direction.

Now, about this job application. It's great that you're open to a part-time job. Sometimes, these opportunities can be a real blessing, allowing us to serve God in other areas of our lives. But remember, we should always be mindful of whether a job aligns with God's will for us. We should ask ourselves if it's a place where we can honor God, if it allows us to maintain our spiritual priorities, and if it's a place where we can grow and serve Him.

Let's also remember that God is our ultimate provider. He promises in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." So, we can trust that if this job is part of His plan, He will open the door. If not, He will lead us to something better.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, asking for Your wisdom and guidance in this job application. Lord, You know the desires of our heart, and You know what's best for us. We ask that You would make Your will clear in this situation. If this job is part of Your plan, open the door wide and grant favor in the application process. If it's not Your will, close the door gently and lead us to the path You have prepared.

Father, we also ask that You would guard our heart against any temptation to be dishonest or to rely on anything other than You for provision. Help us to walk in integrity and to trust in Your promises. Give us peace as we wait on You, and fill us with confidence that You are working all things together for our good.

Lord, we also ask that You would bless our efforts in seeking employment. Whether through this job or another, provide for our needs abundantly. Help us to see every opportunity as a chance to serve You and to bring glory to Your name.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Keep trusting in God's faithfulness and timing. If this job isn't the right fit, don't be discouraged. God has something better in store. Keep your heart aligned with His Word, and He will never lead you astray.

I applied for a job and applications close tomorrow. It's the perfect job for me. It fits my skills and experience, it's meaningful work in a nonprofit, and it's part time which means I can finish my masters and be there for my kids. Please, please please, pray that I get this.
