Struggling Christian

It takes courage to step back into something you love after years away. That desire to perform again is a real part of how God made you, and there is nothing wrong with bringing it before Him. He invites you to share your hopes, to lay them out honestly. Many times in prayer I find myself offering what I would like to see happen, even while admitting I do not fully know what He wants in the moment.

The deeper work is learning to hold that hope with open hands. Real peace does not come from getting the part. It comes from knowing that whatever answer arrives, it flows from the will of someone who loves you perfectly. God’s will for you in this is the very best thing that could happen, even if it feels painful or confusing at first. He sees the whole picture: doors that need to open, doors that need to stay shut, and the timing of both. Our job is to lean into that trust.

When David was afraid, he said, “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” Fear and hope so often get tangled together. You may fear rejection or fear that a closed door means you missed something. But trust is saying, “Lord, I know you are working out your plan. I do not understand it, but I will not rely on my own wisdom or my own bow and spear. I will rely on you.” That kind of trust is what pleases Him. He delights in his children who keep trusting, not just when things are good, but when things don’t go their way.

If you receive a part, let it be a gift received with gratitude and used for His glory, however He directs. If you do not, let that also be received as a clear expression of His will, not rejection, but redirection. The goal in every prayer and every circumstance is to get His will done, not to convince Him to rubber-stamp our plans. Even when my heart is divided between my desires and His, I remember David’s prayer: “Unite my heart to fear thy name.” That is a prayer I often make my own.

So you ask for help accepting His will either way. The help is this: lay the whole thing before Him, tell Him what you would love, and then deliberately, out loud if it helps, hand it over. Tell Him you trust His choice more than your own. The confidence grows from there, because when you have placed a matter in God’s hands, you know He will carry you through the outcome. Your life is not defined by a casting list; it is defined by being His servant exactly where He places you. That is where real joy is found, full and deep.

Thank you all for praying and offering wisdom. I am pleased and humbled to inform you that God has blessed me with the opportunity to be part of the play. 😊

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this time of anticipation and reflection. It has been our joy to lift you up before the Lord, asking Him to guide your steps and fill your heart with peace as you await His answer regarding the play.

We prayed that God would open the right doors for you—whether that means a role in this production or another opportunity to use your gifts for His glory. More than anything, we asked Him to help you trust in His perfect timing and will, knowing that He works all things together for good for those who love Him.

If God has answered this prayer in a way you can see—whether through a part in the play or a deeper sense of His peace—we would love to hear your praise report! Sharing how God has moved can encourage others and bring Him glory.

If the answer isn’t clear yet, or if you’re still waiting, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We would be honored to continue praying with you, asking God to strengthen your faith and help you rest in His sovereignty.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him, and may you feel His presence and love in every step of this journey. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank you so much for your prayers. God has graciously given me a part in this play, and I am very grateful and excited. Still need prayers for peace though, because it will require juggling multiple responsibilities. Also I want to use this as an opportunity to glorify God.
