strong storms

Tachick

Faithful Servant
Please pray that God will have mercy on us and keep the strong storms away from us and if it is His will we can keep power because of the heat. Please ask Him to guard our lives, keep trees and limbs up and protects our homes. Thank you and God bless you. I ask in the name of Jesus. ###

We come before the Lord Almighty with humble hearts, lifting up this request for protection from the storms that threaten. We know that our God is sovereign over all creation, and even the winds and waves obey His voice. We ask that You would indeed have mercy and hold back these storms if it is Your will, sparing lives, homes, and power from their destructive force. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, and we trust in Your protection.

Father, we pray that You would guard every life in the path of these storms. We ask that You would keep trees and limbs from falling, shielding homes and property from harm. You are the One who commands the morning and causes the dawn to know its place, who stirs up the sea with Your power. We ask that You would calm the winds and still the storms, just as You did for Your disciples on the Sea of Galilee. "He said to them, 'Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?' Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm" (Matthew 8:26 WEB).

We also pray for wisdom and preparedness for those who may be in the path of these storms. Give them discernment to take necessary precautions and to trust in You above all else. Remind them that even in the midst of the storm, You are with them. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling" (Psalm 46:1-3 WEB).

Lord, we acknowledge that You are in control, and we surrender our fears and anxieties to You. Help us to trust in Your goodness and Your perfect will, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, through whom we have access to Your throne of grace.

May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as we wait on You. Amen.

We’re praying with you right now, asking God to stretch His mercy over you and your home as the storms move in. It’s completely human to feel that knot of fear when the forecast turns threatening, especially with the heat building and the very real possibility of losing power. We stand with you in asking Him to keep the worst of it away, to hold trees and limbs in place, and to shield every life under your roof.

One thing that often helps us when anxiety starts to swirl is taking a small, practical step, not as a replacement for trust, but as a way to anchor it. If you haven’t already, maybe gather a few flashlights, some water, and a charged power bank, and keep your phone nearby for weather alerts. Those simple preparations can calm the part of our minds that feels helpless, freeing us to focus on the steady presence of Christ rather than the sound of the wind.

Father, we ask for Your mercy over this household. Quiet these storms or guide them away, and if it aligns with Your will, let the power stay on so the heat doesn’t become another burden. Guard every life, secure every branch and roof, and wrap this family in Your peace, the kind that doesn’t depend on calm skies. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Your cry has reached us, and we join our hearts with yours before the Throne of Grace. In days when the skies brood and the winds rise in fury, it is sweet to remember that the God of mercy goes before us, and His compassions fail not; they are new every morning, great is His faithfulness. We plead with you that He would command the storm, and in His greatness of power curb the wrath of the elements; that His mercy would spread a coverture around your home, for “He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings shall you trust.” What tenderness is here! Not mere protection as a soldier gives, but the homely shelter of a mother bird.

And if the heat should linger and the wires fail, ask that He who spared not His own Son would also supply this need according to His riches in glory. But mark this: all mercy comes Gratis, through Christ the Door. It is not because we deserve it, but because He delights in mercy. Rest, then, in the cleft of the Rock; hide under the shadow of His wings until these calamities be overpast.

We pray He will guard your lives, hold up every limb, and make your dwelling a safe shelter. Even so, come what may, His mercy shall not fail to overtake you with good. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

When the disciples cried out in the storm, the Lord did not straightway calm the sea, but He let the winds rage a while longer, that they might the more earnestly seek Him. Then at the right moment, He spoke: "It is I, be not afraid." With those words, He cast out both the tempest and their terror. So now, when you see the clouds gather and the trees bend, know that He who rules the winds is near. He allows these things, not to destroy you, but to draw your soul to heaven, where no storm can reach. Make your heart a bright and tranquil sky, for the Christian who trusts in God is higher than the rains and the lightnings, and the Sun of Righteousness shines there always.

Yet you ask not only for safety, but for the mercy of God. Then show mercy yourself. The same Scripture that calms the storm bids you remember the poor. Almsgiving is a holy oil that kindles light in darkness and delivers from eternal ruin. When you stretch out your hand to the needy, you open heaven's door for your own prayers. Nothing so inclines the Lord to compassion as a pitiful heart. Forgive every debt, hold no grudge, and your own cry for mercy will rise swift and powerful. Let not your care be fixed entirely on the house of wood and stone, nor on the fleeting comfort of electric power. These things pass; but the soul that is garnished with mercy and faith is a house that can never fall.

Know this: the same God who endured with much long-suffering the vessels of wrath is rich in mercy toward those whom He has prepared for glory. If the storm comes, He will be your shield; if it passes, your thanksgiving. Whether He preserves the power lines or not, His grace is sufficient for you. The heat of the day is a school of patience, and the calm after the gale a token of His power. I will pray that He sends His angels to guard your lives and homes, that the trees stand firm, and that no limb be cast down to harm you. But above all, I will ask that He keep your soul from the storms of sin and fear, and that you may obtain mercy in the day of Christ Jesus. So be it.

The fear that rises when the skies darken and the winds begin to howl is deeply human. Our thoughts immediately race to what we might lose, to the safety of our homes, to the fragile thread that keeps the lights on and the heat at bay. You have done the right thing by taking that fear and planting it squarely before the throne of grace. The Scriptures remind us that we can prepare a horse for the day of battle, we can charge our devices and trim our trees, but true safety comes from the Lord alone. Unless the Lord guards the house, the watchmen stay awake in vain. He is the one who keeps the city, and He is the one who can keep your home and your life in the hollow of His hand.

Think of that moment on the Sea of Galilee when the storm was so violent the boat was filling with water and sinking. The seasoned fishermen were panicking, certain they were about to go down. And where was Jesus? He was in the back of the boat, asleep on a cushion. The storm did not disturb His peace because the storm was never a threat to His authority. When they woke Him in terror, He did not panic with them. He rebuked the wind and the waves, and then He turned and rebuked the disciples, asking them, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?" The ship was full of water, the danger was real, yet the real issue was not the storm outside but the unbelief inside. He is asking us the same question when our hearts pound against our ribs at the sound of the siren or the crack of thunder.

We often look at the brute force of nature and feel the weight of our own powerlessness. We are like those sailors driven across the sea for fourteen days without seeing the sun or stars, despairing of life itself, unable to govern their own destiny. Yet, in that terrifying journey, the Lord was at the helm the entire time. The storm was not a random act of chaos; it was a directed path. It was carrying Paul to an island called Malta because God knew there were people there whose hearts were open. He who sits above the storm has purposes that the lightning flash cannot illuminate. You pray for mercy, and that is exactly what He delights to give. Unto God belongs power, and unto the Lord belongs mercy. His power has no boundary known to man; out of His infinite riches, He gives and gives again.

I understand the longing for power to stay on, for the hum of the air conditioner to continue. That is a prayer for daily bread, for a respite from the oppressive heat. Our souls can feel as parched and barren as David’s did in the wilderness of Judah. David cried out, "I desire to see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary." He was using the physical barrenness to speak of his soul's thirst. It is not wrong to ask God for physical comfort; He knows we need these things. But let the external threat drive you deeper into the sanctuary of His presence. His lovingkindness is better than life itself. Let this storm be an opportunity to see His power and glory in a fresh way, not just in the clearing skies, but in the peace He gives while the wind still blows.

Do not let the enemy or the circumstance taunt you into thinking God is distant. He is with you in the storm. The great secret of the Christian life is not that we can control the weather by some formula, but that we have a refuge, a shelter from the storm. God is our rock; He is the symbol of unchanging strength when everything else is shifting sand. As you wait, listen for that still, small voice that calms the inner tempest. May He grant you the power to live not in reaction to the howling wind, but in response to His indwelling Spirit. May the Lord bless you, and may He do for you what you cannot do for yourself, keeping you safe in Jesus’ name.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with your heartfelt request for God’s protection during these storms. It was our privilege to stand with you in prayer, lifting up your safety, your home, and your community before the Lord. We asked Him to hold back the winds, steady the trees, and keep the power on if it aligned with His will—all while covering you in His peace.

If God has answered these prayers in any way—whether through still skies, preserved power, or simply the comfort of His presence—we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the storms still loom or the situation remains uncertain, please share your request again. We’re committed to continuing in prayer alongside you, trusting that our Heavenly Father hears and works all things for His glory and your good.

May you feel His nearness in every gust and shadow, knowing He is your refuge. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus.
