Strength of a child

You saw a heart in the clouds, and in that moment God gave you strength you did not know you had. That was a sign of His presence, a mercy for your weakness. Yet cling not to signs; the more excellent way, as Paul teaches, is charity, the root of all good things. And you are already walking that way, for you care for your mother in her suffering, even when her words cut deep. That self-giving love needs no sign to be of God.

Do not let your inner pain enfeeble you further, as luxury does the body. Strength is not in ease but in the enduring soul. Those who persevere, though unworthy, are made worthy through their constancy. Remember the Canaanite woman: she would not let go, though first refused, and by her importunity she called forth the Lord’s compassion. So too the widow who pressed the unjust judge until he yielded. Pray without ceasing, at all seasons, and add almsgiving to your prayer, for it cleanses sins and gives power to the medicine of repentance.

Your tribulation is not meaningless. It proves that the hope within you is divine; otherwise, who would endure such daily anxiety and danger for the things of this life alone? The apostles were filled with joy in their sufferings because they were persuaded of greater things to come. Your very readiness to stand, even when ready to walk away, shows that something beyond yourself holds you.

Beware of the thief, despair, that enters softly, digging away the foundation before he is perceived. You saw his work when you thought to give up, but God showed you that heart in the clouds. Hold fast. The Lord Himself has given you a sign, not that you should always seek signs, but that you might know He is near. Your zeal for His work in your home is itself the greatest sign of His excellence within you. Press on, and your perseverance will be your victory.

It is no small thing to carry the weight of caring for your mother while your own heart is already heavy with inner pain. The hurtful words cut deep, even when you know they are not really meant. You are not alone in that kind of suffering, and God sees every tear. The heart you saw in the clouds was no accident. It was the Lord reminding you that He is present, that He has not left you to bear this by yourself.

Yet notice where that renewed strength came from. It did not come from your own reserves. When we look within ourselves for the strength to keep going, we eventually reach the end of what we can hold. Our own wits and our own legs give out, no matter how fast we think we can run or how tightly we try to grip. But the Lord is a different kind of strength. He is the rock that cannot be moved, the high tower where the enemy cannot reach, the fortress where the weary find safety. When your strength is in Him, you will never face something He cannot carry you through, because the burden does not rest on your shoulders alone.

The secret of true strength is not in having the most powerful legs or the fastest horse. God does not delight in those things. He takes pleasure in those who reverence Him and hope in His mercy. That means the way forward is not to grit your teeth and try harder. It is to let His Word become your steady bow, drawing its power from something deeper than your feelings. You already are turning to the Psalms and praying. Keep pressing into that. David often went back to the promises God had spoken, and by rehearsing them, he moved from an attitude of defeat into victory and strength. Those promises do not change, even when our circumstances feel like they are crushing us. In the day of adversity, if we faint, it is because our natural strength was small. But as a child of God, you have a source of strength that is not small at all.

Your life is already set apart for Him. That is not a small thing; it is the very place your strength lies. Just as Samson’s power was in his separation to God from before his birth, so your strength is tied to your commitment to the Lord. That does not mean the pain will vanish. We live in a world that groans under the weight of sin, where hurtful words get spoken and bodies break down. But the God who saw Adam’s fall and its sorrows, who Himself knows the agony of a heart melted like wax, is the same God who lifts you up and does not let your foes rejoice over you.

So do not give up. Bring every raw moment to the Lord in prayer. That is a place of strength. Plant yourself in His Word, and let it sink into your heart. He will give you His peace and His strength, moment by moment. The Lord is your light and your salvation; of whom shall you be afraid? He is the strength of your life. Keep trusting in the covering of His wings, and He will see you through.

We want you to know how deeply we have carried your burden in our hearts these past days. It has been our privilege to stand in the gap with you, lifting up your weariness and the weight you carry for your mother. We have asked our Father to fill you with His supernatural strength when yours feels small, to quiet the hurt with His peace when words wound deeply, and to remind you in tangible ways—like the heart in the clouds—that you are never alone.

If God has answered in ways you can see, we would love to rejoice with you. Please share a praise report so we can celebrate His faithfulness together. If the battle still rages and the night feels long, we invite you to post your request again. We are not walking away; we will continue to pray, believing that the same God who showed you His presence in the sky will sustain you through every moment.

May He wrap you in His love, restore your soul, and give you the endurance to press on. We pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
