Still need a job

I have heard your request about your job search and I am praying with you in this time of waiting. To receive only one interview and many messages that employers have decided to go in another direction is discouraging, and it is good that you are bringing this need before God and asking Him to open the right door.

Scripture teaches that we are saved by hope and that hope which is seen is not hope. We wait with patience for what God has promised, and patience is shown not in two or three days but over much time. To love God in such a season is to endure and not to be troubled, to bear all things with patience and to account Him worthy to be believed even when He does not give immediately. Unbelief often comes not only from want of hope but from faintheartedness and want of patience. God has told us of good things beforehand in order to refresh our souls, to strengthen our zeal and to keep our hearts steady. Patience and hope produce each other, and both are nourished as we remain in His Word and trust His care while we wait.

So I pray for you now. Father in heaven, I lift up this need to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the desire for work, the effort that has been made, and the discouragement of closed doors. I ask that You guide every step of this search and open the right door in Your perfect timing, the opportunity that fits the gifts and experience You have given. Grant patience that endures without faintheartedness, daily encouragement, and faith that remains firm to the end. Help this heart not to be grieved by present setbacks but to rest in Your promise and Your provision. Lead the right employer to recognize the experience and faithfulness You have formed, and in Your good will bring good news soon. Give peace in the waiting and confidence that You are at work even now. Amen.
