Spiritual warfare

Dhitlor

Beloved Servant
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. 💔 I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My father who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Please also pray for a friend who has fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, prostate concerns and asthma. Please pray that God would provide me with a new job soon. Thank you.

We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting every burden to the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Your struggles are not unseen, and the enemy’s attacks are not unchallenged, we take authority over every spiritual assault, every disturbing dream, and every scheme of the devil that has sought to oppress you since childhood. The Word declares, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against your mind, your peace, and your destiny. The blood of Jesus has broken every chain, and we declare your freedom in His name.

We are deeply grieved by the weight of sexual temptation you are facing, and we must address this with both truth and compassion. The enemy seeks to exploit your vulnerability, especially in moments of depression, but we remind you that "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). You are not alone in this battle, and your shame is not the end of your story. Jesus bore every sin on the cross, and His grace is greater than your struggle. We pray for a spirit of repentance and renewal to flood your heart, that you would turn from these thoughts and flee from every form of sexual immorality, as Scripture commands (1 Corinthians 6:18). The Lord has set you free before, and He will do it again, we stand in agreement with you for complete deliverance.

Your exhaustion is palpable, and we lift up your schedule, your rest, and your need for wisdom regarding your work. The Lord knows your financial burdens and your desire for stability. We pray that He would open doors for new opportunities, whether to stay in your current roles with improved circumstances or to lead you to better employment. "Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun" (Psalm 37:5-6). We ask the Holy Spirit to order your steps, grant you discipline in your routines, and bring peace to your nights. You are not meant to be a slave to others’ demands, we pray for boundaries to be established and for the Lord to fight for you where you are weary.

For your family battling illness, we intercede for healing and protection. The Lord is the Great Physician, and we declare His healing power over each of you. "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up" (James 5:14-15). We pray that your father’s cough would subside and that no one would grow sicker in caring for one another. For your beloved cats, we ask the Lord to bring comfort, healing to their wounds, and protection over their health. The God who cares for the sparrows cares deeply for your pets as well.

We also lift up your friend battling chronic illness, asking for divine strength, relief from pain, and wisdom for their medical care. The Lord is their healer, and we trust Him to sustain them. For the African American community, we pray for discernment, truth, and a revival of sound doctrine. May the light of the Gospel dispel every false teaching and draw hearts back to the unchanging Word of God.

Above all, we must emphasize that our access to the Father is only through Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is His blood that cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Him, confessing Him as Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). He is your refuge, your strength, and your deliverer.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is under heavy attack. We break every chain of spiritual warfare, every assignment of the enemy, and every disturbing dream in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we command every spirit of oppression to flee. Lord, set them free from every temptation, especially the sexual sin that has ensnared them. Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus, and renew their mind by Your Word. Grant them the strength to resist the devil, that he may flee from them (James 4:7).

Father, we ask for Your divine intervention in their work, their finances, and their schedule. Provide new opportunities, wisdom for decisions, and peace in their daily life. Heal their family from illness, protect their pets, and strengthen their friend battling chronic conditions. Lord, we pray for revival in the African American community, that hearts would turn to You and false teachings would be exposed by Your truth.

Above all, draw them closer to You. Let them know the depth of Your love and the power of Your grace. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We hear how heavy this has felt for you, carrying spiritual pressure for so long, along with the vivid dreams, the late nights, and the sense that someone always needs something from you. It makes sense you feel overwhelmed and just want rest and breathing room. And we also hear the shame you named around the sexual thoughts at night, especially as you fall asleep, and how discouraging it is to feel pulled back into something God had helped you walk free from before.

You are not alone in wanting both relief and a steadier rhythm. One small step that often helps when nights run late and temptation feels strongest at bedtime is to set a simple, consistent wind-down time and invite someone trusted in, a pastor or counselor you know, to pray with you regularly about the sleep, the depression, and that specific nighttime struggle, so you are not carrying it by yourself. If low mood, the flu in your family, your father's cough, or the diet tied to your medical condition continue to weigh on you, please keep your doctor or clinic in the loop alongside prayer, and the same for your friend with the ongoing health concerns.

We are also holding your family, your cats, and the questions about work before the Lord with you, asking for wisdom about staying or seeking something new.

Father, we lift our brother to You in Jesus' name. Bring Your peace over his nights and dreams, calm the overwhelm, and guard his mind and heart. Give him wisdom for work, healing for his family, and care for his pets, and strengthen him to walk in freedom day by day. Amen.

Your many burdens have been laid before the Lord and heard with deep sympathy, and we join you in carrying them to the throne of grace where Christ our familiar Friend ever lives to intercede.

We do not wonder that you feel sore pressed by spiritual warfare. The Scripture teaches us that God had one Son without sin, but He never had a son without temptation. Our Savior Himself was tempted of the devil, and He has taught us to pray, Lead us not into temptation. That prayer does not ask that we should never be tried, for all temptation even when it comes from Satan is yet a trial permitted by God, but it pleads, spare me from too great trials lest I fall, and oh save me from the mischief of the temptation. Let me not stain my garments but stand fast at the end of the day. Remember that there has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man, and God is faithful who will with the temptation also make a way to escape that you may be able to bear it. There is a proper way of escape, and woe to the man who takes an improper one. Keep clear of the sin of the temptation and you need not fear the sorrow of it. The man who prays Lead us not into temptation and then goes into it is a liar before God, so we pray that you may be kept from voluntarily placing yourself where temptation surrounds you, especially in the quiet hours of the night when the mind is weary and the body seeks rest.

Concerning those vivid and disturbing dreams which trouble you, take comfort that dreams ordinarily are the most disorderly of phenomena, a carnival of thought, a maze of mental states, a dance of disorder. They frequently depend upon the condition of the body, upon weariness or agitation of mind, and the stuff that dreams are made of is often vanity. They need not be taken as a voice of destiny. Yet the Lord can order even such things for good, and we pray that He would give you quiet sleep and guard your mind, that you may lie down in peace and awake refreshed, knowing that whether waking or sleeping you are kept by Him.

With tenderness we have heard your confession of maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which assail you as you fall asleep, and the shame you feel in falling again into that from which God once set you free. Be assured that to be tempted is not the same as to sin. A man may be tempted and yet hate the temptation, and then there is no sin laid to his charge. But to give way and to cherish those thoughts, to use them as an outlet for depression, is sin and will wound the soul. There is no excuse in saying I am in such a place of temptation that if I give way I may well be excused, for the saints have been tempted in all points and yet held fast their integrity. We do not ask God to bless what He calls unholy, for He has ordained that sex and all that belongs to it is to be kept within the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman in marriage, and salvation and cleansing are through Jesus Christ alone. We pray instead that He would cleanse you, restore you, and set you free indeed. Bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. If those thoughts do not drive you to your own devices but drive you to your knees, they will yet become a blessing by teaching you your need of Christ. Pray earnestly, Lead us not into temptation, and when the temptation comes, look at once to Christ for all things and flee from the occasion of it.

We pray also for your weariness of being overwhelmed, with something new pressing upon you every moment and with nights ending so late. The Lord knows our frame and would have us use wisdom and order. We ask Him to give you a better schedule, true rest, and seasons of being still before Him, that you may not be consumed by constant demands but may serve with a quiet spirit.

For your work we ask the Lord for clear wisdom. You speak of considering whether to stay where you are and of desiring provision through a primary job and perhaps an extra one. We pray that God in His providence would open the right door and close the wrong, that He would provide for your daily bread and give you favor and peace in the workplace, and that whatever issues trouble you and your coworkers would be eased by His hand. Seek His guidance and wait upon His counsel rather than leaning to your own understanding.

We lift before the Lord your whole family in this sickness. We pray for your father who coughs again after seeming to improve, and for each one under your roof who has the flu, that the Lord would lay His healing hand upon them and restore strength. We pray that those who care for the sick would be preserved from being made sicker in their kindness, and that health would return to your home.

We remember also the creatures committed to your care. He who feeds the sparrows cares for all His creation, and we pray that your cats would be kept in health, that their wounds would heal and that strange affliction would not return. We ask the Lord to provide what you cannot provide, and to keep them well though you have no means for a vet and know not where to turn.

We pray that you may be kept disciplined in the diet required for your medical condition, that you may honor God with your body and know His help in keeping to what is needful for health.

We pray for your friend who suffers with fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, prostate concerns and asthma. We ask the Great Physician to have mercy, to ease pain, to give skill to those who care for him, and to grant comfort and patience in long affliction.

We join you in praying that the African American community and all people would be set free from false teachings and brought into the pure light of the gospel, for there is salvation in no other name but Jesus Christ our Lord, and we desire that all may know Him as He is revealed in Scripture.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, lead this Thy child not into temptation but deliver from evil. With the temptation make also the way of escape. Forgive what is past, cleanse what is polluted, and by Thy Spirit give victory over secret sin and wandering thoughts. Grant quiet sleep, a well ordered life, wisdom for employment, healing for family, care for these small creatures, strength for discipline, and mercy for a suffering friend. Bring many out of error into Thy truth, and keep us all looking to Christ who lives and is our hope. Hear us for His sake who was tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin, even Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest and humble prayer has been heard, and I join you in bringing every burden you named before the Lord who sees and who delivers.

I pray for you in this long spiritual battle that has weighed on you since you were young, and for the vivid and disturbing dreams that trouble your sleep. Scripture teaches that the Lord delivered His servant from the lion's mouth and will deliver from every evil work, and that we are called to resist, standing firm against sin. May God grant you true freedom, not only outward relief but inward freedom from sin, for if the Son makes you free you will be free indeed. May He quiet your nights, guard your mind as you sleep, and give you peace that comes from belonging to Him. When you are overwhelmed and feel that something new presses on you every moment and that you only want to be left alone, may the Lord give you rest, order your schedule, and help you to end your nights at a healthier hour so that your body and soul may be renewed.

For your work I pray for clear wisdom. You have asked about staying where you are and about the possibility of a new job or even two jobs. May God guide your decisions, open the right doors and close the wrong ones, and bring improvement for you and your coworkers where there has been strain. May He provide for your needs according to His care and give you contentment and diligence in whatever place He sets you.

You have confessed with godly sorrow the struggle with maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts, especially as you fall asleep, and that the enemy seems to increase temptation and that depression makes you turn to those thoughts as an outlet. I thank God for your honesty and shame, for it shows the Spirit is still working in you. God once set you free and He can do so again, for He not only frees from sin but makes us servants to righteousness, which is better than any freedom the world offers. His word says to flee fornication, not to linger with it, because he who commits fornication sins against his own body, and that we are not our own for we were bought with a price. I do not ask God to bless those thoughts or desires, but to cleanse you from them. I pray that He will give you strength to turn away with zeal, to guard your heart and your eyes, to pray before sleep and to fill your mind with what is pure, and to resist unto the point of striving against sin. It is God who justifies, and in Christ there is forgiveness and power to walk in newness of life. If you fall, do not remain in shame alone, but confess quickly, seek fellowship and pastoral counsel, and trust that the Lord will not suffer you to depart with condemnation when you cling to Him.

I pray as you asked for the African American community, that God would bring light where there is false teaching and lead many into the truth of salvation through Jesus Christ alone and into faithful obedience to His word.

For your family I pray for healing from the flu that has touched you all. May the Lord have mercy on your father whose cough has returned, and strengthen him, and protect all who care for the sick in your home from becoming sicker themselves. For your cats that you love, two with wounds from scratching and one who made a strange noise with his mouth, I pray that God in His kindness would keep them healthy and preserve them, and that He would provide help for you when you have no resources for a vet.

I pray for discipline in the diet your medical condition requires, that God would give you self control and perseverance for the health of your body. And for your friend who suffers with fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, prostate concerns and asthma, I pray for mercy, relief, and sustaining grace, and for wise care.

May the Lord who is faithful hear these prayers, keep you in His guardian care, and lead you into that bright life of virtue which shows true freedom even in hard circumstances. May He answer according to His perfect will and draw you ever closer to Himself. Amen.

Thank you for sharing so honestly and in such detail. What you have described is a heavy load to carry, feeling attacked for a long time, troubled in sleep, overwhelmed by constant demands, struggling with health and work and family sickness, and also carrying shame over thoughts you do not want. God sees all of this, and He invites you to bring it to Him completely through Jesus Christ, who alone is our Savior and deliverer.

Scripture makes a distinction that is important for you to hold onto. God tests our faith to strengthen us and to work patience in us as we learn to wait on Him, but God never solicits us to evil. That solicitation comes from the enemy. The enemy often works by suggesting that you can find immediate relief or fulfillment if you will just step off God's path for a moment. Jesus Himself was tempted in this way, offered a shortcut around the cross, and He refused it. He endured the cross and despised its shame to redeem us. Because He was tempted and overcame, He understands your struggle and is able to help you in it.

It helps to remember that temptation itself is not sin. Temptation is common to every person living in this body. The sin comes when desire is yielded to and acted upon in the heart or in deed. That means you do not have to live under a cloud of shame simply because a tempting thought appears, especially at night when you are tired and vulnerable. Shame can keep you hidden, but Jesus bore shame so that you could come openly to God for mercy and help. When you feel depression pressing in, you can speak truth to your own soul rather than letting discouraging thoughts speak to you. The psalmist did this when he said, hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him who is the health of my face and my God. You can turn fear into hope and heaviness into praise by reminding yourself that God is your deliverer, not your own resolve or strength.

God also gives a precious promise for every temptation. There is no temptation that has come to you that is unusual, and God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, and with the temptation He will provide a way of escape so that you can endure it. There is always an escape route. Your part is to take it when He shows it. Often that inner prompting is quiet but clear, telling you to get up, to pray, to turn away, to fill your mind with something else, to call on the name of Jesus. If you linger, the temptation grows stronger. If you take the escape when it appears, you walk after the Spirit rather than after the flesh. In every situation you have that choice, to respond from the flesh or to respond from the Spirit.

For the patterns you mentioned at night, including maladaptive daydreaming and sexual thoughts that have returned, it is understandable that depression would make you look for an outlet, but that outlet will not heal you and will leave more shame. God created our bodies and our sexuality with purpose, and Scripture teaches that our bodies are members of Christ and are to be set apart for Him, not for impurity. Sexual intimacy belongs within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Outside of that, God calls us to purity in thought and deed, and He gives grace to walk in it. Because you have known His freedom before, you can know it again. He does not cast you away for falling. Bring the struggle into the light with Him quickly, without excuse, ask for forgiveness through Christ, and ask for His help to choose the escape. Practical steps can help you cooperate with Him, such as praying aloud before you fall asleep, keeping Scripture before your mind, removing triggers that feed fantasy, and refusing to entertain a thought the moment it comes rather than letting it conceive.

For the exhaustion and the late nights and the feeling that everyone wants something from you, God wants to teach you patience and to help you establish a healthier rhythm. It is good to ask Him for wisdom about your schedule and about work. Pray for clear guidance about whether to remain where you are or to seek new provision, and for the ability to provide through work that is sustainable. God cares about your daily needs and about your coworkers as well. Ask Him to bring peace and improvement to those workplaces, and to give you wisdom to set loving boundaries so that you are not constantly depleted.

I am praying for you and for those you love. I am asking the Lord to lift the oppression you have felt since you were young, to give you quiet and peaceful sleep free from disturbing dreams, to guard your mind and to fill your night with His peace. I am asking Him to provide rest and a more manageable schedule, and to give you wisdom and open doors for work, including whether to take on additional work or to stay where you are, and to supply what you need. I am asking Him to strengthen you to walk in the Spirit when temptation comes, to show you the way of escape and to help you take it, and to lift the heaviness of depression and replace it with hope in Him. I am asking Him to bring the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ to many, and to free all who are held by false teaching so they may know Him truly. I am asking Him to heal your family from the flu, to restore your father fully from his cough, and to protect those who are caring for the sick from becoming ill themselves. I am asking Him to watch over your cats and keep them healthy, and to provide for you when you have no resources of your own. I am asking Him to give you grace and discipline to keep the diet you need for your medical condition. And I am asking Him to touch your friend who is suffering with fibromyalgia, thalassemia, blood pressure issues, prostate concerns and asthma, to bring comfort, strength and healing according to His mercy.

You do not have to carry this alone. Keep coming to Jesus, keep choosing the way of escape He provides, and keep speaking His truth to your heart. He is faithful, He is your strength, and He will be the health of your face as you put your hope in Him.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have been continuing to lift you up for deliverance from the spiritual warfare that has targeted you since you were young, and for peace over your nights that those vivid disturbing dreams would cease and that the Lord would guard your mind as you sleep. We have prayed for rest for you in your overwhelm, that God would give you space to breathe when it feels like every moment something else is demanding your attention, and that He would provide a better schedule and help you to end your nights earlier. We have prayed for your need for wisdom concerning your jobs, whether to stay where you are or to be led to new work, and that God would open the door for a primary job and an extra job if it is His will, and that conditions would improve for you and your coworkers. We have prayed for your freedom from maladaptive daydreaming and from the inappropriate sexual thoughts that have become a serious burden especially as you fall asleep, and for strength against the increased temptation you feel from the enemy, and for comfort in the shame and sadness and depression you have shared, knowing God has set you free before and can do so again. We remember the promise in James 4:7 and Eph 6:11 and 1 Cor 10:13 that God provides a way out of temptation and power to resist the enemy. We have also prayed for the African American community to be set free from false teachings, for healing for your entire family from the flu and for your father who was getting better but is coughing again, that those caring for you would be protected from sickness. We have prayed for your cats, for healing for the two who wounded themselves from scratching and for the one who made a strange noise with his mouth, and that all your cats would be and stay healthy though you have no resources for a vet. We have prayed for discipline to stay faithful to the diet required for your medical condition, and for your friend suffering with fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, prostate concerns and asthma, that God would bring healing and comfort. We have prayed for God to provide for you with new employment soon.

We pray now in Jesus Name that the Lord would cover you with His peace and protection, that He would rebuke every attack of the enemy, renew your mind, restore restful sleep, grant you wisdom and provision for work, bring healing to your family and your father and your pets and your friend, and give you strength and self control through the Holy Spirit. We pray that He would draw near to you as you seek Him, for Psalm 34:18 reminds us that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name. Amen.
