Spiritual warfare

Dhitlor

Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. 💔 I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My father who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Please also pray for a friend who has fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, prostate concerns and asthma. Please pray that God would provide me with a new job soon. Thank you.

We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting every burden to the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Your struggles are not unseen, and the enemy’s attacks are not unchallenged, we take authority over every spiritual assault, every disturbing dream, and every scheme of the devil that has sought to oppress you since childhood. The Word declares, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against your mind, your peace, and your destiny. The blood of Jesus has broken every chain, and we declare your freedom in His name.

We are deeply grieved by the weight of sexual temptation you are facing, and we must address this with both truth and compassion. The enemy seeks to exploit your vulnerability, especially in moments of depression, but we remind you that "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). You are not alone in this battle, and your shame is not the end of your story. Jesus bore every sin on the cross, and His grace is greater than your struggle. We pray for a spirit of repentance and renewal to flood your heart, that you would turn from these thoughts and flee from every form of sexual immorality, as Scripture commands (1 Corinthians 6:18). The Lord has set you free before, and He will do it again, we stand in agreement with you for complete deliverance.

Your exhaustion is palpable, and we lift up your schedule, your rest, and your need for wisdom regarding your work. The Lord knows your financial burdens and your desire for stability. We pray that He would open doors for new opportunities, whether to stay in your current roles with improved circumstances or to lead you to better employment. "Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun" (Psalm 37:5-6). We ask the Holy Spirit to order your steps, grant you discipline in your routines, and bring peace to your nights. You are not meant to be a slave to others’ demands, we pray for boundaries to be established and for the Lord to fight for you where you are weary.

For your family battling illness, we intercede for healing and protection. The Lord is the Great Physician, and we declare His healing power over each of you. "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up" (James 5:14-15). We pray that your father’s cough would subside and that no one would grow sicker in caring for one another. For your beloved cats, we ask the Lord to bring comfort, healing to their wounds, and protection over their health. The God who cares for the sparrows cares deeply for your pets as well.

We also lift up your friend battling chronic illness, asking for divine strength, relief from pain, and wisdom for their medical care. The Lord is their healer, and we trust Him to sustain them. For the African American community, we pray for discernment, truth, and a revival of sound doctrine. May the light of the Gospel dispel every false teaching and draw hearts back to the unchanging Word of God.

Above all, we must emphasize that our access to the Father is only through Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is His blood that cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Him, confessing Him as Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). He is your refuge, your strength, and your deliverer.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is under heavy attack. We break every chain of spiritual warfare, every assignment of the enemy, and every disturbing dream in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we command every spirit of oppression to flee. Lord, set them free from every temptation, especially the sexual sin that has ensnared them. Wash them clean by the blood of Jesus, and renew their mind by Your Word. Grant them the strength to resist the devil, that he may flee from them (James 4:7).

Father, we ask for Your divine intervention in their work, their finances, and their schedule. Provide new opportunities, wisdom for decisions, and peace in their daily life. Heal their family from illness, protect their pets, and strengthen their friend battling chronic conditions. Lord, we pray for revival in the African American community, that hearts would turn to You and false teachings would be exposed by Your truth.

Above all, draw them closer to You. Let them know the depth of Your love and the power of Your grace. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We hear how heavy this has felt for you, carrying spiritual pressure for so long, along with the vivid dreams, the late nights, and the sense that someone always needs something from you. It makes sense you feel overwhelmed and just want rest and breathing room. And we also hear the shame you named around the sexual thoughts at night, especially as you fall asleep, and how discouraging it is to feel pulled back into something God had helped you walk free from before.

You are not alone in wanting both relief and a steadier rhythm. One small step that often helps when nights run late and temptation feels strongest at bedtime is to set a simple, consistent wind-down time and invite someone trusted in, a pastor or counselor you know, to pray with you regularly about the sleep, the depression, and that specific nighttime struggle, so you are not carrying it by yourself. If low mood, the flu in your family, your father's cough, or the diet tied to your medical condition continue to weigh on you, please keep your doctor or clinic in the loop alongside prayer, and the same for your friend with the ongoing health concerns.

We are also holding your family, your cats, and the questions about work before the Lord with you, asking for wisdom about staying or seeking something new.

Father, we lift our brother to You in Jesus' name. Bring Your peace over his nights and dreams, calm the overwhelm, and guard his mind and heart. Give him wisdom for work, healing for his family, and care for his pets, and strengthen him to walk in freedom day by day. Amen.

Your many burdens have been laid before the Lord and heard with deep sympathy, and we join you in carrying them to the throne of grace where Christ our familiar Friend ever lives to intercede.

We do not wonder that you feel sore pressed by spiritual warfare. The Scripture teaches us that God had one Son without sin, but He never had a son without temptation. Our Savior Himself was tempted of the devil, and He has taught us to pray, Lead us not into temptation. That prayer does not ask that we should never be tried, for all temptation even when it comes from Satan is yet a trial permitted by God, but it pleads, spare me from too great trials lest I fall, and oh save me from the mischief of the temptation. Let me not stain my garments but stand fast at the end of the day. Remember that there has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man, and God is faithful who will with the temptation also make a way to escape that you may be able to bear it. There is a proper way of escape, and woe to the man who takes an improper one. Keep clear of the sin of the temptation and you need not fear the sorrow of it. The man who prays Lead us not into temptation and then goes into it is a liar before God, so we pray that you may be kept from voluntarily placing yourself where temptation surrounds you, especially in the quiet hours of the night when the mind is weary and the body seeks rest.

Concerning those vivid and disturbing dreams which trouble you, take comfort that dreams ordinarily are the most disorderly of phenomena, a carnival of thought, a maze of mental states, a dance of disorder. They frequently depend upon the condition of the body, upon weariness or agitation of mind, and the stuff that dreams are made of is often vanity. They need not be taken as a voice of destiny. Yet the Lord can order even such things for good, and we pray that He would give you quiet sleep and guard your mind, that you may lie down in peace and awake refreshed, knowing that whether waking or sleeping you are kept by Him.

With tenderness we have heard your confession of maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which assail you as you fall asleep, and the shame you feel in falling again into that from which God once set you free. Be assured that to be tempted is not the same as to sin. A man may be tempted and yet hate the temptation, and then there is no sin laid to his charge. But to give way and to cherish those thoughts, to use them as an outlet for depression, is sin and will wound the soul. There is no excuse in saying I am in such a place of temptation that if I give way I may well be excused, for the saints have been tempted in all points and yet held fast their integrity. We do not ask God to bless what He calls unholy, for He has ordained that sex and all that belongs to it is to be kept within the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman in marriage, and salvation and cleansing are through Jesus Christ alone. We pray instead that He would cleanse you, restore you, and set you free indeed. Bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. If those thoughts do not drive you to your own devices but drive you to your knees, they will yet become a blessing by teaching you your need of Christ. Pray earnestly, Lead us not into temptation, and when the temptation comes, look at once to Christ for all things and flee from the occasion of it.

We pray also for your weariness of being overwhelmed, with something new pressing upon you every moment and with nights ending so late. The Lord knows our frame and would have us use wisdom and order. We ask Him to give you a better schedule, true rest, and seasons of being still before Him, that you may not be consumed by constant demands but may serve with a quiet spirit.

For your work we ask the Lord for clear wisdom. You speak of considering whether to stay where you are and of desiring provision through a primary job and perhaps an extra one. We pray that God in His providence would open the right door and close the wrong, that He would provide for your daily bread and give you favor and peace in the workplace, and that whatever issues trouble you and your coworkers would be eased by His hand. Seek His guidance and wait upon His counsel rather than leaning to your own understanding.

We lift before the Lord your whole family in this sickness. We pray for your father who coughs again after seeming to improve, and for each one under your roof who has the flu, that the Lord would lay His healing hand upon them and restore strength. We pray that those who care for the sick would be preserved from being made sicker in their kindness, and that health would return to your home.

We remember also the creatures committed to your care. He who feeds the sparrows cares for all His creation, and we pray that your cats would be kept in health, that their wounds would heal and that strange affliction would not return. We ask the Lord to provide what you cannot provide, and to keep them well though you have no means for a vet and know not where to turn.

We pray that you may be kept disciplined in the diet required for your medical condition, that you may honor God with your body and know His help in keeping to what is needful for health.

We pray for your friend who suffers with fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, prostate concerns and asthma. We ask the Great Physician to have mercy, to ease pain, to give skill to those who care for him, and to grant comfort and patience in long affliction.

We join you in praying that the African American community and all people would be set free from false teachings and brought into the pure light of the gospel, for there is salvation in no other name but Jesus Christ our Lord, and we desire that all may know Him as He is revealed in Scripture.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, lead this Thy child not into temptation but deliver from evil. With the temptation make also the way of escape. Forgive what is past, cleanse what is polluted, and by Thy Spirit give victory over secret sin and wandering thoughts. Grant quiet sleep, a well ordered life, wisdom for employment, healing for family, care for these small creatures, strength for discipline, and mercy for a suffering friend. Bring many out of error into Thy truth, and keep us all looking to Christ who lives and is our hope. Hear us for His sake who was tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin, even Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
