Spiritual warfare

Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My father who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Please also pray for a close friend who has fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, prostate concerns and asthma. Pray that I would be a suitable encouragement and helpmeet to my boyfriend as we continue in courtship. Thank you.

We stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, through whom we have access to the Father and the power to overcome every scheme of the enemy. We recognize the intense spiritual warfare you are facing, and we take authority over every demonic assignment sent against you, declaring them null and void in Jesus’ name. The Word of God assures us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). We rebuke every spirit of oppression, torment, and fear that has plagued you since childhood, and we command them to flee now in the name of Jesus. You are not alone in this battle, God has equipped you with the full armor of God, and we stand with you, putting on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s Word (Ephesians 6:13-17 WEB).

We lift up your dreams to the Lord, asking Him to replace every disturbing vision with His peace and truth. The enemy seeks to wear you down through exhaustion and fear, but we declare that God gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2 WEB). We pray for divine rest, that your mind and spirit would be guarded by the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB). The overwhelming demands on your time and energy must be surrendered to the Lord, who promises, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 WEB). We pray for wisdom in managing your schedule, that you would prioritize time with the Lord, rest, and godly stewardship of your responsibilities. Let the Holy Spirit order your steps and bring balance to your days, cutting off every unnecessary demand that drains your strength.

Regarding your employment, we seek the Lord’s guidance for your next steps. Whether you stay in your current jobs or pursue new opportunities, we pray for favor, wisdom, and resolution to every conflict with coworkers. Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB) reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We ask the Lord to open doors for you, whether it be one job or two, that would provide for your needs and allow you to serve Him faithfully. May He grant you contentment and joy in your work, knowing that whatever you do, you do it unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23 WEB).

The struggle with sexual temptation and ### is not one you face alone. We rebuke the spirit of lust and perversion that seeks to ensnare you, and we declare your freedom in Christ. The enemy preys on weakness, but God’s strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB). We pray for a renewed mind, that you would take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB). Flee from sexual immorality, for your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB). We encourage you to replace these thoughts with Scripture, prayer, and accountability. Confess this sin to the Lord, for He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). Do not let shame keep you in bondage, Jesus died to set you free, and His grace is sufficient for you.

We lift up your health and the health of your family, praying for complete healing from ### and protection for those caring for you. May the Lord restore your ###’s health and guard him from further illness. We also pray for your beloved cats, asking the Lord to heal their wounds and keep them in good health. The Lord cares for all His creation, and we trust Him to provide for their needs, even when resources are limited. May He lead you to a trustworthy veterinarian if needed.

For your medical diet, we pray for discipline and strength to honor your body as the temple of the Holy Spirit. May the Lord give you creativity and joy in preparing meals that nourish you. We also lift up your friend battling ###, ###, ###, ###, and ###. We ask the Lord to strengthen him, ease his pain, and grant him wisdom in managing his health. May you be a source of encouragement and support to him, reflecting Christ’s love in your friendship.

Regarding your courtship, we pray that your relationship would honor God and reflect His design for marriage. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and your courtship should be marked by purity, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to Christ. Flee from any temptation that would lead you into sin, and pursue holiness together. We pray that you would be a godly helpmeet to your boyfriend, supporting him in his walk with the Lord and encouraging him in his purpose. May your relationship be built on the foundation of Christ, so that it may grow into a marriage that glorifies God.

Finally, we pray for the African American community, that the Lord would expose and dismantle every false teaching that leads people away from the truth of the Gospel. May the light of Christ shine brightly, drawing many to salvation and freedom in Him. We declare that the blood of Jesus breaks every chain of deception, and we stand against every spirit of confusion and error.

We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has overcome the world and given us the victory. May His peace guard your heart and mind, and may His strength sustain you in every battle. You are not forsaken, God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5 WEB). Stand firm in faith, knowing that the battle belongs to the Lord. Amen.

It’s completely understandable that you feel bombarded right now. When life presses in from so many directions, spiritual attacks, restless nights, relentless demands, the weight can be crushing. We hear the exhaustion in your words, and we want you to know you’re not carrying this alone.

One simple, concrete step that might create a little margin is to pick a firm bedtime and stick to it, even if everything else isn’t finished. Sleep isn’t a luxury; it’s a critical piece of fighting back against ### and temptation. Giving yourself permission to rest and turn off the noise, just for a night, is an act of resistance against the enemy’s chaos.

The ### that ambush you as you’re falling asleep, and the shame that follows, can feel like a dark spiral. But shame is not from God. He sees the struggle, and His mercy meets you in the very moment you whisper, “Jesus, help me.” You don’t have to fix yourself before coming to Him, just turn your mind toward Him in that moment, and refuse to let guilt keep you hiding. He is able to restore you again.

We’re praying about the job decisions, your family’s recovery, your sweet cats, your ###’s health, and your courtship. God cares about every detail, no matter how small.

Father, we lift up this weary daughter to You. Quiet her spirit and grant her deep, protected sleep tonight. Silence the enemy’s taunts and break the heaviness of ### and overwhelm. Give her wisdom to take one small, healthy step at a time, with her schedule, her diet, and her work. Strengthen her to resist temptation, and remind her that her worth is anchored in Christ’s love. Heal her ### and their whole household, watch over the cats, and bring relief to her ###. Guide her relationship with purity and wisdom, and let Your peace rule in her heart. The archers have sorely grieved you, and shot at you, and hated you from your youth. This cruel attack from the masters of the arrows has been relentless, vivid dreams that terrify, spiritual buffetings that wear down the soul, and a constant onslaught that cries out for a moment’s peace. Yet hear this: the fiend of Hell may boast, but there is not one of Christ’s little ones lacking. Not a single lamb shall be dragged to his infernal den. The archers may shoot, but your bow must abide in strength. It is not for you to turn your bow upon them in your own might, nor to rage back at the darkness. The arms of your hands are made strong by the mighty power of the God of Jacob. Be still, and know that He is God. When the enemy rushes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord lifts up a standard against him. The quiet resting of faith, this is your shield.

As for the vile intrusions of lust and the maladaptive daydreaming that defile the mind’s bedtime chambers, you have confessed plainly, and I do not treat it lightly. The devil’s last throw upon a soul often is to seize it and domineer over it with the spirit of filthiness, even after a former deliverance. You know the shame; you taste the bitterness of returning like an ox to the stream. But listen: in the serious pain and depression of this hour, you have spoken hasty words against yourself in despair, and you have thought thoughts of surrender. Bring those now penitently to the cross. He who set you free before is the same Christ yesterday, today, and forever. Say in your heart, “I abhor these returns to the mire; I loathe myself in His sight that I should ever have questioned His tender love and gracious care by indulging what He hates.” Flee anew to the fountain opened for sin and uncleanness. Use no outlet but the wounds of Jesus. When the temptation swells at the falling asleep moment, call mightily upon the name which devils fear. He breaks the arrows of the bow, the shield, the sword, and the battle.

Your overwhelmed heart longs to be left alone, and the schedule grinds you late into the night. Cast this burden at the Mercy Seat. Ask for wisdom regarding the one job or the two, and trust Him who appoints the bounds of our habitation. He who notes the sparrow’s fall cares for your sick father, your flu-stricken household, and the little scratch-wounded cats whom you love. Bring these small concerns boldly, for the High Priest is touched with the feeling of our infirmities. For the friend with manifold ailments, and for your courtship that you would be a true helpmeet, remember that the shielded warrior’s secret strength lies in the God of Jacob, not in the arm of flesh. Feed upon Christ in the diet of your soul with the same discipline you seek for your body, and He will sustain you. The archers have sorely grieved you, but the bow abides in strength. There is not one of them lacking, the enemy shall not have his boast over you. The Lord shall command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with you.

Your requests are many and weighty, but the chief battle is within your own soul. You speak of spiritual warfare plaguing you from youth, yet you yourself admit to giving in to maladaptive daydreaming and impure sexual thoughts. This is not merely the enemy’s assault; you have opened the gate. The Apostle commands, “Flee fornication.” He does not say stand and argue, but run for your life. Every other sin a man commits is outside the body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body, defiling the temple of the Holy Spirit. You say you are ashamed, and that is right, for this sin carries a peculiar sting of disgrace. But shame without repentance is fruitless. You must not only grieve but turn, with the same zeal with which you have indulged. This malady is worse than any bodily sickness. The demoniac we pity, but the man who brings self-chosen madness upon himself, making his eyes and mind sewers of filth, becomes an object of aversion. Yet there is hope: the Lord who delivered Paul from the lion’s mouth will deliver you from every evil work, if you cry out from the depths. He came to set free those who are slaves of sin, which is the most grievous bondage, far worse than any earthly captivity. Do not say, “I am Abraham’s seed and was never in bondage,” like the proud Jews, while your own lusts hold you faster than chains. The truth alone frees, and that truth is Christ.

Your depression you mention as a cause, but it is no excuse: sin adds to sorrow, while righteousness lifts the head. You say you want to be left alone, but isolation feeds temptation. Fill your time with prayer, labor, and care for others, and the evil thoughts will find less room. As for dreams, the conscience already stirred will often trouble sleep. Flee the waking images and the night phantoms will quiet. The Eucharist itself, that most awful table, was given that we might bear our cross with thanksgiving and find strength against every assault. Do not neglect such medicine of immortality.

Concerning your work and schedule: if you are always rushing and ending days late, you sap the body’s discipline and weaken the soul’s guard. Seek a sober ordering of your hours, not merely two jobs but a life lived unto God. Pray for wisdom, as you ask, but also act with prudence. For your family and your friend, God is able to raise the sick; yet the greater healing is of the soul. Your cats, your diet, your courtship: all these are secondary to the state of your heart before the Judge. Be a suitable encouragement to your boyfriend by first encouraging yourself in holiness. Care for the body’s health, but mortify the flesh’s lusts. The false teachings among any people are overthrown only when the Church shines with purity. Begin with your own deliverance, and God will use your witness. Christ gave thanks even as He went to His passion: how much more should you, in lesser trials, bless His name? He will deliver you, not only from the outward lion but from the creeping sin that devours from within, if you stand firm and resist unto blood. Cease bargaining with the enemy; flee, and the Lord shall be your refuge.
