Spiritual warfare

Dhitlor

Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. 💔 I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My father who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Please also pray for a close friend who has fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, prostate concerns and asthma. Pray that I would be a suitable encouragement and helpmeet to my boyfriend as we continue in courtship. Thank you.

We stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has already won the victory over every spiritual battle. The warfare you describe is real, but it is not beyond the power of God to break. We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against your mind, your dreams, and your peace in the authority of Jesus’ name. The Bible declares, "For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:3-4 WEB). The enemy has no right to torment you, Jesus came to set the captives free, and we declare that freedom over you now.

We are grieved to hear of the vivid and disturbing dreams you endure. Scripture tells us that God gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2 WEB), and we pray that He would guard your mind as you rest. We command every unclean spirit influencing your dreams to flee in Jesus’ name. We also lift up the overwhelming exhaustion you feel, being pulled in every direction, both spiritually and practically. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 WEB). We pray that He would lift this weight from you and grant you the margin to breathe, to seek Him, and to realign your schedule according to His peace.

Your struggle with sexual temptation is not ignored, nor is it beyond God’s power to deliver. We must address this with both truth and compassion. The Bible is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). These thoughts and actions are not merely personal failings, they are attacks from the enemy, who seeks to steal your purity, your joy, and your intimacy with God. But Jesus is greater. He has set you free before, and He will do it again. We pray that you would not be mastered by sin but would take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB). Confess this struggle to a trusted believer, seek accountability, and fill your mind with Scripture, especially when temptation comes. The enemy thrives in secrecy, but light dispels darkness. You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you in prayer, asking God to break every chain of lust and shame.

Regarding your courtship, we encourage you to seek God’s will for this relationship with the goal of marriage in mind. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB). As you walk this path, guard your heart and your purity. The enemy would love to derail this relationship through temptation, distraction, or division. We pray that you and your boyfriend would grow in godliness, mutual respect, and unity in Christ. May you both be a source of encouragement to one another, pointing each other toward Jesus in every season.

For your physical health and that of your family, we pray for complete healing from the flu. "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord" (James 5:14 WEB). We ask God to restore strength to your father and protect those caring for you from illness. For your beloved cats, we pray for healing and protection. God cares for even the smallest creatures (Matthew 10:29 WEB), and we trust Him to watch over them. We also pray for wisdom in managing your medical diet and for discipline in following it faithfully.

For your friend battling multiple health challenges, we lift him up before the Lord, the Great Physician. We pray for relief from pain, strength for his body, and peace for his spirit. May God grant you the words and actions to be a true encouragement to him, reflecting Christ’s love in tangible ways.

Regarding your work situation, we pray for clarity and wisdom. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him" (James 1:5 WEB). Whether you stay in your current jobs or seek new ones, we ask God to open doors of provision, improve relationships with coworkers, and grant you favor. We also pray for balance, so that work does not consume you but serves as a means to honor God and provide for your needs.

Lastly, we address your concern for the African American community and false teachings. The truth of God’s Word is the only foundation that brings true freedom. We pray that the Holy Spirit would raise up faithful teachers and that hearts would be turned toward the unchanging truth of Scripture. "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free" (John 8:32 WEB).

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name. We thank You that You are our Deliverer, our Healer, and our Provider. Lord, we stand against every spiritual attack aimed at [this dear one]. We break every assignment of the enemy over their mind, their dreams, and their peace. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB), and we command every unclean spirit to flee in Jesus’ name.

Father, we ask You to guard their sleep. Replace every disturbing dream with Your peace, and let them rest in the assurance of Your protection. Lord, we pray for their overwhelming schedule, grant them wisdom to prioritize what truly matters, and give them the strength to say no when they are stretched too thin. Help them to find rest in You, for You are their true refuge.

We confess the struggle with sexual temptation before You, Lord. We ask for Your forgiveness and Your cleansing. Wash [them] clean by the blood of Jesus, and break every chain of lust and shame. Fill their mind with Your Word, and surround them with godly accountability. Strengthen them to resist temptation and to walk in purity, for You are faithful to provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).

For their courtship, we pray for Your guidance and protection. May this relationship honor You and lead to a godly marriage, if that is Your will. Teach them both to love one another as Christ loves the Church.

We pray for healing for [them] and their family from the flu. Restore their father to full health, and protect those caring for them. For their cats, we ask for Your healing touch, may they be whole and healthy, and may [this one] find a trustworthy vet when needed.

For their work, we ask for Your wisdom and provision. Open doors for new opportunities if that is Your will, and bring peace to their current jobs. Help them to manage their time well and to honor You in all they do.

For their friend with health struggles, we pray for Your healing and comfort. Give [this one] the words and actions to be a true encouragement.

Lord, we also pray for the African American community, that Your truth would prevail, and that hearts would be turned toward You. Raise up faithful teachers who proclaim Your Word without compromise.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would meet every need, spiritual, physical, emotional, and financial. Remind [this one] that You are their Good Shepherd, and they shall not want (Psalm 23:1 WEB). Fill them with Your peace, Your joy, and Your presence. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

You’ve been carrying a lot, and we can hear the exhaustion in your words. The sense of being constantly bombarded, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, is real and draining. We’re standing with you in prayer today.

The struggle you named with those thoughts as you fall asleep hits especially hard when you’re already tired and depressed. You’re not alone in that battle, and God’s grace is not exhausted. He hasn’t turned away from you. A practical step that’s helped many is to deliberately steer your mind at bedtime: put on a worship playlist or an audio Bible, or quietly thank God for specific good things from your day. Don’t fight the thoughts in your own strength; replace them with something that nourishes your spirit. And since the depression may be fueling this, if you haven’t already, please consider reaching out to a doctor or a Christian counselor. Depression can be a heavy, physical burden, and getting some help for it isn’t a sign of weak faith, it’s wise stewardship of the body and mind God gave you.

We’re also praying for a hedge of protection around your sleep and your mind. The vivid dreams and the sense of enemy activity are distressing, but Christ’s peace can guard your heart even when your mind keeps spinning. He is stronger than any force that comes against you.

We’re asking God to give you clarity about your work, healing for your family and your friend, provision for your cats, and the strength to stick to the diet you need. That’s a lot of things, but nothing is too small for Him.

Lord Jesus, we bring this dear sister before You. She is weary and overwhelmed. Please still the storm inside her mind. Break any chains of spiritual oppression that have hounded her since childhood. Guard her sleep, and fill her thoughts with what is pure and lovely. Forgive her, cleanse her, and restore her joy. When temptation flares, rush in with Your presence and give her a way out. Guide her in her job decisions, heal her father and her family, watch over her cats, and sustain her friend. Above all, let her know deep down that she is Yours and that nothing can snatch her from Your hand. In Jesus’ powerful name, amen.

You speak of spiritual warfare that has harassed you from your youth, and of dreams that trouble your rest. It is no small thing to feel the constant return of the enemy's whisperings, especially when the mind is weary and the body longs for sleep. Yet you have known deliverance before, that same God who broke the chains of sexual sin in your earlier days is not grown feeble. "I have found a ransom," says the Lord; the blood of Jesus speaks peace even now. When the temptation presses hardest, when those foul imaginations throng upon you in your bed, cry aloud to Him who was tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin. Pray, "Lead us not into temptation," and then do not lead yourself there by entertaining the thought or giving it room. You confess you use these thoughts as an outlet for a depressed spirit; but there is a better medicine for a heavy heart than the poisons of the pit. Turn your mind to the wounds of Christ, let your meditation be upon the price He paid for your soul, there is a holy sweetness in the cross that will chase away the noxious swarm of evil fancies.

The dreams, too, whether born of the warfare or of a jaded mind, must be committed to Him who gives His beloved sleep. Before you close your eyes, feed upon the Word; let the last voice you hear be the voice of the Spirit in the Scriptures. "I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me." He is able to keep the door of your slumber shut against the intruder.

As for the overwhelming press of things, the sense that every five seconds brings a new demand, remember, you are not your own, you are bought with a price. Yet the Lord who calls you to serve does not call you to a disordered life. "Come ye yourselves apart and rest a while," He said to His disciples. Set your house in order by His wisdom; a better schedule is a matter for prayer, but also for diligence. You wish to be left alone, and there is something lawful in that longing, for even our Lord withdrew into a solitary place. But let that solitude be with Him, not a retreat into the daydreams you confess are sinful. The maladaptive daydreaming will not give you rest; it will only waste the strength you might spend for Christ. "Live hard, live fast in a spiritual sense, for you have little time to use, none to waste."

Concerning the jobs, seek direction from the Lord with a single eye to His glory. Whether you stay or go, let wisdom, not weariness, decide. The trials with coworkers are an opportunity to show the grace of God; bear with patience, and pray for them. If He opens a door to a primary work and a secondary one, walk through it with thanksgiving; if He shuts both, take it as a token to wait. He that feeds the sparrows will not let you lack.

The cares of your household, your father's returning cough, the pets you love, the family taken with the flu, lay them all upon the Great Physician. When no money is at hand for a vet, and no good one seems near, the eye of the Lord is upon every creature; He heareth the young ravens when they cry. Trust Him for small things as well as great. As for your diet, discipline in eating is a form of self-denial that may be acceptable as a living sacrifice; ask for the grace to be temperate in all things.

Your friend with his many infirmities, and your desire to be a suitable encouragement in courtship, pray much that your own soul may be healthy first. No woman can be a true helpmeet if she is herself halting in heart. Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and your own spirit will be so established in purity and peace that you may strengthen another. But make no peace with sin, nor let the happy prospect of marriage become an excuse for impurity in thought. "Flee youthful lusts," and keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.

That you feel shame is a good token; it is the stirring of life in one who is not wholly dead. But the shame must drive you to the cross, not to despair. The enemy will shoot his arrow and whisper that God's ear is shut; it is a lie. The ransom is found, the pit is covered. Christ has put our sins away, and there is a substantial peace established between God and our souls. It is yours to rest in that peace, and then to war against the corruption that remaineth.

Let not the African American community be forgotten in your prayers, false teachings are a sore evil in any people, and we must cry to the Lord to raise up faithful preachers of the truth. And as for you, go forward singing of deliverance, for "He brought forth His people with joy, and His chosen with gladness: there was not one feeble person among their tribes." Though you feel feeble, lean upon Him who is your strength. Get near to Christ and stay near to Him; He will give you songs in the night, and soon the dreams of darkness shall give way to the clear shining of His face.

Pray much, confess much, believe much. The Lord bless thee and keep thee; the Lord make His face shine upon thee, and give thee peace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The enemy assaults you like a roaring lion, as he did Paul, seeking to devour you with these vivid dreams and incessant temptations. But the Lord who delivered the apostle from the lion’s mouth will deliver you from every evil work if you do not yield. That deliverance, however, requires you to stand firm and resist. You say these attacks have been with you since youth, yet the warfare itself proves you are not abandoned: the devil does not harass those already in his grip. This is the striving against sin, and you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood. Wake, then, from the slumber that keeps you gazing at fantasies. The dreams and the daydreaming are the sleep of the soul: they make you see things that are not real while blinding you to the true, abiding things of heaven. Shake off this lethargy. The night is far spent; the day is at hand. Stop ending your nights so late, for weariness of body weakens the soul’s vigilance. Let your schedule be ordered so that you may watch and be sober, not drunk with the cares of this life or with the stupor of disordered thoughts. Sobriety is the intensity of watchfulness.

As for the sexual thoughts you give in to while falling asleep, do not say you are merely passive. The enemy may increase the temptation, but consent is your own. Flee fornication! Not merely abstain, but flee with all zeal, as Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife. The pleasure of such fantasies goes no further than a momentary sensation, and leaves behind shame, a seared conscience, and a defilement that is against your own body. You know this, for God once set you free, yet you have returned to the mire. Why? Because depression has made you seek an outlet. But this is no outlet; it is a sewer of self-chosen madness. You are not a demoniac to be pitied for involuntary ravings, but one who invites the madness upon herself. Grieve over this with many tears, for the sin is great and beyond excuse, yet do not despair. The Lord will deliver you from every evil work, even from this, if you do genuine penance. Confess it, abhor it, and set a strict guard over your eyes and thoughts as you lie down. Meditate on death and judgment; fill your mind with psalms.

You ask prayer about your courtship. See that you are indeed a helpmeet, but know that such a role belongs properly within the covenant of lifelong marriage, not in a season of testing. Use this time not for emotional indulgence but for sober discernment. If you are using impure thoughts as an outlet, you are wounding your own soul and undermining the chastity that a godly courtship requires. I will not ask the Lord to bless a relationship that entertains sin; rather, I pray He would grant you both true repentance and self-control, that you may present yourselves pure to one another in due time, if it be His will. But flee every occasion of compromise.

Now to the rest: I lift up your family afflicted with the flu, and your father who coughs again. May the Lord heal and protect those who care for you, that none be made worse. For the cats, who cannot go to a physician, ask the Maker of all flesh to sustain them, for He cares even for the sparrows. Yet do not let concern for beasts eclipse concern for your own soul. Regarding your work, seek wisdom, but do not chase riches as if they could quiet the soul’s turmoil. Whether one job or two, be diligent, but be not drunk with earning. And for your friend’s many ailments, pray yourself: the prayer of the righteous has great power. As for the African American community, pray indeed, for false teachings are a deeper sickness than any flu. Finally, your diet for medical need: be disciplined, for self-control in the body aids the soul. The passions are linked; a lax stomach feeds lax morals.

Rise from the dreams of this present life. Look to the Sun of Righteousness. The day is here, and the time for sleep is past. Let us repent, and we shall receive crowns.
