Faithful Servant
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. 💔 I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My dad who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Thank you.

We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. The spiritual warfare you describe is real, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we declare that Jesus came so that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you and command every spirit of oppression, torment, and perversion to flee in the name of Jesus. The blood of Jesus covers you, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

The vivid and disturbing dreams you experience are not from God, for He gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2). We pray that the Lord would surround you with His peace as you rest, that He would guard your mind and heart in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7), and that you would dream dreams from Him alone. We bind every spirit of fear, confusion, and perversion that seeks to invade your mind, and we loose the peace of God to flood your soul. The Lord is your refuge and fortress; in Him you will find rest (Psalm 91:1-2).

You are overwhelmed, and we understand the weight of the constant demands and attacks you face. Jesus invites you to come to Him when you are weary and burdened, and He will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). We pray that the Lord would grant you wisdom to prioritize your time, to set boundaries with those who demand too much of you, and to find moments of stillness in His presence. The enemy wants to keep you exhausted and distracted, but God desires to renew your strength (Isaiah 40:31). We declare that your schedule will align with His will, and that you will find rest in Him.

Regarding your work, we pray for clarity and wisdom as you consider your current jobs and any future opportunities. The Lord knows your needs, and He promises to provide for you (Matthew 6:33). We ask that He would open doors for you, whether it be in your current roles or new ones, and that He would grant you favor with your coworkers and supervisors. We declare that every issue you face at work will be resolved according to God’s will, and that you will find fulfillment and purpose in what you do. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

The struggle with maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts is a heavy burden, and we want you to know that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). However, we must address this sin directly, for it grieves the Holy Spirit and gives the enemy a foothold in your life. Sexual sin is a serious matter, and the Bible is clear that we must flee from it (1 Corinthians 6:18). The enemy is using your depression and exhaustion as an opportunity to tempt you, but God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We pray that the Lord would break every chain of lust and perversion in your life, that He would renew your mind with His truth (Romans 12:2), and that He would fill you with His Holy Spirit to resist temptation. Confess this sin to the Lord, repent, and turn away from it, for He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We also encourage you to seek accountability with a trusted believer who can pray with you and help you walk in freedom.

We pray for the African American community to be set free from false teachings and to come into the fullness of the truth of God’s Word. The enemy has sown deception, but the Lord desires that all would come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). We ask that God would raise up faithful teachers and leaders who will proclaim the gospel with boldness and clarity, and that hearts would be turned toward Him.

For your family, we pray for complete healing from the flu and protection over those who are caring for you. The Lord is your healer (Exodus 15:26), and we declare that no one will grow sicker while serving you. We ask that He would strengthen your father and restore him to full health. For your cats, we pray for healing and protection over them. The Lord cares even for the sparrows, and you are of more value than many sparrows (Matthew 10:31). We trust that He will provide for their needs and guide you to the right resources for their care.

We pray that you would remain disciplined in following your medical diet, for your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Ask the Lord for strength and self-control, and He will provide it.

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister in Christ, lifting up every area of their life to You. We declare that the enemy has no authority over them, for they belong to You. We break every chain of spiritual warfare, torment, and sin in the name of Jesus. We ask that You would fill them with Your peace, wisdom, and strength. Grant them rest, healing, and provision in every area. Set them free from every temptation and sin, and lead them into the abundant life You have for them. We pray for their family, their pets, and their community, that Your will would be done in every situation. Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and love. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Thank you for trusting us with so much that’s weighing on your heart right now. We hear how exhausted and ashamed you are, and we’re not looking away. When life feels like a barrage from every side, spiritual oppression, sleepless nights, a mind that won’t quiet, and the physical needs of family and pets, it’s easy to believe we’re fighting alone. But you are not. The enemy often hits hardest when we’re already depleted by depression and fatigue, and the shame you’re carrying is a weapon he uses to isolate you further. God’s mercy isn’t shocked by that, He runs toward us in our messiness.

One small, concrete step that might help steady you: pick one simple bedtime this week that’s just a little earlier than your current pattern, and ask Jesus for the strength to honor it. Even if you don’t fall asleep immediately, lying down in the dark can be an act of surrender, not a failure. When the intrusive sexual thoughts or daydreams start in that drowsy space, try turning your mind gently toward Jesus, not as a formula, but a quiet, honest reaching: “Lord, I’m weak; hold my mind tonight.” If you can, tell a trusted Christian friend what you’re battling. Shame loses its grip when we bring it into the light with someone safe.

For the schedule, maybe write out just a handful of achievable things for tomorrow, nothing grandiose, just your necessary tasks plus one small good thing, like sitting with a cat for ten minutes. That can help push back the overwhelm.

We pray with you now: Lord Jesus, we lift up this brother/sister to You. Silence the spiritual attacks that have hounded them since youth. Grant them rest from disturbing dreams. Give wisdom about jobs, open the right doors, resolve the tensions with coworkers, and guide them in staying or going. Set them free from the cycle of shameful thoughts and daydreaming. By Your Spirit, strengthen them to resist temptation and to reach for You in the quiet moments. Heal their father’s cough, protect the family from the flu, and keep the little cats safe and well, You care about every creature. Surround the African American community with truth and deliver them from deception. Steady this dear one in their diet, and let them feel Your nearness in their depression. We trust You to carry what they cannot. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. This word is as sure as the throne of God; it hath rung out through the ages as a silver bell calling wanderers home, and it rings for you now. You speak of a warfare that hath hounded you from your youth, of dreams that break the night, of a spirit so crushed that you cry, “I would be left alone.” The adversary hath set himself against you, and your own heart, in its exhaustion, betrayeth you into the very snares you hate. Yet the Lord standeth at the door and knocketh, and the promise is not voided by your weakness. There is rest, even now, for those who believe. We which have believed do enter into rest, not a rest earned by strivings, but a gift of the pierced hand, a ceasing from the labour of self-salvation. The first rest is the rest of pardon: peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. When sin is lifted off, the ground of enmity removeth. You are ashamed of the thoughts that steal upon you in the drowsy hours, of the lust that creepeth as a serpent when your guard is down. This is the brier and the thorn of the curse, springing from the old nature; yet the Lord knoweth how to transform the brier into a myrtle. You were once delivered, and you shall be delivered again. It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing. Bring these foul intruders to the cross; confess them to Him who receiveth sinners. Your depression is the soil, but the enemy soweth tares in the dark. Christ must be your outlet; the hungry soul must feed on Him, and then the full soul shall loathe the honeycomb of sin.

Then there is a second rest, found only in submission: Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me. You are harassed by many cares, the ordering of your days, the choice of employments, the sickness of your household, the little creatures you love, the claims of others that press upon you without ceasing. The worldling’s rest is but a painted deception, but the rest of Christ is solid and lasting. Learn of Him who is meek and lowly in heart, and your schedule shall be ordered in wisdom, your decisions steadied. Commit the health of your father, the healing of your cats, and your own diet to Him who comforteth the sparrow. He doth not promise to take away every labour, but He saith, I will strengthen them in the Lord. Though you limp, you shall yet walk in His name. The dreams may still trouble, but the peace of Christ shall garrison your heart; the warfare may not instantly cease, but the victory is already won at Calvary. As for those who are misled by false doctrine, pray and bear witness that the truth alone can make them free.

Now come, with all your shame and weariness. Come to a Person, not a system. He giveth rest to the heavy laden, and He giveth it freely. Take His yoke, and you shall find it no galling burden but a sweet relief. The peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your heart and mind. Let us believe, and so enter into rest.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The constant assaults you endure are no small thing. You have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. The devil attacks most when you are alone and withdrawn, seeking to be left alone. For then most especially does the devil assail, when he sees men left alone and by themselves. Therefore, do not isolate; we have the greatest need to be flocking together continually, that we may not be open to the devil’s attacks.

The vivid and disturbing dreams, the maladaptive daydreaming, and the inappropriate sexual thoughts that trouble you as you fall asleep are like thorns choking your soul. Let us root out the thorns, and then we will scatter the good seed after the thorns have been rooted out, that the divine seed may be received with full virtue. Shake off the deep slumber of these imaginings. Let us put off imaginings, let us get clear of the dreams of this life present, let us lay aside its deep slumber, and be clad in virtue for garments. You must leave these dreams behind as night presses on toward morning.

The sexual thoughts you are giving in to are a self-chosen madness, making you no different from a demoniac, lost to shame and raving. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. Your shame is the sting of conscience; that fear is meant to keep you in chastity. Do not say you have no sin; the freedom you think these thoughts offer is not real. They are dreams that prove to be nothing when the true day comes.

Yet despair not. The Lord delivered Paul from the mouth of the lion, and He will deliver you from every evil work. For that you should be able to resist unto blood striving against sin, and not yield, is a deliverance from another lion, even the devil. This preservation is greater. He will deliver you from the overwhelming flood of demands, from the sickness in your family, and from the anxiety over your cats and your jobs.

Seek help, and do not be afraid to call in also another physician besides; for one Master speaks in all, that is, Christ. He is the physician of your body and soul, and of your beloved animals. Trust Him for discipline in your diet and for wisdom in your employment. Do not fear the multitude of cares; they are but dreams, for when the night comes on, all these things are proved to be nothing. Stand firm, resist, and hold fast to the flock of Christ, and you will be set free.

What a heavy load you are carrying right now, and I want you to know that God sees every detail. The spiritual assaults, the shame over returning to sexual sin, the sheer exhaustion of constant demands, all of it weighs on you, and the enemy wants to use that weight to crush your hope. But the resurrection of Jesus Christ declares a different reality: you have been born again to a living hope, and that hope does not depend on your ability to hold yourself together.

Sin is terribly deceptive. It presents itself as a quick escape from depression or stress, a way to numb the ache or find a moment of release before sleep. But like Samson, who thought he could rise up as before and did not realize the Spirit had left him, you are discovering that what seems like a harmless outlet quickly strips you of strength and leaves you ashamed. The temptation itself is not the sin, remember, Jesus was tempted by the devil and did not yield, but when you welcome those fantasies and let them take root, they conceive and give birth to spiritual death. You are feeling that death now: the guilt, the sadness, the sense of being trapped.

Yet the very shame you feel is proof that the Holy Spirit has not abandoned you. The enemy would love for you to hide in that shame, to cover your sin like David tried to do, but covering sin never brings prosperity. Instead, bring it into the light. The blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, cleanses you from all unrighteousness, not just the sins of your past, but the ones that have crept back in. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed your transgressions. You are not the old car traded in at a loss; you are being made new, washed and purified by His grace.

That grace is not a permission slip to keep sinning, though. How can you who are dead to sin live in it any longer? This is a truth you must reckon with by faith: your old self was crucified with Christ so that your body of sin might be rendered powerless. The temptation will still knock, especially when you are worn down and your flesh craves some immediate fulfillment, that is the same lie Satan used against Jesus, offering a shortcut that would bypass God’s path. But you have a choice. You can stand on the fact that you are alive to God and no longer a slave to lust. You will never win this battle through sheer willpower; only the Holy Spirit’s power can break the tyranny of sin in your members. Cry out to Him in those vulnerable moments, and He will give you a way out.

The depression you are walking through may be testing your faith, but that testing works patience, and patience is what you need right now, because our failure so often comes from refusing to wait on God and reaching for a false comfort instead. You are not alone. Paul cried out, “O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from this body of death?” and the answer is Jesus Christ alone. He has already delivered you, and He will continue to deliver you as you fix your eyes on Him, the One who wore a crown of thorns to bear the curse of your sin.

I am praying also for the relentless pressures of your daily life. You need wisdom about your jobs, and I ask God to guide you clearly. As you consider staying or seeking something else, remember that even the smallest tasks are done before the Lord. Be faithful with your break time, your energy, your work ethic, not stealing time from an employer, but serving as unto Christ. He can make all those workplace issues better or open a door to something new. And for your schedule, pray for the discipline to end your nights earlier so your body and mind can recover.

Lift your flu-stricken family and your three cats to the Lord; He cares about every creature and every cough. I ask for complete healing and for protection over those caring for you. For your diet, remember that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and He will supply the self-control you need to honor Him in what you eat.

Finally, I join you in praying against false teachings that enslave minds and hearts in the African American community. Only the truth of the gospel sets people free, and that truth must be proclaimed with love and clarity. You are not forgotten in any of this. The grace that overflowed when sin abounded is still greater than all your sin, and the living hope confirmed by Jesus’ resurrection will carry you through. Rest in that finished work, and keep fighting the good fight, not in your own strength, but in His.
