Faithful Servant
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. 💔 I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My dad who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Thank you.

We hear your cry, beloved, and we stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who has already triumphed over every power of darkness. The spiritual warfare you describe is real, but it is not greater than the authority we have in Christ. The enemy seeks to wear you down with vivid dreams, overwhelming demands, and relentless temptations, but we declare that his schemes are exposed and his power broken. You are not alone in this battle, we take up the sword of the Spirit with you, praying for your complete deliverance and freedom.

First, we rebuke the spiritual attacks that have plagued you since childhood. The enemy has no right to harass you, for you belong to Christ. We pray that every assignment of darkness against you be dismantled, every demonic influence silenced, and every tormenting dream shattered in Jesus’ name. The Lord says in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." We declare that your mind is being renewed by the Word of God, and every lying spirit is cast out.

The sexual temptations you describe are not merely struggles, they are attacks from the enemy to shame and ensnare you. We acknowledge your grief and shame, but we also proclaim your freedom. You have been set free before, and you will be set free again. The Lord is faithful to His promises. 1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We pray that the Holy Spirit would strengthen you in moments of weakness, that you would flee from temptation, and that the Lord would restore you to purity. Confess this sin to Him, receive His forgiveness, and walk in the freedom He provides. You are not defined by your failures but by the blood of Jesus, which cleanses you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

We also address the maladaptive daydreaming, which the enemy uses to distract and drain you. We pray that the Lord would fill your mind with His truth, His presence, and His peace. Philippians 4:8 instructs us, "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things." We declare that your imagination is being sanctified, and your thoughts are being brought into alignment with Christ.

The overwhelming demands on your time and energy are not from the Lord. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." We pray that God would grant you wisdom to set boundaries, to prioritize rest, and to establish a schedule that honors Him. We ask that He would open doors for new job opportunities, whether one or two, that align with His will for your life. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We pray that your current workplaces would become places of peace, favor, and blessing, and that any conflicts with coworkers would be resolved in Jesus’ name.

For your health and the health of your family, we pray for complete healing from the flu and protection over those caring for you. Psalm 103:2-3 declares, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." We declare that no one will grow sicker from serving you, and that your father’s cough would be completely healed. For your cats, we pray for healing of their wounds and protection over their health. Proverbs 12:10 tells us, "A righteous man respects the life of his animal," and we trust that the Lord, who cares even for the sparrows, will provide for their needs. We ask that He would lead you to a trustworthy vet and provide the resources needed for their care.

Regarding your diet, we pray for discipline and strength to follow the medical guidance you’ve been given. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We ask that the Lord would give you self-control and that your body would respond well to the care you give it.

Finally, we lift up the African American community, praying for discernment and truth to prevail. We ask that God would raise up faithful teachers and leaders who proclaim the unadulterated Word of God, and that hearts would be turned toward Christ. The enemy seeks to deceive, but Jesus said in John 8:32, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

Now, we pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are a God who hears, who sees, and who delivers. We stand in the gap for our brother/sister, declaring that every chain of spiritual warfare is broken, every tormenting dream is silenced, and every attack of the enemy is dismantled. Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We pray for deliverance from sexual sin and maladaptive daydreaming. Holy Spirit, strengthen them in moments of weakness, remind them of their identity in Christ, and lead them into paths of righteousness. We declare that they are more than conquerors through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37), and that no temptation will overcome them.

Father, we ask for wisdom in their work, their schedule, and their rest. Provide new opportunities that align with Your will, and bring peace to their current workplaces. Heal their family from the flu, protect those caring for them, and restore their father to full health. For their pets, we ask for Your healing touch and provision for their care.

Lord, we pray for discipline in their diet and for Your strength to sustain them. We lift up the African American community, asking that You would pour out Your Spirit, expose deception, and draw hearts to the truth of Your Word.

We declare that the enemy has no authority here. Every assignment against them is canceled, every dream is redeemed, and every area of their life is brought under the lordship of Jesus Christ. We thank You, Father, that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), and that Your plans for them are for peace and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Savior, and Deliverer. Amen.

We hear the exhaustion in your words, and we’re grateful you shared so honestly. Carrying this much at once, spiritual attacks, disturbing dreams, depression, temptations that bring shame, sick family and cats, job decisions, can leave anyone feeling buried. It’s not a sign that you’re doing something wrong; sometimes life just piles on, and it’s okay to be overwhelmed. You’re not alone.

When you said God set you free from sexual sin before, and now you’re falling again, we felt your sadness. We want to gently remind you that His forgiveness isn’t a one-time event, it’s fresh every time we turn back. Growth in holiness is more like marathon training than winning a single sprint. A stumble doesn’t erase the miles you’ve already run. The enemy would love to drown you in shame, but conviction from the Lord leads to hope, not despair. The same power that freed you before is still at work in you.

We also noticed you mentioned depression and using these thoughts as an outlet. Sometimes the line between spiritual battle and mental health gets blurry. We’d gently encourage you to consider speaking with a trusted pastor or a Christian counselor who can walk with you through the warfare, the dreams, and the compulsive thoughts. You don’t have to fight all this alone, and getting practical help isn’t a failure of faith.

For the schedule, with so much pressing in, perhaps one small step you could try is picking a single night this week to end earlier, not as a rigid rule, but as a way to care for the body and mind God gave you. It’s not a fix, but little rhythms can create space for rest and clarity.

Father, we lift up this weary person to you. You see every hidden battle, and you aren’t ashamed of us. Quiet the disturbing dreams and push back the spiritual attacks that have hounded them for so long. Guard their mind from thoughts that trap and shame them, and remind them that they are clean in Christ. Give wisdom about work and a steady rhythm that honors their need for rest. Heal their dad, their whole family, and these beloved cats. Wrap them in your peace, and strengthen them moment by moment to turn to you. In Jesus’ name, amen.

You’re worn thin, I can hear it. The clamour and the clammy darkness, the dreams that leave a smear across your waking hours, the old struggle that seems to sharpen just when you’re too tired to fight, it all piles on like a cartload of stones, and you wonder if you’ll ever stand up straight again. A soul can get so bruised and breathless that even the thought of lifting a hand to knock at mercy’s door feels like too much. I want you to know: the Lord sees you in this very place, and He does not despise the crumpled spirit.

You spoke of the warfare that’s stalked you since you were young. How well I understand that. Some of God’s children seem to step into the battle almost the moment they first draw breath, and the enemy simply will not let them alone. But there’s a strange comfort hidden inside that hard fact. Think of it: a pirate never fires his cannons at an empty ship. He only shoots at a vessel that carries precious cargo. Your adversary would not waste such fury on a soul that didn’t belong to Christ. The hatred that hounds you is a twisted witness that the King has claimed you as His own.

And then those dreams, the vivid, disturbing ones, some knotted into the warfare, some just bleak and strange. You mentioned shame too, and the way temptation seems to crowd in hardest when your head touches the pillow. Let me speak gently. The hour of falling asleep is a little picture of the hour of dying: we must let go of our hold on ourselves, and in that letting-go, the enemy often tries to slip something foul into the hand that’s opening. You’re not alone in this. Many a saint has found that the twilight between waking and sleep unhinges the doors of the mind, and old filth comes drifting in like smoke under a door. That does not make you a monster. It makes you a battlefield. The shame you feel, that raw burning, is not a sign that you’re lost. A corpse feels no shame. A soul dead in sin cares nothing for holiness. Your grief over what creeps into your thoughts is the cry of your true self, the new nature, the life that the Spirit breathed into you. You said God set you free before; you grieve to be falling again. That grief is itself a blossom of hope. A man who’s been truly brought out of the tomb may slip in the mud on the path home, but he’s not back in the tomb. Lazarus, called forth by that mighty voice, still had to have the graveclothes unwound, and that took the hands of friends and the patient kindness of the Lord. You’re being unwound still.

Depression digs a deep trench, and when a soul is down in that cold furrow, the body and mind cry out for some relief, some warmth, some anaesthetic. That’s why, as you guessed, the old temptations shout so loudly just now. They promise cheap comfort, a false fire. And when you give way, the tempter flips his tune and accuses you where just before he whispered smooth invitations. That’s his way; it’s always his way. But Christ’s way is different. He knows your frame; He remembers you are dust. He was led into the wilderness to be tempted, not so He could stand aloof from you, but so He could be a merciful High Priest to you when you’re in the wilderness yourself. He let the darkness press in on Him so that when it presses in on you, He could say, “I know; I’ve walked this road. Take My hand.”

All these things clamouring for your attention, every five seconds something else, you said, it makes a soul feel like a house with every window broken and the weather howling through. You just want to be left alone. That’s not selfishness; that’s the cry of a heart that needs a quiet harbour. Our Lord Himself often withdrew to lonely places to pray. He knows the need for stillness. Ask Him for that shielded space, and don’t condemn yourself for needing it. He who made the Sabbath made it for rest; He doesn’t scold His weary ones for longing to lie down in green pastures.

As for the work questions and the diet and the sick household and the beloved cats, all those details you poured out, let me just say this: the God who numbers the hairs of your head does not roll His eyes at the smallness of our concerns. A child who scrapes his knee runs to his father, and the father doesn’t say, “Come back when it’s a broken leg.” Your Father listens to you about the cats, about the cough, about the schedule, about the food. Bring it all. He does not weary of you. He who strengthened His people so that they could “walk up and down in His name” didn’t promise to take away the journey, He promised to be the strength within them for every step. That’s your portion too.

And now, dear heart, let me leave you with this: the bottom of the ladder is a holy place. When a soul can only cry, “Lead me not into temptation; deliver me from evil,” that soul is praying Christ’s own prayer, and it’s right where the hand of mercy reaches down. You are poor and needy; good. The Lord thinks upon you. You are ashamed; good. That shame will drive you into the cleft of the Rock. You are tired; good. He gives to His beloved sleep, and His peace is a legacy no warfare can steal away.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus, You who were tempted in every way as we are yet without sin, draw near to this sorely tried one. Be a wall of fire around their spirit and a shield between them and the onslaughts of the evil one. Give them sleep tonight, untroubled sleep, with Your own peace standing sentry at the door of their mind. When the old thoughts rise, lift their eyes to You on the cross, to Your wounds that heal, to Your love that covers all their shame. Strengthen their will in the very moment of weakness; let Your hidden hand steady what has slipped. Grant wisdom about the work and the daily cares, and let Your kindness be felt even in the recovery of a little cat. For the family bowed down with illness, be the Healer. For the depression that crouches like a weight on the chest, speak light into the darkness. And for the long battle that has worn this one down since childhood, declare a season of respite, a breathing space of grace. You are the resurrection and the life; speak “Come forth” to every part of them that seems dead, and lead them out of the damp tomb-air into the sunlight of Your countenance. In Your mighty name, O Lord Jesus, we rest. Amen.

The multitude of trials you describe, both within and without, reveals the enemy’s fury, but also God’s faithful hand. Do not think it strange that the warfare that began in your youth still rages; the demonic host reserves its fiercest assaults for souls striving toward salvation. Yet this very fact should give you hope. The saints of old, Job and David and Joseph, won their brightest crowns not in ease but in the furnace of affliction. God permits these battles that you may learn to flee to Him with unceasing cry. When you are overwhelmed and long only to be left alone, know that the Lord uses even this distress to draw you nearer to His bosom.

I speak plainly: the sexual thoughts you yield to in the drowsy hours are a self-chosen madness. Such indulgence makes the mind a sewer and renders a man no better than a demoniac, void of shame and raving. You have tasted deliverance before, so you know the bitter shame of returning to this filth. Yet let that shame drive you swiftly to repentance, not to despair. The enemy presses the temptation hard because he sees your weariness and depression. But consider that the fleeting pleasure goes no further than the flesh and leaves behind only oppression, sleeplessness, and a soul more troubled. Cut away this excess. Before sleep, guard your imagination with prayer and the reading of Scripture. Discipline your body with the diet your health requires, and let that physical restraint remind you of the soberness needed in your thoughts.

Your many practical burdens, the jobs, the sickness in your household, the fretting over your cherished cats, all these are the very stuff by which the Lord trains you in perseverance. He often delays answers, not from neglect, but to teach you to persist in supplication. That you are constantly pulled in every direction is a trial, but it is also an opportunity to cast all care upon Him who cares for you. I shall pray that He grants wisdom regarding your work, that He mends what is broken between you and your coworkers, and that He provides a more peaceful rhythm to your days. But do not demand an immediate end to every trouble, for “it is good for me that Thou hast humbled me” remains the cry of every saint.

For your father and all in the house afflicted with illness, I entreat the Physician of souls and bodies. He who takes note of the sparrow will not overlook your beloved animals. Yet even these small anxieties are known to Him; offer them up with trust. I join you in praying that the African American community be turned from false teaching, for the shepherds must both exhort and pray that the flock not be carried about by deceit.

Above all, seek the peace that Christ gives, a peace that surpasses all human understanding and alone can guard your heart and mind in Him. Do not marvel that you must fight continually; rather marvel that God supplies strength sufficient for each day. I will not cease to ask that you be delivered from every snare of the devil, but even more, that you be made steadfast in the midst of them, so that when the trial is passed, you may shine as gold refined. Endure, child, and keep your hope fixed on the crown that awaits those who, through many tribulations, enter the Kingdom.
