Spiritual warfare and church

Dhitlor

Humble Servant of All
Please pray for me for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was a child. Pray also for an end to how it uses certain people around me. Pray for an end to how it uses certain people/things in my environment to cause sleep deprivation. Lately, I've had very little patience to tolerate how it uses certain people in my life to target me. Please also pray for me about church as I'm really struggling with conflicting thoughts about whether I should continue to attend the church that I attend. Because of certain concerns that I have (and certain experiences I've been having at church), I really feel like I don't want to interact with church right now - like I need a break from the church I go to. Bible study is today but I don't really want to go. However, I'm scared that if I don't go to this or church, this warfare I'm writing about will attack me harder which it tends to do if I don't go to church. Please also pray for me about a problem I'm having with someone in my life related to this warfare I've mentioned. This person is someone who I knew in passing for a while but avoided due to the fact that this warfare (which controlled my life for years - it influences people in my life/environment to do terrible things to me to try to push me toward unforgiveness and likely other things) convinced me that they were not someone I should interact with deeply. However, as God started to deliver me out of this warfare and the unforgiveness it caused (and which kept it in my life), I started interacting with them and although there are concerns about this person being involved in false teachings (which, unbeknownst to them, is opening their life up to demonic forces which cause negative behaviors and other problems in their life), I have enjoyed them being in my life. However, lately, I have noticed a pattern (especially when I'm faltering with handling the warfare I've mentioned as God is directing me to) with them being very rude to me at certain moments (and these moments usually coincide with times where I'm trying to do something nice for them). Please pray for me about this as I know that this behavior is not their own but it happening does still create a level of anxiety now in my interactions with them. Thank you.

We stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, through whom we have access to the Father and the power to overcome every scheme of the enemy. We recognize the intense spiritual warfare you’ve endured since childhood, and we declare that this battle is not yours alone—it belongs to the Lord. The Word of God assures us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12). We take authority over every demonic assignment targeting you, every spirit of sleep deprivation, and every person being used as an instrument of the enemy to harass or provoke you. In the name of Jesus, we break these chains and command every lying spirit to flee. You are not abandoned, and you are not without defense.

We must address the fear that keeps you bound to attending church out of obligation rather than joy or conviction. While the enemy would love to isolate you, we must also examine whether your current church environment is truly aligned with God’s Word and His heart for His people. The church is the body of Christ, but not every gathering that calls itself a church operates under His authority. If there are concerns about false teachings, ungodly influences, or even demonic activity manifesting in that space, it is wise to seek the Lord’s guidance about where He would have you fellowship. The early church faced similar struggles, and Paul warned, *"For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Christ’s apostles. And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light"* (2 Corinthians 11:13-14). Do not remain in a place where you are spiritually starved or under attack simply out of fear. Instead, ask the Lord to lead you to a body of believers where you can grow, be protected, and thrive in His presence.

We rebuke the spirit of unforgiveness that has taken root in your heart, for it is a foothold the enemy has used to keep you in bondage. Jesus made it clear: *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses"* (Matthew 6:14-15). The person you mentioned is not your enemy, even if they are being influenced by demonic forces. Pray for them, as Jesus commanded us to love and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). However, we also caution you to guard your heart and set boundaries if their behavior continues to harm you. False teachings open doors to demonic influence, and while we must extend grace, we must also be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16). Ask the Lord to reveal whether this relationship is one He has ordained for your growth or if it is a distraction from His purpose for you.

We pray now with authority and compassion:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the One who has already defeated every enemy and disarmed every principality. We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your divine protection and deliverance from the spiritual warfare that has plagued them for so long. Lord, we break every curse, every assignment of the enemy, and every demonic influence targeting them. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we command every lying spirit to flee in Jesus’ name.

Father, we ask You to expose any falsehood in their life—whether in their church, relationships, or personal walk with You. Give them discernment to recognize truth from deception and the courage to walk away from anything that does not align with Your Word. Lead them to a church where Your presence is evident, where the teaching is sound, and where they can grow in faith without fear. If it is Your will for them to stay where they are, give them strength to endure and wisdom to navigate the challenges.

Lord, we pray for the person in their life who has been used by the enemy. Soften their heart, open their eyes to the truth, and deliver them from any demonic influence. Help our brother/sister to extend forgiveness while also protecting their own heart. Teach them how to love as You love—with boundaries that honor You.

We ask for restful sleep, peace in their mind, and patience in their spirit. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in victory and not in fear. Remind them that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Strengthen their faith so that they may stand firm, knowing that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. We trust in Your promise that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). May they feel Your presence in a tangible way, and may they walk in the freedom that Christ died to give them. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We're here for you, standing with you in this trial. We understand the weariness and confusion you're feeling, but remember, God is still on His throne, and He's fighting for you. We claim the promises of God over your life, that He who has begun a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).

We pray for a spirit of discernment to guide you, that you may understand God's will for your life clearly. We ask that He would reveal any false teachings or influences in your church or relationships, and give you the courage to walk away from them. We also pray for a spirit of wisdom and understanding, that you may know how to navigate your current situation and make decisions that align with God's heart.

We intercede for the person in your life who has been used by the enemy. We ask that God would soften their heart and open their eyes to the truth. We pray for forgiveness to flow freely in your life, that you may be released from the burden of unforgiveness and bitterness. We also pray for boundaries, that you may love as Jesus loves, with wisdom and discernment.

We claim peace and rest for your mind and spirit. We pray for patience and understanding, that you may endure this trial with grace and faith. We declare that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

We thank God for His faithfulness, and we trust in His promises. We believe that He will complete the good work He has started in you, and that you will walk in freedom and victory.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
