Good and Faithful Servant
I have posted before about spiritual warfare that has been targeting me for years in retaliation for me leaving the new age/witchcraft and coming back to Christ. Well, this warfare sometimes even attacks me through people at my church. Even though I understand that the things people do to me under the influence of this warfare is not indicative of their true feelings toward me (and when someone is used by this warfare, I always end up finding out that there is some area of their life where they are open to being used by demons whether it be through allowing worldliness into their life in some way or due to untreated mental illness), it is still difficult to constantly have to deal with these attacks and resist them the way I have to. I'm really tired of all this. Please pray for me about this. I've started wanting to periodically take breaks from church due to this. Thank you.

We hear your weariness and the deep struggle you are enduring as you stand firm in your faith after turning away from the darkness of the new age and witchcraft. The spiritual warfare you face is real, and it is no small thing to endure attacks, even through those within the church. We stand with you, lifting you before the throne of grace, where our Lord Jesus Christ intercedes for you.

First, we must rebuke the enemy’s schemes in the mighty name of Jesus. The Word declares in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you." You have already taken the most critical step by submitting to God and resisting the devil’s influence. The attacks you face are not a sign of God’s abandonment but evidence of the enemy’s fury at your allegiance to Christ. We declare that these attacks will not prevail against you, for "greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

We also want to address the pain of being targeted through fellow believers. It is grievous when the body of Christ is used as a vessel for the enemy’s work, but we must remember that even the godliest among us are not immune to spiritual blindness or deception. The Apostle Paul warned in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." The people acting against you are not your true enemies, though it may feel that way. Pray for them, as Jesus commanded in Matthew 5:44: "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you." This does not mean you must subject yourself to ongoing harm, but it does mean you can release bitterness and entrust them to God’s justice and mercy.

Your desire to take breaks from church is understandable, but we gently caution against isolating yourself. Hebrews 10:24-25 urges us, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching." The enemy would love nothing more than to separate you from the fellowship of believers, where you are strengthened and protected. If the attacks are overwhelming, consider speaking with your pastor or a trusted elder about what you’re experiencing. A mature, discerning leader can offer prayer, accountability, and even help address any ungodly influences within the congregation. If your current church is not a safe or edifying place, ask the Lord to guide you to a body of believers where you can grow and serve without constant spiritual assault.

We also encourage you to examine your own heart and life for any areas where the enemy might still have a foothold. Ephesians 4:27 warns, "Don’t give place to the devil." Have you fully renounced all ties to your past involvement in the new age or witchcraft? Are there any lingering habits, relationships, or thought patterns that do not align with Scripture? Confess these to the Lord and seek deliverance through prayer, fasting, and the counsel of godly believers. Psalm 51:10 is a powerful prayer: "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me."

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who has already defeated the powers of darkness. We lift up our sister in Christ, who is enduring relentless spiritual warfare as she seeks to walk faithfully with You. Lord, we ask that You would be her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Surround her with Your angels, as You promise in Psalm 91:11-12: "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."

Father, we rebuke every assignment of the enemy against her life, her mind, and her spirit. We declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we command every spirit of retaliation, deception, and division to flee in Jesus’ name. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and remind her that You are with her always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). Fill her with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and renew her strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31).

We pray for her church, Lord. Expose any hidden darkness and bring repentance and healing where it is needed. Raise up godly leaders who will shepherd Your flock with wisdom and discernment. If it is Your will for her to remain in this congregation, give her the grace to endure and the love to pray for those who have been used against her. If You are calling her elsewhere, make the path clear and provide a church family where she can thrive.

Above all, Lord, draw her closer to You. Let this trial refine her faith and deepen her dependence on You. May she find rest in Your presence and joy in Your salvation. We thank You for her testimony and for the victory that is already hers in Christ. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). The battle is fierce, but the victory is already won. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). You are not alone in this fight, we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord of Hosts stands with you. Press on, dear sister, and may the God of peace crush Satan under your feet shortly (Romans 16:20).

We hear how exhausting this is, not just the warfare itself, but the loneliness of facing it through people you should be able to lean on inside the church. It makes sense that you’re tired. Withdrawing for a while probably feels like the only way to get relief, and we don’t dismiss that desire.

What we’ve seen again and again, though, is that the enemy works hardest to isolate a believer right when they most need the body. Pulling away would cut you off from the very thing meant to help you stand firm, the encouragement, prayers, and presence of others who love Jesus. We’re not saying it’s easy to stay, but we think even a small, steady connection can make a difference. Is there one mature, safe person in the church you could quietly confide in, someone who would not overreact but simply stay close and pray with you regularly? You don’t need a whole crowd; just a trusted companion can be a lifeline.

You’ve already shown real discernment in recognizing that these incidents aren’t the true heart of the people involved. That takes spiritual maturity. At the same time, bearing that understanding while the attacks keep coming wears you down. Please don’t try to carry this alone. Let someone else help you carry it, even if it’s just one or two believers who won’t judge you. And when you feel worn thin, the simplest disciplines, quiet prayer, a psalm spoken aloud, remaining in the service even when you feel nothing, tend to anchor us when the battle rages loudest.

Lord Jesus, we ask for this dear brother/sister. You see the relentless spiritual assault and the hurt that has come through fellow churchgoers. Please shield them with Your presence. Renew their strength when they have none left. Lead them to a trusted friend inside the church who will stand with them faithfully. Quiet the noise of the enemy, and let Your peace settle deep in their heart. In Jesus’ name.

To flee from the assembly of the saints because the enemy has fired his darts through unwitting hands is to play directly into his foul design. The church is your mother, the very place of nurture for such as you who have been snatched from the miry pit of witchcraft and new age deception. It is in her bosom that the newborn child in Christ finds milk, warmth, and the steady heartbeat of the Spirit. To withdraw, even for a season, is to risk spiritual starvation and expose your soul afresh to the wolves you have escaped.

The church militant is never free from mixture. Tares will grow among the wheat until the harvest, and even true brethren may, through worldliness or unconfessed sin, become channels for the adversary’s mischief. But this is no reason to abandon the camp. Did not the blessed apostle find a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet him? And yet he gloried in his infirmities that the power of Christ might rest upon him. Your warfare is not against the poor souls who are momentarily used, but against principalities and powers. Against these, the church is God’s rampart, the hill of Zion round about which He encamps. When you step outside her fellowship, you step from behind the bulwark into the open field where the adversary rages unchecked.

I beg you, consider the times. This is an age of enchanted ground, where slumber steals over the watchful. To stand firm through such assaults you need something more than mortal resolution, you need the very keeping power of God. And that keeping power is ordinarily ministered through the body of believers. In the church, the Holy Spirit sends showers of blessing to revive the drooping spirit. In the church, the steadfast prayers of the saints carry you when your own strength fails. In the church, the new convert’s zeal rekindles the fire among older members, and you, dear soul, are such a one, a living token that the Lord adds daily to His flock such as should be saved.

I sorrow to hear that your spirit is wearied. Yet remember, it is often through much tribulation that we enter the kingdom. The early saints ate their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God, even while enduring contradiction from without and within. The church at Corinth was rent with divisions, carnality, and even tolerated sin, and yet the apostle addressed them as saints, called and beloved, for the church belongs to Christ, and He is sanctifying her. That same Lord has His eye upon you. He knows every false accusation, every cold word, every strange look that has been aimed at you. He will not suffer you to be tempted above measure, but will with the temptation make a way of escape.

Do not, then, draw back unto perdition. Let me hear no more of periodic breaks from the visible body, for you break yourself from the very means of grace ordained for your succor. The family register, the church book, bears your name, if you have indeed given yourself to the Lord and to His people. You are not a mere attender; you are a member of the mother, and she has need of you. Even now, your testimony strengthens the hands of others who wrestle in secret. Your presence is a star lit by the Lord to gladden this world’s night.

Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth. In due season the shower shall come, the blessing promised to the hill of Zion. Until then, let your prayer be not to be removed from the battle, but to be armed with more grace to endure it. And be assured, your name is lifted up among us who cry day and night for the increase and purity of the church, that she may be ever more a joy and a crown to her returning Lord.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The desire to take breaks from the assembly of the faithful is one of the enemy’s cunning devices, for he knows that when you are alone, you are far more open to his attacks. The Spirit led Christ into the wilderness, giving the devil a handle by solitude, and so he always assails when he finds people isolated. For this very reason we need to be flocking together continually, that we may not be made easy prey. Do not separate yourself from the body where the Lord’s protection is strongest.

You are tired, but this is the moment when perseverance gains its crown. Remember the Canaanite woman, who even when called a dog clung to the Master and received the children’s bread. Remember the widow who by her importunity prevailed, and the friend at midnight who by persistence obtained what he asked. Hast thou not heard of the Syrophœnician woman, how her constant entreaty called forth the Lord’s compassion? All these gained their object by not giving up. So pray without ceasing, at all seasons, and watch thereunto with all perseverance.

Think also of the man at the pool, thirty-eight years crippled, waiting while others stepped down before him. The Lord came to him not to learn, but to show his perseverance, and then he was made whole. You have already shown great endurance in renouncing the new age and witchcraft and returning to Christ. Do not now grow weary. The attacks that come through people in the church are indeed the work of demons using those who have left some door open in their lives, but such persons are like demoniacs, lost to shame and raging. Yet they are to be pitied, and your steadfastness in the face of their assaults may become a means of their own awakening.

Consider that you are engaged in a holy trade, a spiritual exchange. As you endure these carnal afflictions and offer up your perseverance, you receive spiritual riches in return. This traffic is performed on earth but completed in heaven. Let your presence in the church, your prayers, and your refusal to retreat be a continual offering to God. Repent of any hardness of heart, increase your alms, and trust that He who has begun a good work in you will bring it to completion.
