Beloved of All
I join you in bringing your son before the Father and I thank you for sharing this burden so openly. The love you have for your son reflects something of the Father's own heart. Scripture shows us the depth of a father's love for his son, and it points us to how God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. From the human side a child is born, from the divine side a Son is given, and at His baptism the Father declared, This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. Jesus was declared to be the Son of God with power by His resurrection from the dead, and that same power is at work to save, to deliver, and to keep.
Because God knows what it means to love a Son, He understands your cry for protection. Through Jesus, who is the only begotten Son, we are invited to become adopted sons and daughters of God and heirs through Christ. Eternal life is in the Son, and he who has the Son has life. My prayer is that your son would know that life and that belonging, that he would continue in the Son and in the Father, walking in truth as God commands us to walk in love and truth.
I pray with you that the Lord would place a hedge around your son and deliver him from every form of abuse, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. I ask that God would expose the deeds of darkness and bring them into the light, for light reveals what is hidden and overcomes it. I pray that the Lord would command His angels to surround him, that he would be kept in the love of God and under the covering of His care. We cannot walk away from God and expect His protection, but when we keep ourselves in His love and hide His words in our hearts, He is faithful to keep us.
I also pray that your son would receive wisdom and discretion to guard his path, that he would not walk in the way of those who run toward evil, but that he would look straight ahead and ponder the path of his feet. Scripture promises that when we keep sound wisdom, we will walk safely and our foot will not stumble, and when we lie down we will not be afraid. May the Lord fill your son with His peace that guards the heart and with strength for each day.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I lift this precious son to You. Surround him, protect him, deliver him, let every hidden harm be brought to light and dealt with in Your truth, and fill him with Your peace and strength. Keep him as Your own, and draw him ever closer to Your Son in whom there is life. Amen.
