Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son reflects the heart of a parent who loves deeply, and God understands that love fully. Scripture shows the love of a father for his son as one of the strongest pictures of love we have, and it points us to the love of the Heavenly Father who gave His only begotten Son for us. Because He gave His Son, born of a woman and made under the law to redeem us, He knows what it means to love a son and to desire his protection and good. Through that Son we are adopted into His family, and the Spirit of His Son in our hearts allows us to cry Abba, Father. You can bring your son before that Father with confidence.
Like those who cried out, Have mercy upon us, O Lord, Son of David, and would not be silenced even when the crowd told them to be quiet, you are right to keep crying out for mercy. Jesus stood still when He heard that persistent cry, and He hears you now. He is both the Son of David according to His humanity, the promised one to sit on the throne forever, and the Son of God according to His divine nature, declared with power by His resurrection. His name is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, and Emmanuel which means God with us. That means He is present with your son even now, able to counsel, to be mighty to save, and to bring peace where there has been turmoil.
You asked for a hedge of protection and for deliverance from every form of abuse, physical, emotional and spiritual. It is right to ask God to expose the deeds of darkness and bring them to light, for God is light and truth has no fellowship with darkness. Where wickedness and oppression remain hidden there can be no real peace, but God brings what is hidden into the light so that it can be dealt with in truth and in love. Pray that the Lord surrounds your son with His presence and with His angels, for He gives His angels charge over those who fear Him, and that He fills your son with strength in his inner being.
You also prayed for peace and strength for him. There are two kinds of peace that God gives. First there is peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ, and then there is the peace of God that guards the heart and mind. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world gives. That peace is not dependent on circumstances but comes from knowing His grace. Grace must come first, then peace follows. Ask the Lord to help your son know that grace deeply, that he may experience that guarding peace even while God works to deliver him.
Scripture often speaks as a father to a son, saying My son, hear the instruction of your father and do not forsake the law of your mother, and My son, if you will receive my words and incline your ear to wisdom. Pray that your son will be given wisdom to recognize truth, courage to walk in it, and the assurance that he is loved and corrected not in harshness but as a father delights in his son. The Lord corrects and trains those He receives as sons, not to harm them but to establish them.
May the Lord hear your persistent cry, encircle your son with protection, uncover every hidden work of harm, and establish him in truth. May He reveal Himself to your son as Father, draw him to honor and know the Son, and fill him with the peace that passes understanding and with renewed strength day by day.
