Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son is heard by a Father who knows what it means to love a son. From the human side a child is born, but from the divine side a Son is given, and God gave His only begotten Son because of love. At the baptism the voice from heaven said, This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, and that same love that the Father has for the Son is extended to us. In the fullness of time God sent His Son, born of a woman, so that we who were under the law might be adopted as sons and become heirs through Christ. That is the hope we hold out for your son as well, that he would know Jesus as the Son of God, because the record God has given is that eternal life is in His Son and he who has the Son has life.
I join you in asking the Lord to place a hedge of protection around your son and to deliver him from every form of abuse, whether physical, emotional or spiritual. Scripture calls us to expose the deeds of darkness and bring them to light, and we pray that whatever is hidden and harmful would be uncovered so that truth prevails and he is kept safe. We ask the Lord to command His angels concerning him, for they are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation, and to surround him with watchful care. We also pray that God will fill him with His peace that guards the heart and with strength for each day, so that fear is quieted and he is upheld by the Lord's right hand.
We pray too that your son will walk in truth and wisdom. As a father exhorts his son to keep sound wisdom and discretion, to turn his feet from the path of evil and to ponder the way he goes, so we ask that the Lord will guide your son to walk safely, that when he lies down he will not be afraid, and that his steps will be established. The Scriptures encourage us to keep ourselves in the love of God, not to walk away from Him and expect His protection from a distance, but to remain close to Him in obedience and faith. As you continue to pray and to walk in truth yourself, trust that the Father who did not withhold His own Son will not withhold His mercy, protection and grace from your son.
Father, in the name of Jesus we lift this son to You. Cover him, deliver him, let light shine on every dark place, station Your angels around him, and pour into his heart Your peace and strength. Draw him to Your Son that he may have life in Him, and keep him as Your adopted child, walking in truth and love all his days. Amen.
