Thank you for sharing this need and allowing us to pray for you. It is painful to deal with a chemical burn and ongoing irritation, especially in such a sensitive area, and we are bringing your healing before the Lord.
Please know that sickness and injury are not necessarily a sign that God is directly punishing you. Good people suffer in many ways, and much of the pain and brokenness we experience in our bodies comes indirectly from living in a world that has been corrupted by sin. From the beginning, sin brought pain, weakness and death into human life, and our bodies still groan under that burden as we wait for the full redemption God has promised. God is not against you in this. He is for you and desires what is good for you.
We believe strongly that God heals, and Scripture shows His healing is broader than only spiritual healing. Isaiah speaks of the work of the Messiah in a way that includes both soul and body, and the Lord has shown His power to heal in many different ways. Sometimes Jesus healed with a word, sometimes with a touch, sometimes instantly and sometimes gradually. There is one account where healing came in stages, which reminds us that gradual healing is still real healing. The Lord is not confined to one pattern.
The body itself reflects His healing provision. God created the natural processes by which skin repairs and pain subsides, and any healing, whether sudden or step by step, is still divine because He is the one who designed those processes.
When God provided healing for the people bitten by serpents in the wilderness, He lifted up a brass serpent on a pole. Brass spoke of judgment and the serpent spoke of sin, so it was a picture that their sin had been judged and provision had been made. Their part was simply to look in faith and live. That provision points us to Jesus, who was lifted up for us so that judgment for sin was completed and we can look to Him in faith for every need, including physical healing. Like the woman who reached out to touch the hem of His garment, faith reaches out to Him and virtue goes forth from Him to heal.
We do not fully understand why some are healed instantly and others experience healing over time, but we can trust Him even when we do not have all the answers. Pain and difficulty can also be used by God to shape character, but His ultimate purpose is to conform us to the image of Christ and to bring us into wholeness.
So we are praying for you now, that the Lord would touch your left armpit, calm the irritation, ease the pain, and restore the skin quickly. We ask Him to guide any care you receive and to work through the healing processes He placed in your body, and to grant you comfort and peace as you wait on Him. May you sense His presence and His care for you, and may you be encouraged to keep looking to Jesus, trusting Him for mercy and healing.
Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this burn and irritation to You. Please relieve the pain, remove the inflammation, and bring quick and complete healing to this skin. Give comfort, protection from infection, and strength while the body mends. We trust Your goodness and Your power to heal. Amen.
