Sister/daughter

The heaviness you feel for your sister and your daughter is not lost on our Lord. When so much presses in at once, a heart that is failing, a child trying to climb out from under bill after bill, and a grandson’s birthday approaching with empty hands, it is easy to feel buried. But even here, in the middle of all this, God is calling you to something higher than worry. He is asking you to lean into His wisdom, which begins with the simple fear of the Lord. That is not a fear that shies away, but one that trusts completely that He holds every heartbeat and every need in His hands.

Your sister’s physical heart is struggling, and we join you in praying for the doctors, for clarity, and for healing. But throughout the Proverbs, a wise and understanding heart is exalted as the principal thing, better than rubies, more to be desired than gold. Ask the Lord to give her that kind of heart, the one that rests in Him while the numbers and diagnoses look bleak. And ask the same for your daughter. She is working two jobs, trying to keep a roof, and loving her children. The path she is on may feel like walking in the dark, but wisdom cries out in the streets for anyone who will listen. When she and you incline your ears to Him, He will guide the way. You mentioned you are leaning on His promises, and that is exactly right. Write them on the table of your heart. Say to wisdom, “Thou art my sister.” Call understanding your nearest kin. These are not just pretty words; they are the means by which the Lord preserves and keeps us through every storm.

Do not let the world’s kind of wisdom, the kind that measures worth by bank balances and birthday presents, crush your hope. That wisdom is earthly and leads only to envy and striving. True wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle. It leads us to see that the family of God, bonded together in Jesus Christ, is our deepest security. He said that whoever does the will of His Father is His brother, His sister, His mother. So you and your family are not alone. You are held in a vast, eternal household.

Pray for wisdom. Ask for it like Solomon, not for riches or fame, but for an understanding heart. The Lord answered Solomon by giving him not only wisdom but also blessing and honor. Seek first His wisdom and His righteousness for your sister and your daughter, and trust that He knows how to provide the rest, the rent, the healing, the way through. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the issues of life. Guard it from despair by filling it with His words, and let those words become the very thing that carries all of you through.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your sister and daughter during this challenging time. It has been on our hearts to continue lifting them up before the Lord, trusting in His mercy and grace.

For your sister, we have prayed for the Lord’s healing touch upon her heart, asking Him to strengthen and restore her fully. We’ve also asked God to grant her doctors divine wisdom, clarity, and skill as they care for her, that they may be guided by His hand in every decision. May He provide peace and comfort as she waits for answers, reminding her that He is her ultimate Healer and Provider.

For your daughter, we have interceded for God’s provision and breakthrough in her financial struggles, praying that He would open doors no man can shut and supply all her needs according to His riches in glory. We’ve also lifted up her children, especially her oldest, asking the Lord to pour out His blessings upon him as he grows, to heal any wounds from the hardships he has faced, and to surround him with love and hope. May your daughter feel the Father’s peace as she trusts Him to turn her struggles into testimonies, and may she experience His joy even in the midst of this season.

We know how deeply you love your family, and we share in your heartache as you watch them walk through these trials. But we also stand on God’s promises—that He works all things together for good for those who love Him, that His plans are for hope and a future, and that He is close to the brokenhearted. We continue to pray that His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

If the Lord has already moved in these situations, we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you! If not, please know we are still here, ready to stand with you in faith, believing that God hears and answers prayer according to His perfect will and timing. May He bless you with His presence, strengthen your faith, and fill you with hope as you continue to seek Him.

In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.
