Silent prayer

We join together with you in this silent prayer lifted in Jesus' name and we count it a privilege to bring your unspoken request before the throne of grace. Though no details have been shared, we know that our Heavenly Father hears even the prayers that have no words, for He searches the heart and knows the mind of the Spirit.

We are reminded that you do not need perfect words for God to hear you. Before a word is on our tongue, He knows it completely, Psalm 139:4, and when we do not know how to pray as we ought, the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered, Romans 8:26. Jesus Himself taught us that your Father who sees in secret will reward you, Matthew 6:6, and that your Father knows what you need before you ask Him, Matthew 6:8. We also cling to the promise that if we ask anything according to His will, He listens to us, 1 John 5:14.

We pray together now for your silent request.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who is our mediator and our access to Your presence. We thank You that You know the burden, the hope, and the need that this dear one holds in their heart without speaking it aloud. You see what is hidden and You understand what is too deep or too heavy for words. We ask that You would answer this silent prayer according to Your perfect will and Your infinite wisdom. Grant peace that surpasses all understanding, Philippians 4:7, and let Your will be done in this situation. If there is need for healing, provide healing. If there is need for provision, comfort, guidance, reconciliation, or strength, we ask You to supply it abundantly. Draw this dear one closer to You through this time of waiting and trusting, and help them to feel Your presence and Your love in a tangible way. Help them to continue to trust in You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding, Proverbs 3:5-6, knowing that You are working all things together for good for those who love You, Romans 8:28. We thank You that we can come boldly to You only through Jesus, for there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5, and in His name we have confidence that You hear us. We ask all of this in Jesus' name, amen.

We encourage you to continue to rest in Him and to pour out your heart before Him, whether in silence or in words, knowing He cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7. Keep seeking Him in prayer and in His Word, and trust that He who hears in secret is already at work for your good and His glory.

Thank you for sharing this quiet prayer with us. We hear the trust in those few words, coming to the Father in Jesus' name even when there are no other words to add.

Sometimes the deepest prayers are silent, and we take comfort that God knows our hearts completely and meets us right there. He welcomes those wordless moments just as much as longer prayers. You do not need to have perfect words or explain everything, He already understands what is on your heart.

We want you to know we are praying alongside you now and we are grateful you reached out. We are asking God to meet you in that silence with His nearness and care, and to give you peace as you rest in Him. We will continue to hold you in prayer beyond today.

If it helps, you might keep a brief quiet moment each day this week just to be still before Him without any pressure to find the right words, knowing He is listening and with you.

Father, thank You for hearing even our silent prayers. We lift our friend to You right now and ask for Your presence to be real to them, for peace in their heart and confidence that You hear. Guide them, keep them close to You and remind them they are not alone. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your silent petition in the name of Jesus has been heard and we join with you in it before the throne of grace.

There is a peculiar power in brief, silent prayer. Thus Nehemiah prayed when he stood before the king. The prayer was strictly within himself, offered to God in the innermost shrine of his own secret soul, perfectly secret, not merely silent as to sounds but silent as to any outward signs, and it was done as in the blinking of an eye, yet it prevailed with God. It was a prayer on the spot. He did not go to his chamber as Daniel did and open the window, but there and then he spoke with the God of heaven.

I beg you often, indeed always, to use this method of brief, silent prayer. The spirit of prayer is the mother of these brief, silent prayers and therefore she is a plentiful mother. Many times in a day may we speak with the Lord our God. Such prayer may be suggested by all sorts of surroundings, and it brings honor to God in the very act, for when a soul calls upon Him sincerely it proves that God is a fact to that soul and not a mere notion.

While you wait, remember that God has already spoken. You ought to be glad that God has spoken in His holiness, and you will be glad if you feel that He has spoken to you. What mighty power your soul will have in prayer if you go to God and say, Do as You have said. The prayer which pleases Him is in essence a reminding of Him of what He has promised. You can never pray an inch beyond the tether of the promise with any assurance of being heard. For my own part I always feel on sure ground with God when I can quote His own Word and plead, Remember the Word unto Your servant.

If you have never prayed before, let this silent cry be something like that of the publican in the temple, God be merciful to me, a sinner. There is salvation in no other name under heaven but that of Jesus Christ, who bore our sins and opened the way to the mercy seat by His blood. And if you know Him, continue to call upon Him in the day of trouble, for He has said, Call upon Me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me. Do not be agitated and do not run away to others, but call upon God in calm faith, and become quiet and unshaken in full assurance of Him on whom you rely.

We pray that the Lord will hear your silent prayer, quicken you in His way, turn your eyes from vanity, and give you to rejoice because God has spoken. May He exalt Himself above your heavens and let His glory be over all your life, and keep you in communion with Him through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
