Your honesty in sharing this fear is heard and I am praying with you in this anxious time. It is understandable to feel afraid when your job feels uncertain, and God sees both your worry and your willingness to admit what happened.
Scripture calls us to place our deepest fear and trust in God rather than in people or circumstances. Jesus said to fear not those who can harm the body but cannot harm the soul, but rather to fear God who holds both body and soul in His hands. That does not mean your job does not matter, but it means your peace does not have to rise and fall only with whether you keep this position. Anxiety over earthly things comes and goes and leaves the heart unsettled, but trust in God brings a steadier hope because His care is constant and His provision is sure. He is able to sustain you, to provide for your needs, and to use even hard consequences for your good and growth.
You have done the right thing by admitting that you did not follow instructions. God calls us to work faithfully and honestly, as serving the Lord and not only people, and to turn away from disobedience when we see it. If you have not yet done so, go humbly to your supervisor, acknowledge without excuse what you did not do, ask for forgiveness, and ask how you can make it right and follow instructions carefully going forward. Whether the job is kept or not, taking responsibility honors God and builds integrity, and His loving kindness offers forgiveness when we confess and turn to Him through Jesus Christ.
Let me pray for you. Father in heaven, I lift up this one who is afraid. You know the fear about work and the mistake that was made. Please grant peace that comes from trusting You, forgive where there has been disobedience, and give humility and wisdom to do what is right before You and before the employer. Provide for every need according to Your goodness, help this person to work with diligence and a clear conscience, and use whatever outcome comes to draw closer to Christ. Give courage to fear You above all and to rest in Your care. In Jesus name, amen.
