Losing faith, still waiting for God.

Himani2

Disciple of Prayer
God, I feel like I am losing my faith in You. It seems like You answer everyone else's prayers and make things work for them, but not mine. I have waited for so long, prayed so much, and tried to keep trust in You, but now I am tired.

If You are listening to me, please give me an answer. Show me that my prayers matter too. My faith is slowly fading, and my heart is full of pain. God, if You are truly with me, please bring some change into my life and show me a way forward.

We hear the pain and weariness in your heart and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord together in Jesus' name. It is not wrong to feel tired in the waiting, and God is not distant from those feelings. He sees your tears, He hears every prayer you have prayed, and He has not forgotten you even when it feels like He has answered everyone else but you.

The enemy would love for you to believe that your prayers do not matter, but Scripture tells us the truth. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 61:2 says When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Your broken and overwhelmed heart is not hidden from Him. He is near to you right now.

Waiting is one of the hardest parts of faith, but waiting is not wasting. Lamentations 3:25 says Yahweh is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. Isaiah 30:18 says therefore Yahweh will wait, that he may be gracious to you, and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for Yahweh is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him. His timing is not neglect, it is love and wisdom. What feels like silence is often God working in ways we cannot yet see, for Romans 8:28 tells us that we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

We also understand the temptation to compare. When you see others receiving answers, it can feel like God is overlooking you. But Isaiah 40:31 reminds us But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint. And Galatians 6:9 encourages us Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up. Your season of reaping is not forgotten, it is being prepared. Psalm 27:14 says Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh.

We want to gently speak to something important we noticed in your prayer. You cried out to God, which is beautiful, but you did not mention the name of Jesus. We want to share with you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Our prayers matter because Jesus has opened the way for us through His death and resurrection. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through Jesus that we can come boldly and know we are heard.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this precious soul who is weary and hurting. You see the long waiting, the many prayers, the fading strength, and the aching heart. We ask You to show Yourself strong on their behalf. Renew their faith even when it feels small, for Your Word says in Hebrews 11:6 that without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. Reward their seeking, Lord. Let them know they are not forgotten. Give them a tangible sign of Your presence, Your comfort, and Your direction. Heal the pain in their heart, strengthen their tired spirit, and lead them to the rock that is higher. Help them to wait on You with courage, to trust that You are working even now for their good. Draw them closer to Jesus, that they may know the full assurance of being Your child and that their prayers are heard through Him. Bring change according to Your perfect will and show them the way forward step by step. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our salvation, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking Him daily, even with simple honest prayers like you have prayed. Stay in His Word, share your burden with faithful Christian believers who can walk with you, and remember that even when your hold on Him feels weak, His hold on you remains strong. Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. He is with you in this waiting, and He will not let you go.

We hear how tired you are in what you wrote. Waiting so long while it looks like others are being answered is deeply painful, and feeling your faith slip after you have tried so hard to hold on makes sense that your heart would hurt.

What you describe is something many believers quietly carry. The ache is less about having all the intellectual answers and more about feeling unseen in the waiting, wondering if your prayers still count. That kind of tired, emotional doubt is very common and it does not mean you have failed or that you are alone in it. It often comes after a long season of trying hard, when strength simply runs low.

We want to encourage you to keep the conversation with God honest and small for now, even just a few plain words at the start or end of the day about how tired you feel, rather than feeling you must find the right words to convince Him. And if you can, let one trusted person know you are in this low place this week, a pastor, a friend, or someone in your church, so you do not carry the waiting by yourself. Growth and steadiness often come more like training for a long walk than a single moment of trying harder, small faithful steps over time.

Father, we bring our brother before You in Jesus name. You see his waiting and his tired heart. Draw near to him, remind him he is heard and not forgotten, and give him a little strength for today and a clear next step forward. Amen.

Your words carry a weariness which many of the Lord's tried people have known well, that painful sense of praying and waiting till the heart grows faint. Be not ashamed to confess it before God, for to call upon Him in the day of trouble is itself an honouring of Him. It proves that you still believe there is a God who hears, and that truthful recognition of Him is precious in His sight.

Hope on, poor soul, and hope on forever. Brethren must not take delays in prayer for denial. God's long dated bills will be punctually honoured. Unanswered petitions are not unheard. There is a registry in the court of Heaven where every prayer is recorded. They are not blown away by the wind, they are treasured in the King's archives. Your sighs and tears are not fruitless, and prayer is heard the moment it is uttered, though it may not be answered just yet. The bread cast upon the waters of prayer will be found again, though it may not be till after many days.

Scripture speaks of a waiting God. The Lord waits that He may be gracious unto you. Behold how the heart of God yearns toward His people in long forbearance and singular patience. And when everything else has broken down, we come back to Him and find Him lovingly waiting, ready to pardon through Jesus Christ, for there is no other way of salvation. It is through His Son alone that sinners are reconciled and prayers have access to the throne.

Unanswered prayer should also be to every Christian a search warrant. The Lord does as it were say to us, Search and look. It is wise to examine the heart to see whether there be anything harboured within which is contrary to the will of God, and to pray with sincerity, Search me, O God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. Beware, for we may sin even in the prayer chamber if we come with pride or with a will made up before we bow the knee. Get the promise and then offer the prayer, and the prayer will be answered as sure as God is God. Take some sure word of His own mouth and plead it before Him. Sincere prayer may be very feeble to us, but it is always acceptable to God when it is offered in the name of Christ.

My counsel to you therefore is this. Wait thou only upon God. Calvin well translates it, be thou silent before God. Rest calm and undisturbed before Him. They that wait upon the Lord shall not want any good thing. Do not run away to others, and do not sit down in silent despair, but call upon God in calm faith. Watch unto prayer. Turn your eye anew to God, and though you should seem to tread upon hard ground at the next step, yet if God bids you walk there it shall be made heaven to you by His presence.

Look back also upon the manifold and manifest answers to prayer which God has already given you, for such remembrance nourishes love. Even now, go to your chamber, fall upon your knees, and with tears of gratitude bless His holy name. Let meditation and prayer go together as twin sisters, for meditation must exist where there is prayer, and prayer is sure to exist where there is meditation.

May the Lord show you that your prayers matter indeed, and bring you in His own time and way into a place of deliverance, that you may yet say, I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my supplication. And when He does deliver you, you shall glorify Him.

I will pray for you that your faith fail not, that you may be kept waiting upon God alone, trusting wholly in the Lord Jesus Christ who is our only hope, and that you may find Him faithful to honour His promises and to do for you far more than you have asked.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
