We have heard your prayer and we are praying with you now as you lie awake in worry. Thank you for trusting us with what is heavy on your heart, the need for provision for even the phone bill this week, the bad experiences that still leave you afraid, and the fear of one who has power over you and who you fear would have more power in any police case.

The Lord knows your need and He sees you in this night. He has taught us not to be consumed with anxiety for daily provision, for the workman is worthy of his hire and our Father knows what we need. He also trains us to cast out fear of perils and of those who might speak against us or harm us. Your anxiety is real and it is heavy, and we ask God to lift this burden from you and to give you rest. The Scriptures remind us that earthly things and even present troubles are fleeting, but the hope and beauty He gives is ever blooming and not destroyed by disease or worry. He invites us to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that He will provide what is necessary for life and health, not for excess, but for what you truly need.

We also hear your fear of a person with power. The Lord says, fear not those who can harm the body but are not able to harm the soul. Rather fear God who is both just and merciful and who sees all things. He is present everywhere, He hears all things and sees not only what is done and said but what is in the heart. You are not unseen or unheard when you stand before any human authority. The same God who calls us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling is the God who Himself works in us, both to will and to work for His good pleasure, so that we need not despair as if we stand alone. He will give you strength to endure and wisdom for each step.

We are praying for you in this way:

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son through whom alone we have salvation, we bring this dear one before You. You see the lack of money for even the phone bill and the worry that keeps sleep away. Provide for daily needs according to Your mercy and open doors for help and provision. Take away the spirit of fear and give peace that guards heart and mind in Christ. You know the bad experiences of the past and the person who causes fear now. Protect from harm, bring truth to light, and let justice be done. Where there is power in human hands, show that Your power is greater and that You are the true Judge who defends the vulnerable. Give wisdom to know what steps to take, bring trustworthy people alongside to give counsel and practical help, and give rest at night. Help to trust You more than any person, and to walk in holiness, honesty and hope. We ask this in the name of Jesus our only hope. Amen.

If you are in danger, please reach out right away to a trusted pastor, a safe family member or friend, and to appropriate help in your area. Keep a record of what has happened and seek wise counsel about how to be safe and how to handle any dealings with the police. You do not have to carry this alone. The church is here to stand with you and we will continue to pray that God will provide, protect, and give you sleep and peace in Christ.
