Salvation

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up ### and ### to our Heavenly Father. The Word tells us, "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10 WEB). How precious in God’s sight are those who are far from Him, for He desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).

We recognize that salvation is not found in religion, good works, or human effort, but only in the finished work of Jesus Christ. "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB). Jesus Himself declared, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that would keep ### and ### bound in darkness, telling them they are "fine as they are" or that they don’t need God. The truth is, apart from Christ, we are all lost, dead in our trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1). But God, who is rich in mercy, sent His Son to die for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). This is the love that transforms hearts and breaks chains!

We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict ### and ### of their need for a Savior. May their eyes be opened to see their sin and their desperate need for Jesus. May they hear the voice of the Good Shepherd calling them by name (John 10:3). We ask that You would soften their hearts, remove all hardness, and draw them with cords of love (Hosea 11:4). Let them taste and see that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8).

Father, we ask that You would surround ### and ### with believers who will speak truth in love, who will live out the Gospel before them, and who will pray faithfully for their salvation. May they encounter You in a real and personal way, through Your Word, through answered prayer, through the testimony of Your people, or even through a dream or vision. Nothing is too hard for You (Jeremiah 32:17)!

We declare that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work to bring life where there is death (Ephesians 1:19-20). We speak salvation over ### and ### in the mighty name of Jesus. May they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead, and so be saved (Romans 10:9). May they experience the joy of sins forgiven, the peace that surpasses all understanding, and the hope of eternal life.

Lord, we also pray for those who know them, family, friends, coworkers. Give us boldness to share the Gospel, wisdom to answer their questions, and love that reflects Your heart. Help us to live in such a way that they see Christ in us and are drawn to Him.

We trust You, Lord, for the salvation of ### and ###. We believe that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). May Your will be done in their lives, and may they come to know You as their Lord and Savior. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We carry your request close to our hearts. It is hard and holy work to love people who are still far from the Lord, and we are grateful you have asked us to stand with you. We will pray for them by name, trusting that God already knows every hidden place in their lives and is not willing that any should perish.

It can feel powerless to wait and watch, but your steady prayers are not wasted. The Spirit often works in ways we cannot trace, softening ground long before we see a single green shoot. Keep loving them with kindness and patience, that is its own quiet witness. If you want to give your prayers a little more structure, pick a regular few minutes each day to simply entrust them afresh to God. That rhythm can keep hope anchored when progress seems invisible.

Father, we bring these two loved ones before You. You see how deeply lost they are, and You alone can open eyes and turn hearts. Draw them with a tenderness they cannot ignore, and send whatever people or circumstances would reach them best. We ask for the gift of repentance and faith to become real in their lives, so they would know Your mercy through Jesus Christ. We rest in Your power to save, and we keep trusting, for their sake and for the one who prays. Amen.

What a weighty request is this, and how it presses upon the soul. That two should be named before the Throne, yet both described as very lost, stirs the heart to its depths. It is well that you have brought them here, for this house of prayer itself cries out against all who remain at ease in Zion. Every sermon heard, every hymn sung, every prayer offered in this place becomes an accusation before Almighty Heaven against those who will not come to Christ. Think of it, the very means of grace, if slighted, shall rise up in judgment. Yet we do not cease to plead, for God is our witness how truly our heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.

But let us take heed how we pray. Jacob, in his model prayer, first did what he thought wise, then betook himself to prayer, and in that order he tore the chariot wheels from his petition. We must come in humility of spirit, stripping away all self-conceit, all reliance upon our own persuasions or plans. True prayer is pleading with the Most High, spreading the case before Him, and pressing the suit with all the arguments we can muster. Lay hold of His promises. Remind Him that He has said, “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth.” Plead the blood of the covenant. Urge that these souls are as lost as any upon the broad road, and that His salvation is exactly suited for the blackest of sinners, a salvation so full of grace that only God could have conceived it.

And what is this salvation we seek for them? It is not our own, but God’s salvation. It is His in the planning, His in the providing, His in the Person of His dear Son. Christ is the salvation of God; see Jesus and you have seen salvation. It is not in outward ordinances, nor in a profession of religion made with the lips while the heart wanders. The way of salvation is to believe on Christ, to trust in Him. “Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed.” How simple! How instantaneous! It does not require a moment’s delay. A look of faith, and the soul is secure beyond hazard, for His honor is engaged to save the meanest of His sheep.

Therefore, I charge you to persist in prayer for these two, yet do not think the duty ends there. You cannot honestly pray for their salvation unless you give them the opportunity of hearing the word, for God’s appointed way of saving souls is through the preaching and hearing of the truth. Bring them where the gospel is sounded forth with clarity and urgency. And when you speak to them, let your words be seasoned with the plain invitation: “Look! Look! Look!” Tell them that the burden of sin, which may be upon them even now, can be lifted before they cross their own threshold. This very day might be their spiritual birthday.

Let your eye be upon them, but let your chief hope be in the Lord. Remember, it is possible that the one whom you think most hardened may soon be found rejoicing in God’s salvation. I have seen young persons in deep trouble of soul declare that a preacher’s face would accuse them forever, and yet they were not lost, but soon found peace. The Lord grant that it may be so here. Do not let these words fall to the ground, but press on, pleading, “I will rejoice in thy salvation,” and look for the day when you may return to this house to give thanks that the lost are found.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
