Safety and health

Disciple of Prayer
hello please pray for me my brothers and sisters I am going on holiday with my family for a month and I hope that my house is safe especially since there are fires nearby. Also I pray that we will be in health that we will be able to do everything without the burden of sickness weighting upon us and I hope to have an amazing holiday.

We hear your heart and lift your concerns before the Lord with great care. Your desire for safety, health, and a joyful time with your family is precious to Him, and we join you in seeking His protection and blessing over this holiday.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We ask that You watch over this home while it is unoccupied. Protect it from fire, theft, and any harm, Lord. You are our refuge and fortress, and we trust in Your unfailing care. "The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forward and forevermore." (Psalm 121:8) We declare Your covering over this house and all that is within it.

Father, we also pray for the health and strength of this family as they travel. Guard them from illness, fatigue, and injury. Let Your healing power rest upon them, and grant them energy and vitality to enjoy every moment of this time together. "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." (3 John 1:2) May their bodies be temples of Your Holy Spirit, strong and whole.

Lord, we ask that You go before them on this journey, making their paths smooth and their hearts light. Remove any anxiety or burden, and fill them with peace and joy. Let this holiday be a time of rest, renewal, and sweet fellowship, reflecting Your goodness and grace. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul." (Psalm 23:1-3)

We also want to gently remind you that our access to God and His protection comes only through the name of Jesus Christ. It is through His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection that we have the privilege to approach the Father with our prayers. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" (John 14:6) If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so. He is the only way to eternal life and the source of true peace.

May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26) In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We can feel the tug between looking forward to a month away and that quiet uneasiness about everything back home. That’s so understandable, our hearts want to rest, but our minds keep scanning for what could go wrong. We’re glad you brought this here so we can carry it with you.

While you’re gone, a simple, practical step might be giving a trusted neighbor or a nearby friend a spare key and your contact info, just so someone’s eyes are on things. Knowing a person can reach you if anything shifts near those fires can ease the mental load. But beyond that, we also want you to truly let this holiday be a time of replenishment. You’ve asked for health to be a shield over your family, not just the absence of sickness, but the freedom to be present, to laugh, to soak in each other without the fog of exhaustion or pain. That’s a beautiful thing to hope for, and we’ll join you in that hope.

Stepping away from the ordinary can remind us how small our control actually is, and how kind it is that we don’t have to carry the weight of protecting everything on our own. We can take reasonable care, and then we can rest.

Lord Jesus, watch over their home while they are away. Quiet any winds that would spread flames, and guard their neighborhood. Cover this family with health, steady bodies, clear minds, peaceful hearts. Let this be a season of genuine rest and joy for them, a gift of time together that returns them refreshed. We trust their whole household to Your keeping. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have asked prayer for your house and your health, and I gladly unite my supplications with yours. The threat of fire rages near your home, and you long for safety and strength to enjoy this holiday with your family. It is well that you have brought these concerns to the Lord’s people, for we have a faithful High Priest who is touched with the feeling of our infirmities.

Yet let us remember: the Christian is no stranger to walking through the fire. The word of promise declares, “When thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” If God permits the flames to draw near, it is not because He lacks restraint, but because He would teach us that His protection is supernatural, not natural. We may well cry, “Fire! fire!” when danger is at hand, but we cry also to Him who is a wall of fire round about His people. The same Flame that shall one day cleanse this sin-stained earth with burning will not consume the saint who is hidden in Christ. The very word of God is a fire, and prayer kindles a holy warmth that no earthly blaze can quench.

I pray you may be kept in health, but more than this, I pray that no sickness of soul may weigh upon you. There is a safety far greater than the safety of bricks and mortar, the safety of the spirit, kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation. Our safety lies in our Saviour, who is able to keep us from falling and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. Let this be your confidence, not the absence of alarm.

And what of your holiday? Begin at home, even while you travel. Carry the fire of devotion with you, that wherever you lodge, you may build before your own house, spiritually. Let the recollection of the Lord’s mercies warm your heart, and let the hammer of His truth break any coldness that creeps in. Should sickness try you, or sorrow overshadow your mirth, count it not strange. The Refiner’s fire is not meant to destroy, but to purge away dross, that you may come forth as gold.

Go then, with a quiet heart. Commit your dwelling to the Keeper of Israel, who neither slumbers nor sleeps. And if you would have a fire that warms without harming, stoke the coals of family prayer and thanksgiving. Then, whether the flames of earthly trial dance near your threshold or not, you shall know the joy of one who is securely kept for a home where fire cannot kindle and sickness never enters. The Lord watch over your going out and your coming in, from this time forth and even for evermore.

You ask prayer for your house to be safe from the fires nearby, and for health during your holiday. It is right to bring these needs before God and the church. But let us weigh such requests in the balance of eternity. What is an earthly house but a tabernacle, easily taken to pieces? As the Apostle says, if this tent is dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. You have seen houses burning, the smoke ascending, the beams crashing down, and the bystanders able to do nothing but watch. Such a sight proclaims the fragility of every earthly shelter. Do not set your heart on walls and roofs; set it on that dwelling which no fire can touch. While you are away, God is the guardian of your home, and He may allow or prevent what He wills. Trust Him.

Consider too how God’s ways often turn the things we dread into our benefit. Joseph feared the house of his mistress more than any prison, yet what seemed his ruin became his safety; his chains led to a throne. The fires that threaten your neighborhood may become for you a lesson to rely not on possessions but on Providence. Make your soul a house swept clean of unseasonable anger, luxuriousness, and love of wealth, thorns that nourish only irrational passions and kindle the furnace of judgment. Then you will dwell in a peace that no calamity can destroy.

For health, seek first the kingdom of heaven, and health of body shall be added. The centurion came asking for his servant’s healing, yet received a kingdom because of his faith. The woman with the issue of blood touched Christ’s garment secretly and was made whole. Approach Him with such lowliness, not demanding but trusting, and He will give more than you ask. But do not let this holiday become an occasion for slackness. A change of place is no cure for a soul grown soft. Mortify the body by sober living; let the sword of the Spirit cut away lust, and let the fire of God’s love consume every thorny desire. Bridle your tongue, cast off expensive trifles, and let your rest be in Him. Then your holiday will be not a wandering but a pilgrimage, and your house, whether standing or fallen, will find its true foundation in Christ.

I pray with you for safety from physical fire, for robust health, and for a journey free of sickness, yet more earnestly I pray that you return with souls on fire for the kingdom, having glimpsed the eternal house not made with hands.

When I hear that fires are burning near your house and that you are heading out on holiday, my mind goes to a simple truth woven through the Scriptures: the safety of a dwelling does not rest finally in bricks and mortar, but in whether it is a place God can call His own. I will certainly pray with you for protection over your home and for full health for your family during this month away. But as I do, I want you to carry something deeper with you.

A prophet once stood before a terrified king with a promise that would sound strange to our ears: surrender to the Lord’s word, and your house will not be burned. Resist, and the fire will come. That was no guarantee of an easy life, but it was an unshakable certainty that the Lord is sovereign over every flame. He is not saying there will never be a threat; He is saying that when your heart yields entirely to Him, you are held in a mercy that no fire can touch. The same mercy that had long preserved a rebellious people was finally withdrawn when they trusted in their own schemes, their own altars, their own substitutes for God. The very sanctuary they built for worship became a house of idols, and the glory departed.

So go on your holiday, enjoy the rest, and ask the Lord to keep sickness far off. But let the news of those nearby fires be more than a weather report. Let it be His gracious call to search your own heart: Is there anything in your life, even a good thing, that has become a little idol? Any self-reliance that has nudged out the quiet trust that says, “The Lord alone is my keeper”? A house can be a Bethel, a place of encounter with the living God, or a Beth-Aven, a house of emptiness, depending on what is cherished inside its walls. Not the furniture, but the affections.

Health and a happy holiday are gifts, but His presence is the real treasure. When His glory fills a house, no earthly disaster can destroy its true peace. I pray your time away will mark a return to that first innocence of faith, like Jacob going back to Bethel after years of conniving, finally putting away the household idols. The Lord is not hard to please; He simply wants to be your only refuge. If He is your home, you carry that safety with you wherever you go. Travel under that wing. I will stand with you in prayer for a restful and healthy month, and for a house that remains standing, inside and out.
