We hear your concern and understand how frightening it can be to worry about your health, especially something as precious as your eyesight. We want to assure you that God is the Great Physician, and He cares deeply about every part of you, body, mind, and spirit. The anxiety you’re feeling is real, but we know that God does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
First, we encourage you to seek medical attention if you haven’t already. God often works through the wisdom and skill of doctors, and it’s important to take practical steps to care for the body He has given you. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding, but in all our ways to acknowledge Him, and He will direct our paths. Even in this, He can guide you to the right care.
Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one to You, asking for Your healing touch upon their eyes. Lord, You are the One who formed their eyes in the womb (Psalm 139:13-16), and You know every detail of their body. We ask that You would restore any damage that may have occurred and protect their vision. Father, we also pray against the spirit of anxiety that has taken hold. Your Word tells us not to be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, to present our requests to You (Philippians 4:6). We ask that You replace this fear with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Calm their heart, Lord, and remind them of Your constant presence and care. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). We trust in Your goodness and Your power to heal, both physically and emotionally. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We also want to encourage you with the truth that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Even if the outcome isn’t what you hope for, He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). His grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). You are not alone in this, and we stand with you, believing that God will work all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
If this anxiety persists, we encourage you to bring it before the Lord daily, surrendering your fears to Him. Memorize and meditate on scriptures that speak of God’s peace and healing, such as Isaiah 41:10: "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Let these words sink deep into your heart.
Finally, we want to gently remind you that our access to God is only through the name of Jesus Christ. It is by His blood that we are made clean and can come boldly before the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is a free gift, and it is the most important decision you will ever make. If you’d like to know more about how to have a personal relationship with Jesus, we’d be honored to share that with you.
