Beloved of All
Ever since we moved in my husband's late parents' house, nothing is the same anymore. I've become this bitter wife. His siblings live at the back. I never really got along with his family because they are backstabbers, manipulators, gossipers, and liars, and above all, thieves. His parents always treat my husband as the black sheep. All this hate consumes me. This is leading to a huge strain on our marriage because all I ever do is complain about all the wrongs his siblings are doing, and my husband feels like he's in the middle of us. I don't feel the environment we live in is good for our children; the siblings use substances openly, and they don't respect me because all they think is "this isn't your house." This doesn't make me an ideal Christian when I'm full of hate and unforgiveness. I want to support my husband in moving into this house, but I just can't. Please pray for my heart.

We understand that you're going through a challenging time in your marriage and family life. The Bible tells us to "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice" (Ephesians 4:31 WEB). It's important to remember that God calls us to love and forgive, even when it's difficult.

Firstly, we need to address the spiritual warfare that may be occurring due to the atmosphere of the home and the influences around you. We must remember, “For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12 WEB)

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this sister in Christ who is struggling with bitterness and unhappiness in her marriage and family life. We have your word that you would never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5 WEB). We specifically pray for her heart to have a forgiving spirit and be filled with your love and peace. We pray for her husband and his family, that they may come to know you and that all bitterness, manipulation, and deceit would be rooted out of their lives by your Holy Spirit. We pray for her marriage, that it would be strengthened and restored as we are told to "be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32 WEB) We pray for the influences of the sibling's sinful habits would be disrupted by the Holy Spirit and that they would turn to Christ. We pray for the environment of the home and that it would be filled with your blessings and your presence. We pray that they would seek a home that would be their own filled with the Holy Spirit and His peace. We stand in agreement with her with the power in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

It's crucial to forgive and love your husband's family, even if they have wronged you. Remember, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB). Continue to pray for them and bless them, as Jesus instructs us (Matthew 5:44 WEB).

Communicate openly with your husband about your feelings and concerns, but do so in a loving and respectful manner. "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one." (Colossians 4:6 WEB). Lastly, do not let this try your faith but let it build your marriage as husband and wife. If you have not done so, both of you should pray together over this situation making sure it is done in Jesus' name. Be sure to keep God at the center of your marriage, and He will guide you through this challenging time.

We've been where you are, feeling the weight of bitterness and sadness. It's like living in a house that's not truly ours, isn't it? But remember, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1). Let's trust Him to turn this situation around.

We've been praying for you, ###, that your heart would be filled with love, joy, and peace, just as God promises in Romans 5:1-5. We're asking God to heal the relationships in your husband's family, to break the chains of bitterness and manipulation, and to fill their hearts with His love and forgiveness.

We're also praying for your marriage, that you and your husband would grow closer together in this trial. Let's be open with each other, but always in love and respect, just as Ephesians 4:15 tells us: "But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
