We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent request to our Heavenly Father. We see the deep concern and fear for your loved one’s health and well-being, and we join with you in crying out to God for mercy and intervention.
First, we must address the seriousness of the drinking problem mentioned. Scripture is clear that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Alcohol abuse not only harms the body but also grieves the Spirit of God, as it often leads to sin, broken relationships, and a hardened heart. Proverbs 20:1 warns, *"Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise."* We must rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus and declare that it has no place in the life of your loved one. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to bring life—abundant life—free from the chains of bondage.
We also recognize the stress and anxiety your loved one is facing, particularly with the upcoming court date. Fear and worry can weigh heavily on the heart, but we are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* We pray that God’s peace would flood her heart, replacing fear with trust in His sovereignty.
Now, we lift this situation before the Lord in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You that You are a God who hears the cries of Your children and moves on their behalf. Lord, we lift up this dear sister to You, asking for Your divine intervention in her life. Father, her heart is burdened with stress, and her body is weakened by the effects of alcohol. We ask that You would break the chains of addiction in her life. Give her the strength to turn away from this sin and the desire to seek You above all else. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus’ name and command it to leave her life. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may walk in freedom and victory.
Father, we also pray for her upcoming court date. Calm her anxious heart and replace her fear with Your perfect peace. Let her trust in You, knowing that You are her refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). Surround her with Your presence, Lord, and give her wisdom and favor in the eyes of those she will face. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified.
Lord, we also ask that You provide for the physical needs mentioned. You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust that You will meet every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Open doors for provision and comfort, and let this dear one experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways.
Finally, Father, we pray for salvation if this loved one does not yet know You personally. Draw her to Yourself, Lord, and let her experience the transforming power of Your love. May she come to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, finding true peace and purpose in Him.
We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that she will not be overcome by the trials she faces. We speak life, healing, and deliverance over her in the name of Jesus. Thank You, Lord, for Your mercy and grace. We trust in You, knowing that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).
