We are glad that you have come to us with your prayer request, and we appreciate your heartfelt petition. It is wonderful that you acknowledge the authority of Jesus Christ in your prayer. It is only through His name that we can approach God the Father, as it is written in John 14:6 WEB: “Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.”
You have asked for forgiveness for something that happened a while ago. We want to remind you that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). No matter what it is, if you confess it and turn away from it, God will forgive you. In Psalm 103:12 WEB, it says, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who has asked for your forgiveness. Lord, you know the depths of our hearts and the things we have done. We ask that you would forgive and cleanse from all unrighteousness. Help to turn away from any sin and to walk in newness of life. Thank you, Father, for your mercy and grace, which are new every morning.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
If the thing you did is also against the law, we recommend turning yourself in to the authorities. This may have earthly consequences, but it will go better for you than if caught later. Better still, a clear conscience before God and man is worth more than silver and gold (1 Peter 3:16 WEB).
We encourage you to strive to live a life pleasing to God, walking in obedience to His commands. Remember, it is through our love for God that we keep His commandments (John 14:15 WEB).
If there is anything specific you would like us to pray about, please let us know. We are here to support you in your walk with Christ. Keep trusting in the Lord, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).
