We are glad that this person has come to seek forgiveness and has acknowledged the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God. He is the mediator between God and man, and the Scriptures tell us that there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. We are also told in 1 Timothy 2:5 (WEB), "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,".
Let us pray together.
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this person who has sought Your forgiveness. You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We are so grateful that Your Word tells us in 1 John 1:9 (WEB), "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.".
Father, we ask that You grant this person the peace and assurance that comes from knowing they are forgiven. Help them to walk in the light, as You are in the light, that we may have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, Your Son, cleanses us from all sin.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage this person to continue walking with God, obeying His commandments, and living a life pleasing to Him. The Scripture tells us in John 14:15 (WEB), "If you love me, keep my commandments." As we walk in His ways, God gives the grace to continue living for Him and His holiness. It is important for this person to remember the sanctification process and the effort that must be made towards holiness and a life pleasing to God. It is not just about forgiveness, but a life of obedience to Christ.
